Liverpool's propagated culture might be the most overblown in football. The victims get together and make a big spectacle by singing a touching song before a match starts but have a bad season, make a mistake, or threaten to leave to Chelsea in 2005 and it's death threats and abuse coming your way. A bin dipper's dishonor knows no bounds.

Vinícius Jr. before the match stated he was going weights-off for the NT as he does in Real Madrid.

So yeah...

Brazil isn't winning shit this year, I assure you. If we reach the Quarter Finals, it will be a feat.

Jamaica only putting one goal past an OFC minnow is pretty wild.

USA actually looked pretty decent in the first half, all the subs in the second half just showed our lack of depth. Goalkeeper also really worries me, we don't have a Brad Friedel or Tim Howard anymore....

The US is a wholly unserious nation when it comes to football.
How very dare you. They’re going to buy all the English teams (and all the big teams in Europe too), then make damn sure those forruns are somehow able to play for the USofA. And if they can’t, they’ll just change the rules once they’ve got voting majorities, to make it easier for their unserious players in their unserious league to be the BIGGEST and BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD (thank you for your attention to this matter, etc).

In all seriousness, the US needs about another 70 years of football to really get the understanding and passion for the game the rest of the world has. US being US though, it demands to be the best right now. Bit unfair on all involved. They do have some good players (my club has one), but the real depth of history and identity isn’t there yet. As long as they allow it to develop as a local team (for local people) with all the identity that involves, and not as some franchise you can transplant anywhere, they should be just fine. The structure of football globally means there’s plenty of experienced people to learn from. It takes learning and time and being humble, though. Which, well…

What's funny is that we at least have the passion part in spades... when it comes to college football. Dare I say college football fandom rivals football support in some nations (not all, especially in places like South America or Eastern Europe). But that's no surprise when you understand the history; like football, our teams date back to the 1800's and early 1900's in most instances and there's local/state pride when it comes to these teams. Also, at least the top college football programs, are bigger than the school's themselves.

But outside of that I think we're generations away from taking the sport seriously because any 40 and 50+ year olds currently running the show still think in American terms when it comes to sports ie franchising, salary caps, pay to play, etc. It's a fundamental problem that's going to take some time to fix, or at least improve, if that's even possible. And the current model when it comes to the US NT of just plucking the good-but-not-good-enough's of European national teams' player pools is how you become the eternal good-but-not-good-enough international side. I'll never take football or national team football in America seriously until we field a homegrown starting 11 and until the MLS doesn't have to rely on stars at the end of their career to draw in viewership. I could go on and on and on but what's the point? Lol.

The amount of pain a kopite suffers through at any given moment is never enough so this is a very welcome development, Slot gone by Christmas next season if they even make europe kek

Hitler has '100% trust' in his senior generals circa 1943

Bosnia just advanced to the World Cup over Italy on penalties, 4-2. Italy had a red card at the 40' on which the Bosnians could not capitalize- the game ended 1-1, and the extra time was scoreless.

Italy's last World Cup appearance was in 2014.
