Note that this is not "I was dumb to say that on a fledgling network", it's at best "nobody was smart enough to stop me from the obvious fucking backlash it'd cause".

And that's assuming this isn't her covering her ass. The bleeding cool article says everyone else was caught by surprise, as do the faces on the rest of the team.

actually, as does her own second line: claiming that g4 was all about diversity and inclusion in such a general way implies that she felt it was within the spirit of the show, which... if the first line meant what it's implying, makes no sense to include. Either her segment was approved and thus whether it's on-brand or not doesn't matter, or it wasn't approved but she felt it was on brand enough to include.

Assuming she's not lying, the most likely answer is that she was vaguely approved to do some sort of segment on Sexism in Gaming in general, but not specifically approved to make it all about herself and the G4TV audience. The Execs likely weren't reading the scripts exactly

Of course the G4 management knew all about her wokester insanity. It's why they hired her in the first place, and it's why they(briefly) white knighted for her right after she went off on her rant.

It was only later, when it became clear how truly catastrophic her temper tantrum had been, that management ghosted her, pretended her rant never happened, and they brought in eThots to shake their tits in an attempt at damage control.

Sadly, there were no tits in the world big and bouncy enough to keep that sinking ship afloat after Lady Greychoppers torpedoed it.

I mean, there's no way that G4 would've lasted too much longer than it did even without Frosk's rant. But, what did the execs think would happen when you just insult half the playerbase? It's the same playbook that Ninja Theory used for dmc: Devil May Cry or that Sony used with Girl Ghostbusters. Most people don't really respond well to being told how bad or awful they are. And those other examples only reinforce that.

Still, the relaunch was doomed from the start. It had nothing to offer that a zillion other better youtube channels didn't provide and there really wasn't any standout content. I do find it funny that when they axed Frosk, they decided to replace her with a former troon porn star who, coincidentally, fucked a guy who looks like Adam Sessler's AIDS-ridden clone. I wonder if being near the Sess gave Sue some flashbacks to the time he supposedly raped him?

Right after Frosk got the axe, which admittedly wasn't long before the channel went dead, they brought in Sue Lightning aka The Sphere Hunter aka the Golem.

The fact that Gamergate is still the go to boogeyman for when anything goes wrong (8 fucking years later I might add) in gaming is so depressing. They are never going to let it go. GG will be in history books. I'll add to that the fanfiction they have written about GG leading to Trump's presidency is hilariously detached from reality.

This is how X-Play/G4 TV should have been from the start. Just talk to legendary game devs and talk games with them. If you gave me a film crew, a modest budget, and Game Dev Zoom accounts I would have interviewed Ed Boon like this guy did, I'd interview John Romero, Todd Howard, Julian Gollup etc etc. They should have found a bilingual Japanese gamer who could do interviews with Japanese developers and then just added subtitles.

They could have been another No Clip, I love that channel even if some of the guys involved on there can be rather cunty on Twitter. But no they though Adam Sessler and Frosk could carry network. Foolish blunder.
