Game of Thrones Thread

So D&D were unexpectedly candid during a panel at the Austin Film Festival last week, and...well...

Let's just say that a) Hollywood continues to be a gaggle of 90 IQ dipshits who lucked into all of their money, and b) anyone arguing character endings in the show reflect even a little bit on the books is flat-out kidding themselves.
I especially love the reveal that Tyrion talking about Tysha in season 1 only happened b/c HBO wasn't willing to shell out for a battle, so they had to add in extra dialogue scenes to cover the time. That's also how we got the bit of show-only writing everyone pointed to defending these cretins in the Robert and Cersei scene.
Also what kind of moron is at this panel where you hear this level of bullshit regarding D&D's mindset behind the series and your next priority is "well why didn't you hire a stronk womyn of color to write it"?

Because she's an aspiring journalism major and she has to get her priorities straight.

Also fucking lol at that Q&A. These people fucking lucked into this shit being good for 4 seasons. I'm also really happy that they ruined fantasy for normies as GoT Season 8 destroyed the franchise. I hope Disney keeps D&D on the payroll along with Rian Johnson so the profitability of nerd shit can get obliterated and it can go back to being niche shit.

Is it obligatory that at every one of these panels or interviews some dipshit has to ask that question? I've seen it so many times, and it makes the person they're talking to so uncomfortable, and not in a good way.

I'm not sure if I should be sorry or not for rebooting this, but I just want to say I've finally begun watching season 1 of this after finding the show in the library because its expensive to buy and I don't have HBO. So far I'm on episode 8. It's a good show I'll say.
oh young deadwaste, you wouldnt even know

Game of Thrones being everywhere for years and then suddenly not just being over but being dead like disco feels surreal. Did they mess up that bad? (Answer: of course).

HBO spent A LOT of money for lavish parties before any season and the journos were very happy to be invited and part of it. Of course, they were then expected to say everything was perfect and tease how amazing the show is. The show was just hype and people were never involved with the characters, only with the idea of what could happen to those characters.

It's not odd that a show that is more know due to the fandom than for the show itself eventually disappears. Lost and Heroes were massive back then, and then they just disappeared.

That is because the Normies aren't fans, they are just consumers, as soon as the series ends they move on to consume the next series.

Supposedly D&D believed their writing superior, and that is why they shat all over the series.
Jesus. If this is true, Dumb&Dumber are the worst and just as bad as anyone thought they were. I just hope that their reputation in Hollywood and in the media world has been thoroughly fucked, but given that Netflix is throwing money at them, I don't think so.

And as I said, they should never be able to ever go to any fan event (no matter what kind) without massive crowds shouting "You fucked up GoT" at them.

Edit:
Ever since S8E3, I've not watched a single snippit of GoT on youtube, cause I felt that this single episode ruined the show so much, I would not be able to enjoy the old stuff even for nostalgia's sake.

Now I watched a few clips again and it's really bad.
I watch banter between Varys and Tyrion, I watch Tywin being Tywin, I watch Jon Snow working his way up the ladder in the Nightswatch and whenever I start to enjoy these moments a little, I remember how it all will come crashing down and the wet, lukewarm fart, that was the end of this show.

D&D should never get work ever again. Anything their name attached to should be boycotted. I am still mad.

While real fans stew in alternating anger/disappointment at the authors' refusal to finish the goddamn series of novels.

Why are we still talking about this show?
There are multiple successor shows in the works, with one already deep into production. Considering that this is SJW HBO, they are going to be the height of garbage. Not leaving us so soon, are you? We have such sights to show you.

A year ago, I got into an argument with somebody over which show was better: Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones

He told me, and I quote "Anybody who doesn't think Game of Thrones is the greatest show of all time is wrong".

Now I had to balk at this a little bit because I started to see cracks in the armor in season 7, but my oh my, the last season really mucked up his whole statement.

Now, Games of Thrones feels like a failure (at least creatively) and comparing Breaking Bad to it seems ridiculous.
