Season 8, Episode 2 Summary:
"Hey remember the time you and I did that thing? Yeah, that sure was something."

Now we wait for episode 3. Who's on your dead list?
Brienne OR Tormund - Brienne got her big scene this episode, so her storyline is essentially done. Either she dies or Tormund dies saving her.
Jorah Mormont - Got a fancy sword. Gonna die using his fancy sword.
Gendry - Banged Arya, shippers rejoice. Now he dies.
Theon Greyjoy - Unless Theon can implement his magical plot device teleportation skills, he's gonna die next episode.
Arya OR Sansa - I'm really suspecting one of them is going to bite it. Arya seems the most obvious since she's going to be on the frontlines, but at the same time, I kind of suspect Sansa to be backstabbed (literally of figuratively) by Dany somewhere in the confusion.

The real question is, "Are the showrunners stupid enough to end the army of the dead at Winterfell?"

For me, if you end the threat of them there....it basically is what the fuck was the point? You've got eight seasons of build-up and then you wrap up this looming, overwhelming threat in an episode? I mean, its entirely possible. They made the Night King's motivation pure garbage. But then you've got all of this build-up fizzling the fuck out. Its basically like saying "Ok, enough with this zombie shit, lets go back to plotting now that we've thinned the cast."

Assuming they're going to end the WW story at Winterfell (Which, again, is fucktarded in the extreme. But I don't put it past the guys who wrote '20 good men') then anyone not integral to the Iron Throne plot bites it.

Arya, Melissandra, Grey Worm, Jorah, Theon, Davos, Tormund and Brienne, Pod, Gendry. You no longer need them because you've got limited time in the season so you need to murder everyone not important, their stories are over. So, they all die.

If they DON'T end the WW threat at Winterfell, things get hazier. Which is the traditional narrative way to go. If they were going with traditional narrative story-telling, the big threat needs to continue as they've continually said its more important than the Iron Throne. Which means, if they do traditional story-telling, the next episode will have them lose. Its anyone's guess then who will live and die. But my gut tells me that they're going to end it there. Which is a shame, because it would have been amazing and emotional to have the army of the dead, the remnants of Winterfell and Cersei's forces all battling it out in King's Landing.

But this show has typically been narrative disappointment.

Imagine if DJ from Full House got naked in the series finale and fucked Uncle Joey. Yeah sure its "legal," but come the fuck on. Have some common decency.

But it would have made Full House more interesting...

so I don't quite know what the point was,

To grab headlines. Maisie Williams isn't a looker, but she does have a legion of thirsty bois looking to tug their tiny puds to her bare titties.

Thanks to the sloppy writing I'm growing to dislike all of the characters. I'm rooting for eternal winter.

I hope the battles will at least be spectacular.

I feel bad for Star Wars fans who are going to be subjected to D&D for several years to come. Can they be worse than the other new Star Wars clowns? I doubt it, but being better than dogshit isn't saying much.

Arya still needs to cross some names off her list so I think she might stay a few more episodes. I noticed when Maisie is out of costume and character she actually is good looking. But that’s just me. I found out they made her wear a binder and later a fat padded stomach during seasons 2 to 4 to make her look more like a kid.

I have a feeling Dany might die. John's revelation about his true parentage makes Dany obsolete. Snow is the legitimate heir to throne since he has a penis and is legitimate. I have a bad feeling about people taking refuge in the crypt. I just wish there could have been some twist where Jamie became a WW, marched to KL and eat Cersei.

Does anyone think the Azor Ahai/Promised Prince prophecy will be concluded and revealed?

Just finished watching ep 2, definitely better than ep 1 but really felt like 1 and 2 should have been one long episode. This last season is basically a HBO holding onto it for as long as they can until they can replace it.

I have a feeling Danerys will be dying from something or other and ask Jon to put her out of her misery and bang, Azor Ahai. Would be hilarious if Gendry did it instead.

Bookfags on suicide watch! Going after Brian Cogman one of the writers on the show.

Oh they're well aware. They're only pretending to outraged because it wasn't George who wrote it.

Then watch as it turns out he did when Arya fucks Gendry rotten in The Winds Of Winter.

As for the episode, just watched it and it's a nice set-up.

While everyone freaks out about a body double's sideboob and inch of buttcrack they missed a legit lovely sequence where Jaime knights Brienne, it's also good to see Sansa and Theon reunite and get along well. Dany's clearly feeling threatened by Jon too, maybe she'll attempt to kill him and that's what sets him off and kills her if Crows before hos doesn't kick in.

As for the deadpool next episode, I predict a bloodbath. Ser Davos, Theon, Edd, Tormund, Grey Worm and maybe Varys will all die.

I was on the verge of tears with the Jaime and Brienne scene.

Big fucking hmmm on that one. GGRRMM was a TV producer long before he started these books and I've often wondered whether this is really "a tv show based on a book" or something more elaborate, like a cross-media strategy disguised as a tv show based on a book by a guy who's only pretending to be too lazy to write an ending. The fact that everyone refers to the "showrunners" as D&D makes me wonder how much of that is just... roleplaying.

If that's the case then we're not off to an... amazing start if this season is where all those threads should pull together, but it's an interesting idea--taken to it's extreme you could script everything if you wanted to, right down to the actors' tweets and supposed relationship dramas in the pursuit of building an ultimate slow burn of an experience for the audience--and since GoT seems to be laden with metaphors for IRL politics and history it's intriguing. What I'm saying is: in the hands of the right authors, fucking tweens might be a flaming sword
