Game of Thrones Thread

This is officially worse than the ending to Dexter. I thought I was prepared because I read the spoilers (which are pretty much 100% ACCURATE, as confirmed by this episode) ... But this show keeps surprising me with the levels of awful-ness it can reach. And the memes will go on for YEARS.

I can't look away. It's horrifying and glorious at the same time.

The Game of Thrones subreddit actually had a pinned post with links to the suicide hotline and to "remember that it is just a TV show". They were very serious about it too, and all the comments were taking it seriously.

The fallout from this show and all of the people who invested heavily into it and screaming now is far more entertaining to me than the show ever was whenever I gave it a brief watch.

Considering that all of HBO's remaining shows are only about Transexuals and lesbians, they're going to have a massive plunge of viewers after GOT is over.

They're going to need a comparable show to bring people back or Turner may cut them before CNN. I don't think the prequels will do it because everything in those books won't have the same impact or excitement.

I pretty much agree with everything but let's not pretend like there's no basis for Daenerys going insane, she's from a dinasty that's been practicing incest for thousands of years and with multiple examples of rulers going fucking nuts, her entire immediate family all went batshit over time, Daddy Aerys? Batshit, Viserys? Batshit, Rhaegar? Probably batshit to some degree.
They even alluded to this all the way back in season 2 when she has a vision of the Iron Throne covered in snow, which turned out to be ash instead.
Of course that's not to say D&D aren't fucking hacks and it wasn't rushed and very poorly set up.
Yes, but Dany should literally be immune to this kind of fucking thing with the life she has lead. She knew she would have to crack a few omelets in order to get what she wanted. I think it's also terribly misogynistic, they set up Dany to be compassionate and caring, and in the end it was "haha, women are more fucking nutz because dey have all da powers".
The only true GOT style death belonged to Ser Gregor and the mountain.

A renewed run for ROME would be ace.

Fucking kek, the leaks were spot on. All hail Bran, the new King of Westeros next week. All that build up for a fucking autistic cripple to win the Throne...Simply amazing D&D. Wonder what line of condescending bullshit they will put out to justify this? At least the Onion knight and Bronn will live, possibly the only 2 non-butchered characters at this point.

From being compared to Breaking Bad and Lord of The Rings to this...GRRM must be wetting himself in excitement knowing that whatever he puts out will be better than the show, that his books will probably not become a footnote in the TV series history.

GRRM will now finish the books in two years and laugh in the face of the creators.

So people that were fans of Dexter, Lost, or How I Met your Mother, is this ending season better, match, or surpass the suckage of these examples?

Dude, it has surpassed any bad ending in television. A woman literally wins a capital city, the home of her empire. Then she hears bells and kills women and children.

It was barely fucking implied. There is absolutely 0 reason for her going insane. She's a little blood thirsty, but she's always been 'for the people', Not getting laid and hearing bells just makes her destroy her ENTIRE CAPITAL with the THING SHE HAS WANTED ALL HER LIFE. There's no defending this decision. It is senseless. There is no set-up for her. 'She might go insane because people in her past did' does in no way logically conclude 'she goes insane for no reason'.

She's seen people die before. She does not even go after Cersi, she burns women and children and even her own soldiers because she doesn't absolutely give a fuck.

Are you retarded?

She states in the scene before that she wants to be feared by people or else she won't rule effectively because she feels that they'll be drawn to Jon instead.

So she straight up kills the peasantry and enemy army because again in the prior scene she says they view mercy as a weakness.

That's the set up for her going A-10 Warthog on King's landing. She feels insecure abotu her position due to Jon's lineage being known so she's going to kill people until they submit to her.

It has nothing to do with bells or going insane.

Not to mention that there was really no true insight as to what was going on. All we got to see was some shots of the dragon gassing everything. Like, why are the writers giving more insight into what's going on with Arya after she pussied out? To make up for this, they have to reveal some demonic possession infiltrated by the Night King, which won't happen.

Are you exceptional?
LOL, being salty about someone else's salt is truly the most re-tarded.

I dunno, it still seems really shaky still just due to Dany being a pure Targ. It would still be a huge uphill battle for Jon, and he could easily be discredited.

You can't go from Spartacus to Genghis Khan in a couple of episodes, that takes time. At this point I want her to burn KL and everyone in this show.

It was everything I was hoping for and more. An utterly bizarre, completely unearned, gratuitous destruction porn of an episode to the point where I kept having Man of Steel flashbacks.
The guys who ended Dexter are going to bed thinking "at last, I'm vindicated by history. Thanks David and Daniel!"

Absolutely glorious. I had to pause multiple times because I lost track of what was going on due to wheezing laughter. I'm hoping the first of their two endings winds up being true for maximum "what the fuck?!" discussion next week.
