The thing I see wrong with the episode is that they made a point of showing Bronn get cut...by what was obviously a poisoned weapon.

I’m seriously feeling sick now after watching the latest Game of Thrones episode. That was unnecessary, not fair and I strongly recommend the writers to ask the women in their lives what they think of rape. Seriously.
- Judge Holden:
I am so upset about Sansa’s produced storyline in the TV show that I am sticking to the books and fanfics for the rest of my life. Fucking bastards.
- Judge Holden:
psa: if you gif or reblog gifs of sansa’s rape scene (unless it’s to constructively criticize the hell out of the filth that it is; but honestly, you can do that without visually perpetuating that filth), i will come to your house and kick you into the pits of hell where you belong also, feel free to never follow me in this life or the next goes for anyone who tries to “justify” this scene, or downplay it or defend d&d, too
- Judge Holden:
I was expecting dick&dick to do this to sansa but nevertheless i am shocked and disgusted and basically just wanna shred this show into pieces for absolutely destroying the characters from the books, ridiculing and humiliating them and doing them absolutely no justice I am not even sure whether i wanna watch the ep i am still in the scottish highlands til wed so i have time to think about and i am bad w rape scenes, i remember how traumatised i was w the jaime and cersei scene last season D&D you misogynistic pricks what the hell is wrong w you???
- Judge Holden:
Everything’s wrong with them. Everything. They are sexist assholes who see women only a piece of meat, use and ruin female characters only to cater to male audience, change characters’ stories for ratings aka money. The worst is that they don’t even respect female actors, when female actors refuse to be naked, they just fire them. I swear these two are not normal, they are literally perverts, disgusting piece of shits.
- Judge Holden:
I could write a novel-length essay about this, but all I will say is this: They raped Sansa Stark tonight, ripping her of the empowerment she had just two scenes before, and they made the moment about someone else, focusing the camera on Theon Greyjoy.
- Judge Holden:
“Even worse than the idea of Sansa needing this to motivate her into vengeance is the notion that the Theon character needed to watch her rape in order to snap out of whatever zombie/Reek fugue state he’s been walking around in. I’m afraid that is the show’s interpretation, based on where the camera lingered. But the last thing we needed was to have a powerful young woman brought low in order for a male character to find redemption. No thank you.”
- Judge Holden:
We all know it’s coming. The Walk of Punishment. A terrible, humiliating scene in which a woman is brutally punished, not for any of the bad things she’s done, but because she had extramarital sex. In the books, you feel terrible for her, because the writing makes clear how crushing this is. Even readers who think this character deserves jail time aren’t all comfortable with it. It’s unjust, sexist, and sad. And now D&D are adapting it for the screen. I’m out. I’m so out.
- Judge Holden:
Hmmm… I dunno what I found more distastefully about this episode- The fact the Slavers were Black people (so far the only black people in the show) or the fact that Sansa’s brutal rape was presented as a terrible thing happening to Theon
- Judge Holden:
So much man tears Way to rape a woman character for a male character’s development. And way to go fandom for praising the bejesus out of the male actor for his nuanced performance or witnessing rape. It must have been so hard for male character. Man pain everywhere.
- Judge Holden:
Sansa Stark deserves better than this. D&D have already proved they will deviate from the books and go in different directions. They could have done that here but NO. THEY WENT AND LET SANSA GET RAPED BY HER NEW HUSBAND.Inexcusable. I understand that this is Game of Thrones, and I understand that some fucked-up shit happens on this show. However, let me remind you all that in the books Sansa is 14, and the timeline of the show isn’t clear, so for all we know we just watched not only a girl who we care about get raped, we watched a 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL GET RAPED. I’m disgusted. This is just as bad, if not worse, than season 4’s Jamie/Cercei rape scene. There has got to be something we as fans can do to get how wrong this was across
- Judge Holden:
I honestly just want to cry because Sansa Stark of all people deserved her first time to be the most special, gentle thing in the world… or at least something that SHE chose for herself… and look what those awful writers gave her? I just… I’m going to go back to fantasy land where her first time was with Margaery Tyrell instead and definitely very consensual and loving and the furthest thing from painful.
- Judge Holden:
Also D&D were planning Sansa’s current story line since season two? When the actress was barely fourteen? Those turds were envisioning the rape when she was a kid? Like. What.
- Judge Holden:
it physically hurts me that i cannot enter my tv to protect a fictional character being raped
Yeah, this was toned down from the books and could have been a lot more disturbing. The "outrage" is stupid since the whole series has been teasing "Who gets to bone Sansa?" from Day One; hinting at Joffrey, Tyrion, and Littlefinger at various points. It was in the books, and it was lot more graphic and fucked-up
1) Fictional character
2) Baby killings, incest, and preggo stabbing - where do you draw the line? OFF SCREEN RAPE.
3) We could argue all day that there was no reason from a storytelling stand point this didn't need to happen, but hey, at least it wasn't dog rape.
That was overshadowed by the sadness over a dog dying at the same timeJust watch the infamous episode that triggered a million voices. It was really tame by GoT standards. Where was this outrage when Drogo took Daenerys? Or when a pregnant woman got brutally stabbed?
Those rapes were ok because Drogo and Jaime are hot I guess. Only thing I can think of.Where was this outrage when Drogo took Daenerys?
In retrospect the warnings are there.Welp. That happened. I think most of the people I know are in a state of shock still since I haven't seen a single friend of mine post about the episode yet.
I never understood why people liked him so much to begin with. He's always been a dick.I don't think I like Stannis anymore.
I think it's because he was fairly non-bullshit about the situation, is the only one preparing for the White Walkers outside of the Wall, and had a strange sense of charisma about him.I never understood why people liked him so much to begin with. He's always been a dick.
Though I do think he'd make a great ruler, or did, before the incident.
