I still see some chance of Stannis being alive... but something tells me it's a safer bet to assume he's dead. With Theon and Sansa I see a greater chance of survival, it's somewhat more believable that they would survive such a fall than Stannis surviving Brienne's sword. But then again maybe Brienne was remorseful and decided to spare Stannis? If Jon actually resurrects it will be with Melisandre's black magic. Remember that rogue priest of the Lord of Light who managed to repeatedly resurrect his friend? I can see Melisandre somehow pulling the same trick, possibly doing it to Stannis as well (if he's indeed dead). Then again her black magic doesn't seem to have much of a promise lately. I've thought that the sacrifice of Shireen will end in a rerun of Renly's death or something even worse, but apparently it only inflicted damage on Stannis's army.
Her magic is working perfectly well. While Stannis got his army's ass kicked, we have to assume that the Boltons lost some amount of their forces. She saw the Bolton's banners being torn down, but it doesn't mean Stannis did it. Littlefinger is on his way North.

I don't think Melisandre will resurrect Jon Snow. Why would she and how? Her power lies in King's blood, which is in really limited supply for her at this time. Also, Kit Harrington confirmed he's not coming back, so there.

Also, remember how resurrection via blood magic turned out for Khal Drogo?

Also also, that wasn't Lena Headey doing the Walk of Shame, as she was preggers.

(Daily Heil, but fuck it)

She's got plenty of King's Blood to work with, there's a whole mess of it under Jon. If Jon is indeed the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark he would be an heir to both the Iron Throne as well as Winterfell, that in itself could make him "special" enough to be resurrected. Plus it sets up Melisandre revealing his parentage. At this point, given the show's storyline and lack of key players like Young Gryff and Wyman Manderly, she's the only one who could reveal that information. It's all still speculation, but iirc GRRM himself has hinted at this being the case.
The prophecy in the book states something about 3 dragon riders iirc. In the books it seems like Dany, Jon, and Gryff. Seems like Tyrion will be replacing Gryff if that is the case.

I'm aware of that theory, but doesn't the holder of King's Blood have to be alive? Else why didn't Melisandre kill Gendry rather than be a cocktease and place leeches on his dick?

It worked out badly for Khal Drogo because the person doing the ritual wanted to kill him This is probably the more relevant example:

Davos slowed down the process and gave Stannis enough doubt to at least see if the leeches did anything before outright killing him. Stannis didn't agree to burning him until after Robb Stark died and he was satisfied that the blood magic worked.

It's been a few months since I finished Dance With Dragons but I don't think Jon's stabbing was as bad as they made it seem on the show. I know they ramped up how bad Grey Worm and Ser Barristan got it from the Sons of the Harpy. I want to say in the book it sounds like Jon's stabbing was more in the lower abdomen and far less malicious, so he'd be likely to take a while to bleed out unlike the massive pool we saw in the episode. Also, if she now has the ability to resurrect people it could provide an explanation for Thoros and Melisandre being weird together when she showed up to take Gendry.

I'll never forgive them for what they did to Dorne. The sandsnakes are like shitty xena villains. Other than that tho it was one of the better episodes, I like the connection they're giving Theon and Sansa.

They just couldn't fucking help themselves with the saggy tit shot though, could they?

I kind of like the Dornish coup subplot. It's showing how short term thinkers will always fuck long term plans, it's the theme for this arc.

You know you've spent too much time on the internet when...

You get to the scene with Franken-Mountain slamming the dude's head into the wall and for a second you expect the Dark Souls "You Died" message to appear on the screen.
