Gamefaqs - An old gaming website that still exists somehow

There is a good chance you registered with an account that directly identifies you when you got banned when you were a stupid teenager, and gamefaqs still has this on their servers. Just because you got banned doesn't mean they delete the account.

they most likely have a history of the changes too, so they can still see it if they want.

So now that we're in Super Clown World, let's see what far-left forum LUE's been up to lately. Remember, LUE's signup window closed around 18 years ago now, so every single poster there is, minimum, in their early 30s.

They have a Kiwi-esque thread on there titled "The Average Trump Supporter - They are still having melties edition" where they make fun of right-wingers in their own super politically correct GameFAQs janny-approved ways. It's full of the same kind of retarded woke takes you'd find on ResetEra:

and plenty of mental gymnastics to not even try to understand why anyone would do what they do:

And then we've got Talas, who is so perpetually mad at the internet that I'd imagine his house is like one giant tophat, like Patrick's rock on Spongebob. It's like he doesn't even live in the same universe:

So do you guys want him to promote the vaccine to a hesitant crowd or not? Come on, retard, get it together.

Well gawrsh, now I know you're a fucking genius because you awkwardly applied what you heard in a YouTube pop sci video to the GOP's views... somehow. He must watch a lot of Rick & Morty.

So, other than those, it's mostly a boring thread, just lots of potshots at random boomerposts, but that's just the nature of GameFAQs. Effortposts are always discouraged by the here-today-gone-tomorrow nature of their threads, and the overwhelming moderation on the boards shaped them into a shithole where users seem more concerned about getting in trouble than what they have to say.

Still, the lack of mocking Biden anywhere on LUE, even when fuckin' CNN's criticizing him, is pretty telling. Here's the current thread list today, and remember, these are 30+ year olds:

Whats funny / depressing is that the offshoot site, LueLinks was built to get away from jannies and had some great posters. Unfortunately it now itself is also basically a leftist echo chamber.

Gamefaqs is depressing. It's the same dozen dudes crying about the same shit they cried about 20 years ago. I thought it was pathetic when the college kids were crying about being foreveralones and shit when I was 13, imagine how it must feel seeing the same people crying about the same shit when I'm 32.

Yeah, it's staggering how there are so many old accounts pushing the 20 year point now, still going, never taking a break, with their karma system proving that. It's funny/pathetic how the one and only way they actually changed over the decades was how they went super far left and started getting Trump Derangement Syndrome. Other than that, they're the same sadbrained faggots they always were.

This is a very fun thread for me, but even I can't find much to mock during my quarterly expeditions into the bowels of GameFAQs that isn't basically something I posted before. I guess that's the nature of a very stagnant board that's stuck in the early 2000s in all the wrong ways, it's just a continual loop of the same shit forever. GameFAQs in 20 years time is just gonna be the very same 50 year olds still whining about how they never got laid in college and now they're in debt and have big medical bills from their slovenly lifestyles, posting their gofundmes for whatever ails them. All while still picking on one another and discussing the same usual consoomer bullshit they always discuss.

Of course there is a fucking professional wrestling topic on there.
Let's click it and see what they're discussing.

Thumbnailed because, like most of GameFAQs, it's very mundane, but that's all there is to laugh at. I don't follow wrestling at all, so if someone said something really retarded that wrestling fans would pick up on, I wouldn't know. The rest is zero-effort Reddit-tier commenting.

New thread popped up where they're talking about jobs they hated, though. There's just so much that I had to archive the whole thread, and I've left it attached at the bottom. Some highlights:

Our friend Talas is such a pussy that he couldn't handle being a cashier :story: It damaged him mentally due to having to deal with the stupidity of people? Yeah, that's what angsty sixteen year olds tend to say when they finally get a taste of the real world and realize that the general public can be rude and lazy. And it damaged him physically, too? You sure it wasn't due to any kinda unhealthy lifestyle decisions? Or perhaps something psychosomatic because you're such a whiny bitch that can't handle a basic 9-to-5?

I'd hate to eat at whichever deli hired him, there's no way he didn't spit in people's food for the most superfluous of reasons.

Yes, food industry work is fast-paced, and you wouldn't have gained as much weight if you were burning those calories off by, you know, moving faster. Pick up the pace, you fat retard.

What?

1629833858492.png

Hahaha, slick work, OP. I'm glad you triggered a retard with an unironic Rick & Morty quote in his signature with some goofy lyrics that even I didn't catch.

So, throughout the thread, the jobs these fags have worked are:
  • Telemarketer
  • Cashier
  • Deli worker (vague)
  • Food industry worker (vague)
  • Expeditor (Guy at a restaurant that apparently looks over dishes right before they're served to diners to ensure they're correct)
  • Case manager & "professional sensitivity trainer" at a mental health facility (though this is probably a shitpost, check the full thread screenshot)
  • Helpdesk (Call center work)
  • Another telemarketer
  • Waiter
  • Teacher's aide at a summer camp / food service / dishwashing / painting / bank telling / sales / "software things"
  • "night manager of the lube bay of a truck stop" :story: I have no idea if that's a shitpost or a funny way of describing his job.
  • "Made just above min wage in a cleanroom quality control for the electronics with a MS in mathematics." :story:
  • Another helpdesk guy
  • Pizza delivery guy
  • Another delivery guy
  • "working with a home oxygen company"
  • Another dishwasher
I think all of us have worked awful jobs at one point or another, that's just a big part of growing up. Ask me when I was 23 and I would have been thrilled to complain about them to you. But, time marches on, you find something better, and any kind of vitriol you had just passes through you. You've taken what you could learn from it, you've applied it to your talents, and the annoyances become a distant memory. Apparently not with this crowd, though. They're closer to middle age than their teenage years, yet they're whining about jobs like 17-year-olds who'd rather sit at home playing video games. So sad, many such cases.

It's an SJW infested hellhole with the most blatantly biased moderators to exist outside of maybe something that's an echo chamber by design, like ResetEra.

Every now and then I'll pop in, get banned fairly quickly for saying that something is gay or whatever, then forget about the place again for a while.

Anyone remember the good ole days when no one signed up for accounts and just lurked on the guide section (and maybe even the save section) for ASCII-formatted tutorials on how to beat a video game when YouTube didn't have so many playthroughs of it?

Went back not too long ago and reread a few of the reviews I had written for games 18-19 years ago. Got a chuckle out of teenage me’s writing and clicked on one of the boards to a rather obscure game I had written a review for…to see someone had made a thread bitching about my review in particular “only” giving the game a 7/10

haven’t been on GameFaqs in nearly two decades. Good to see it’s still autistic as ever.

I'm old but not that old.

I think the boards were there since I started going in 1999 or so, although I didn't sign up for the boards until like 2001 or 2002. I think it was around the time Melee came out.

It was a better time when I didn't give two shits about other peoples opinions on games and just used it for guides and codes though. It was a better time for gaming in general. Making gaming into a community or subculture ruined it.

That just shows how dead and pointless GameFAQs has become. There's nothing to milk because it's just the same dozen retards doing the same shit they been doing for 20+ years now.
I'm glad this thread got bumped, though. It's fun reading about how a 50 year old named "Vampire Wrath" flips his shit daily, on a long-dead gaming board, because he believes some people haven't gotten an injection yet. I like to hear about boomers named "barf_syndrome" who smell so bad even their pets want nothing to do with them, and seeing a whole forum where not one person's 'worst job' ever involved worrying about IEDs and stop-loss is... charming, in a way.

I used to use GameFAQs a lot, back in the early-mid 2000s. It's still a reliable site for retro game guides, and in many ways it is (or was) better than Wikis. I was only dimly aware there even was a forum - I'd occasionally spot an obscure games with one thread that says "I claim this forum!!!", which amused Teenage Snek - but I hope their community continues. It's rather like stumbling onto a remote Polynesian island and discovering a tribal cargo cult which has been isolated from global civilization since World War 2, only instead of airstrips and MREs, this cargo cult is based on video games and 90s/00s teen culture.
