Edit: Were you around for Dawkins? The guy that looked like a thumb and regularly flimed himself having altercations with police? His most famous was when he asked if he was free to go and then bashed his head on the cops car I think

I think I just remembered the lesbian went by Asherlee or something like that. I just searched up 'asherlee gamefaqs' and it seems their username was Asherlee10, and they're still active.

I don't recall anyone named Dawkins or anyone who fit the description you made.

Another memory just popped into my mind, some asian guy named Scion who kept complaining about how hard ghetto filipino girls were to get with in Daly City California.

A dude named Andor used to be hot shit on the Zelda OoT boards back when speculation was high and connection speeds were low. Those were the days.

When I came across her profile minutes ago after searching it up, I saw her account create date was July 2003. Lots of these extremely online liberals on internet forums have been extremely online liberals on internet forums for almost two decades, some for over two decades.

I'm glad I avoided that path. I've been increasingly offline, especially recently.

Dawkins/XSquader is the sole lolcow thread I made here because people like that were the reason I kept sticking around Gamefaqs for LONG after I otherwise got bored. Unfortunately this was early 2018 Kiwifarms where lower-quality threads were allowed and I didn't know how to archive videos (and the jannies didn't scream at you to back then) so I think his greatest hits (against police cars lol) are lost to the void. To be fair I was working off a hangover when I made his thread so it's pretty low-quality. Thread died after he sperged at Null for a few pages and got banned for posting links to log IPs which he then posted to his Facebook.

"Gris" was the sample word used in the rules to demonstrate what a "censor bypass" would be, which was autistically complicated. You weren't allowed to curse on GameFAQs so the rules page didn't have a real curse word on it. Posters would often use "gris" as an ironic stand-in for curse words, which was very much allowed.

Oh man I would watch this, I'm an oldfag so all I remember is like Luster Soldier and we didn't have readily available ways to record ourselves and post it online. The original iPhone came out in 2006 IIRC? And smartphones in general didn't start getting really common until a couple of years after that.

I remember LusterSoldier, for some reason he was so notorious he would get banned on sight, he would post in dead boards a lot. He didn't seem like an asshole. IPhone came out on summer 2007.
 
Luster was never banned on sight, he is just severely autistic and made 500+ accounts for reasons. He never really broke any of their retarded rules, or at least it was that way when I was there. He was still a teenager then though, and the mods (adults), were harassing him, making up fake accounts pretending to be teenage girls for him to obsess over and that was actually the straw that broke the camel's back. Can't use curse words but pedophilia is ok, excuse me that's ephebophilia. Can't "troll" or "flame" but of course that doesn't apply to the mods and their friends,

There were "secret," invite-only boards on the site where none of the rules applied at all and the mods could groom children. And to imagine that I was 18-24 years old and was just there to post about video games and still couldn't escape this toxic culture. There's no record of anything, all threads purge in a certain amount of time.

When actual children were writing suicide letters in forums, and some succeeded, the mods' response to "hey you should try to look up their IP/name and call in a wellness check" was THAT ISN'T OUR FUCKING PROBLEM NOBODY CARES. The owner didn't give a fuck about any of this either, who knows where he stands on being an actual pedophile (I know he's not there anymore). Once I got exposed to what was really going on there, I got the hell out. I never saw anything actually illegal either (but don't talk about ROMs lol), so there was nothing to report.

2022 has just started, and even though this post was made over a month ago, it breaks my mind as to how these kinds of people are now the game developers that trying to break into the popular indie game scene and are now calling the shots as to how triple AAA games could be made with their expertise.

GameFAQs indirectly, if not blatantly, support this kind of thing. It’s just bothersome to me.

When let it drop to an internet friend that I go to Gamefaqs sometimes I was basically told: "Bogey never go to the Gamefaqs forums it's worse than Twitter." I assured her that I only use it for for help with obscure retro games and never dreamed about registering on the forums and was told: "okay cool but NEVER GO TO THE FORUMS the worst people live there." And this was from a lefty (though a reasonable one). So I'm not too surprised by this thread.

There was someone on there who claimed to be a chick who was 18-20 who would regularly send me nudes of "herself" (although with the face typically blocked out) and would regularly try to get me to send nudes back when I was 12-13. And they knew what my age was.

When I wouldn't do it, they'd shame me on the boards for not doing it.

GameFAQs was really fucked up, now that I think about it. This would have been around 2002-2003 I think.

"How strangely erotic" was a response a user called DarkCobra posted to... something. I don't remember. He committed account suicide by writing a vulgar fanfic about CJayC and the mods having an orgy, iirc. It sparked a wave of account suicides on that particular board (LUE).

He was somewhat of a character himself, from what I remember hearing.
