Stereotypes, old adages, and all that shit we take for granted is always based on something. It's only the danger hairs who find everything offensive (while lambasting their own) or Redditors who don't understand that an exception is not the rule. But that's not even Redditors really, I find most people aren't even willing to engage in a "most of X" type talk, without massive platitudes. They also ran a poll the day before about what would be your lowest state.
The site has a huge number of older gamers and stereotypes are usually based off of something real. lol
The funny thing is that there's a consensus among psychologists that study stereotypes that they are broadly accurate, with the only potential exception being nationality.Stereotypes, old adages, and all that shit we take for granted is always based on something. Plucked from an A&N thread/article titled "The Dating Pool Dropouts - They've got the dream, but not the drive."But Ian Soltes, a 33-year-old overnight gas station attendant in Bridgeport, Connecticut, doesn’t want to look past his online “friend with benefits.”
He says he first met his online girlfriend on GameFAQs, a video gaming website that hosts message boards, when he was 13 or 14. They play video games together and message each other all day long (he told me he sent her a “hug emoji” during our interview).
“She has been more than willing to be very close and intimate with me online,” he said. “So any sexual urge I’ve had has been handled by that.”
There’s just one problem: they’ve never met in person or spoken on the phone. Soltes said she can’t because she’s mute.
“I’m pretty convinced it’s a lie,” he admitted. “But at the same time, if I challenge her on it, what’s going to happen? I’m going to find out the one person I’ve been close friends with for decades now is a guy? I don’t want to say I already know that, ’cause I don’t.”
He stumbles to find the right words.
“I’d just be losing a close friend, and I don’t want to risk that.”

At least when a guy tried pretending to be a girl to trick me on Gamefaqs in the early 2000's I got some nudes of some red head out of it.Plucked from an A&N thread/article titled "The Dating Pool Dropouts - They've got the dream, but not the drive."
Their forums have always sucked but most of their guides cut straight to the point without the bullshit and cancer of Web 2.0 sites, even for newer games.Wait people still use gamefaqs? That place is up there with animesuperhero forums and Newgrounds in terms of websites I haven't thought about in a long while.
That is fucking hilarious. I will never feel bad about any choice I've ever made in my fucking life. At least I don't have only one friend for nearly twenty years that I pretend is my girlfriend, that I don't have enough spine to actually talk to because then it'll prove I'm a fag.Plucked from an A&N thread/article titled "The Dating Pool Dropouts - They've got the dream, but not the drive."
Gamefaqs somehow got worse?GameFAQs has been particularly bad since we got deeper into the woke tranny era. It got pretty bad around GamerGate and the 2016 election as well, with all the alt-lite shit, but the forums are practically unusable now. It was always filled with some of the biggest assholes and vapid consoomer manchildren, but now you have moral grandstanding to top it all off.
Considering the place was already full of insufferable losers by 2004, they must have really been trimming the fat down over the past 20 years to the point where the lifers that are left are the biggest insufferable faggots imaginable, and that's how you wind up with the most repugnant manchildren on the internet, like vicious tranny defender CyricZ. If I had Elon Musk money, I'd buy GameFAQs just to watch that guy fall to pieces. It's his entire life's work, at this point.I can't understand how it could possibly get worse since I'd figure some of the lifers there have to be dying off between their crippling diabetes and covid vaccinations.
You know, come to think of it, that really explains why that retard felt the need to add some virtue signaling bullshit to one of his Harry Potter guides after JK Rowling "came out" as a "transphobe". Guy is in 40s at this point (or close) and his entire life revolves around shallow identity politics, disposable entertainment, and his guides for said entertainment.like vicious tranny defender CyricZ. If I had Elon Musk money, I'd buy GameFAQs just to watch that guy fall to pieces. It's his entire life's work, at this point.
I think he's closer to his 50's tbqhGuy is in 40s at this point
I wonder how that guy's doing now that a bunch of recent Xbox games are getting PS5 ports, and the whole thing with the whole Xbox brand ending physical copies for good.I used to hang out there regularly in probably 2012 or so. Was a big 360 fan at the time. Mainly was there for achievement guides and walkthroughs.
The thing I remember most was that on the 360 boards there was this one annoying little fucker who just constantly shit up everything with his fanboy xbox warrior sperging. He was one of my first lolcows. Words can't really describe the guy.
He'd pop into threads and derail with completely irrelevant shit about "sony ponies" and how Microsoft is basically god and anyone who dared question anything xbox did would get berated and followed around and called some variation of "sony pony," "salty pony," etc and screeched at to "go back to pony island." I remember his custom title was some random date with the caption "The day of salt on Pony Island." Pretty sure he was also hardcore right wing and brought that up a lot too.
The xbone launch really sent him into defense mode. He started making bizarre threads about the xbone outselling ps4 10 to 1 and other blatant lies, insisting it could do everything short of cure cancer basically, and constantly declaring victory over ponies. I kept expecting him to get banned but he never was. He may have gotten restricted from the playstation boards though because he kept going there and harassing people. Even the xbox people were getting sick of him.
Last year I was on there looking for something, and the guy is STILL there. I'd always assumed he was a dumb 12 year old troll or something but it turns out he's actually like 36 and completely dead serious. He'd been doing his thing there since 2006. Now he had his gamertag on his profile which brought up all his dox within seconds. The guy's entire life revolved around cheevos and "dumping salt on stupid ponies" and it was one of the saddest things I've seen.
Last time I saw him, he was considering moving to ResetERA to escape the toxic environment of gamefaqs. Good luck with that.
I've only ever used GameFAQs a few times myself and the last time I posted on there was ages ago when I wanted to know if FFVI was better on the SNES or PS1 because I didn't know if the PS1 version had the same atrocious loading times as Chrono Trigger did on the PS1, and some autistic faggot totally sperged out at me over that and I when I gave him a snarky response the jannies deleted my thread.I've only ever posted like two things on the GameFAQs forums, and both times I got really rude responses. Those retarded faggots treat it like a job they hate, even though they're voluntarily there, and they don't get paid.
It's only useful as an archive for guides for old games. I probably wouldn't have been able to get through SMT 2 without the site.Honestly what even is the point of Gamefags existing anymore, it's literally just become Resetera light, the only difference is that it doesn't have all of gaming "insiders" posting on it making it even more worthless of a site.
