"Nvidia could ship a literal piece of shit. They've done it. It's called the RTX 5050. It's on its way"

I would like to see him getting interview with Jensen Huang, but that ship has sailed.

Speaking of "that ship has sailed", here's the newest video where he's talking with an AMD engineer about BIOS hacking.
Jensen would never allow for something like this.

It's really sad how few views these get. Though I can understand why they wouldn't want to do basically a second weekly news video, I don't think anyone would have really minded. You wouldn't think gamers are really interested in fabrication plant tours and shit like that, but they gets plenty of views and nobody complains.

GN is basically already synonymous with consumer advocacy as well.

Remember, the split happened because there was a bit of drama with Linus, and some people got tired of it. I understand the idea of splitting purely technical (including interviews and factory tours) and purely social (including news and non-technical interviews) content, but their videos always had a bit of both, so what exactly is the line between the channels isn't very clear. Also, it makes me wonder what they are going to do with future investigations. If they remain on the main channel, the line becomes even blurrieer; if they migrate them to GNCA, they won't get nearly the same outreach (and won't pay for themselves). I guess the hope is to shill the big videos on weekly news, and hope the channel grows big enough to stand on its own eventually.

I’d be really interested to see that. I’ve been playing around with it on the Steam Deck and it’s really nice. I’m sure the smaller screen is doing a lot to hide issues with the generated frames.
I do wish there was a way to get it to respect frame rate caps since anything above 90fps is pissing away battery on Deck.

devs could always optimize their games but that's a art lost to time.
You might as well be asking for the moon on a stick.
To be fair, that’s one of the things the Steam Deck has going for it, with it being a fixed hardware configuration. I’m surprised how many games I’ve played have a specific Deck graphics preset.

devs could always optimize their games but that's a art lost to economic reality.
FTFY. The amount of devs nowadays that can even being to approach the topic is fast approaching 0. Back in the day you could reliably go to the lowlevel hardware (DX9x had this functionality, missing on DX9 on PC). The most you can do now is *maybe* figure out some stats about the chip, write your shaders minding the wave width and hope the shader compiler in the driver doesn't do anything stupid. But since drivers and compilers are now a moving target with updates, it just isn't worth the manhours. And with shit like lumen/nanite most devs don't even bother because "the engine will handle it"
