One thing that I've observed here is that everyone can fling shit on each other, to an extent even the head leader Null himself and not risk getting banned.
I'm sure there's exceptions, plenty even. Some mods pet-peeve issue, some protected group of users, dicksucking behind the scenes, etc.
But overall, there's a taste of the ol'Freedoms here.
And I miss that.
Ti's a pity gaming seems to be ruled by the dysgenics of our age and they seem to be fiercely protective and proud of their limited powers to abuse anyone being bemused. With one full sweep their Janny broom cleans all and any dirty words, memes and with them the peeps.
I don't know about you all, but I'm not the person to really go after anyone. I never harass people in their PM's or extend things to beyond the game that happened or the post-game conversation but despite this I'm increasingly finding it more and more difficult to stay sane. I'm a fan of calling a spade a spade. I'll talk shit about myself when I fuck up and serving the same cup of tea to others should be fair game. But Alas God forbid you call a tard a tard. Soon they'll AI moderate this shit and there won't even be anyone to bitch to.
The sad thing is I've seen people in these very same games abusing afk-system, sitting in spawn playing sim city while their team mates die, smurfing their little hearts out and plain ol cheating without action being taken.
Imagine:
Unless you're harassing someone or making illegal threats, there is freedom of speech here. "Use the ignore button if you don't like each other."
But that notwithstanding:
What Games, their communties and wider related communities do you know of that take this moderation thing lightly and/or focus it on actually disruptive or game destructive behaviour? Here's a few from me:
Games:
World of Warships/World of Ships
A pretty good game now split into its European and Soviet Russian versions. You command large ships and grind to get better ships to blow up enemy ships.
It's Freemium but relatively forgiving. Especially the Russian (latter) version that has a translation mod. The moderation on the Russian side is also more chill.
Moderation wise: You'll get muted by the automated system fairly often but I've yet to be banned a single time over several years of playing. Retired now due to questionable decisions by the developers in other aspects. But if you like ships and a kind of slow tactical action game this one is for you:
Project Kongor A.K.A. Heroes of Newerth
Dating back to 2010:ish this game was conceived as the successor of DotA 1. Previously financed and owned by the notorious O.G. Maliken*, now the Soap Salesman it has gone through several iteration reaching the point where it is today.
A highly addictive, fast paced, ruthless MobA considered the "fastest" in the group and whose community contiously is listed as the most "toxic" as well it's now in the hands of a mostly Russian collective of developers under the name "Project Kongor". Previously the company owned by Maliken was sold to a chinese company that a few years ago decided to shut it down but allow the community to run it for non-profit.
Although it has a seriously harsh Code of Conduct the moderation has been eased off on recently, at least in game. Perhaps coming to the realization of what kind of playerbase its dealing with. But fear not. It's also one of the few games that at least I still make relationships that feel real, even with people I get into fights with. Just like men are supposed to do, after a nice slap fight one finds what more we have in common than what divide us and often times I find myself breaking bread with the person whom I was breaking balls with.

Mech Warrior Online
You control giant fucking mechs that you blow shit up with, what more do you need to know?
Alright. Alright. It's basically a slow - to - very - fast paced FPS game. Depending on the class that you pick, giving everyone something that fits them.
It's "Freemium" but really gentle on the grind and has tons of free events which you can use to build up your roosted of mechs.
A complex game where every mech that you buy can be further customized in a hundred of ways.
Community wise it's a genuinely friendly and welcoming old-school community. Talking some shit happens now and then and I've yet to even be muted let alone banned over years of playing. But due to the close knit and cooperative atmosphere there's also far less of feeling to need to get toxic. Everyone are there just to have fun, the rankings don't really matter and are just a way to balance the game. Really worth taking a look. The forums on the website can be a bit unwelcoming to newbies and some users are a bit autistic with their game knowledge but if you don't assume you know everything you won't be called out for it either.
Project Reality
What do you get when you cross a bunch of veterans with a bunch of armchair generals? Well you get Warthunder and people actually getting banned in real life because winning on the internet is more important.
But add non-profit and you get Project Reality. A 20+ year old Mod for Battlefield 2 that is still going Stronk.
Basically a superior Arma/Squad with shitty graphics. Decent communtiy, excellent competetive scene.
Essentially no moderation. Just don't be an asshole, and use common sense? Never been banned except on a server that's now dead.

Did I say common sense? Strike that.
