Game's and their communities where you're allowed into slap fights without risking a ban - Change my view?

One thing that I've observed here is that everyone can fling shit on each other, to an extent even the head leader Null himself and not risk getting banned.
I'm sure there's exceptions, plenty even. Some mods pet-peeve issue, some protected group of users, dicksucking behind the scenes, etc.

But overall, there's a taste of the ol'Freedoms here.
And I miss that.

Ti's a pity gaming seems to be ruled by the dysgenics of our age and they seem to be fiercely protective and proud of their limited powers to abuse anyone being bemused. With one full sweep their Janny broom cleans all and any dirty words, memes and with them the peeps.

I don't know about you all, but I'm not the person to really go after anyone. I never harass people in their PM's or extend things to beyond the game that happened or the post-game conversation but despite this I'm increasingly finding it more and more difficult to stay sane. I'm a fan of calling a spade a spade. I'll talk shit about myself when I fuck up and serving the same cup of tea to others should be fair game. But Alas God forbid you call a tard a tard. Soon they'll AI moderate this shit and there won't even be anyone to bitch to.

The sad thing is I've seen people in these very same games abusing afk-system, sitting in spawn playing sim city while their team mates die, smurfing their little hearts out and plain ol cheating without action being taken.

Imagine:
Unless you're harassing someone or making illegal threats, there is freedom of speech here. "Use the ignore button if you don't like each other."
But that notwithstanding:

What Games, their communties and wider related communities do you know of that take this moderation thing lightly and/or focus it on actually disruptive or game destructive behaviour? Here's a few from me:

Games:

World of Warships/World of Ships

A pretty good game now split into its European and Soviet Russian versions. You command large ships and grind to get better ships to blow up enemy ships.
It's Freemium but relatively forgiving. Especially the Russian (latter) version that has a translation mod. The moderation on the Russian side is also more chill.

Moderation wise: You'll get muted by the automated system fairly often but I've yet to be banned a single time over several years of playing. Retired now due to questionable decisions by the developers in other aspects. But if you like ships and a kind of slow tactical action game this one is for you:

Project Kongor A.K.A. Heroes of Newerth

Dating back to 2010:ish this game was conceived as the successor of DotA 1. Previously financed and owned by the notorious O.G. Maliken*, now the Soap Salesman it has gone through several iteration reaching the point where it is today.
A highly addictive, fast paced, ruthless MobA considered the "fastest" in the group and whose community contiously is listed as the most "toxic" as well it's now in the hands of a mostly Russian collective of developers under the name "Project Kongor". Previously the company owned by Maliken was sold to a chinese company that a few years ago decided to shut it down but allow the community to run it for non-profit.

Although it has a seriously harsh Code of Conduct the moderation has been eased off on recently, at least in game. Perhaps coming to the realization of what kind of playerbase its dealing with. But fear not. It's also one of the few games that at least I still make relationships that feel real, even with people I get into fights with. Just like men are supposed to do, after a nice slap fight one finds what more we have in common than what divide us and often times I find myself breaking bread with the person whom I was breaking balls with.

Mech Warrior Online

You control giant fucking mechs that you blow shit up with, what more do you need to know?
Alright. Alright. It's basically a slow - to - very - fast paced FPS game. Depending on the class that you pick, giving everyone something that fits them.
It's "Freemium" but really gentle on the grind and has tons of free events which you can use to build up your roosted of mechs.
A complex game where every mech that you buy can be further customized in a hundred of ways.

Community wise it's a genuinely friendly and welcoming old-school community. Talking some shit happens now and then and I've yet to even be muted let alone banned over years of playing. But due to the close knit and cooperative atmosphere there's also far less of feeling to need to get toxic. Everyone are there just to have fun, the rankings don't really matter and are just a way to balance the game. Really worth taking a look. The forums on the website can be a bit unwelcoming to newbies and some users are a bit autistic with their game knowledge but if you don't assume you know everything you won't be called out for it either.

Project Reality

What do you get when you cross a bunch of veterans with a bunch of armchair generals? Well you get Warthunder and people actually getting banned in real life because winning on the internet is more important.

But add non-profit and you get Project Reality. A 20+ year old Mod for Battlefield 2 that is still going Stronk.

Basically a superior Arma/Squad with shitty graphics. Decent communtiy, excellent competetive scene.

Essentially no moderation. Just don't be an asshole, and use common sense? Never been banned except on a server that's now dead.

Did I say common sense? Strike that.

I truly hate privacy settings, some faggot nigger on PSN shouldn't be able to set his messages to private so he can have his little safe space, he needs to know I called him a retard and told him to kill himself over a video game.

MWO is certainly not one of those games. Mildly criticizing the game on the MWO forums will get you IP banned from the game and sent death threats by one of the GM's via email.

You call someone dumb on the steam forum you get a 6 month ban.
Got damn do those mother fuckers get on my nerves. There will be the most inflammatory posts imagineable defending the most heinous shit, and its A-OK because they didn't insult anyone directly. But you call them a retard, asshole, dipshit, fucking anything, and you're the one catching a community ban. That shit hole is almost as bad as Reddit.

Thread tax: Literally nothing comes to mind. Ultima Online is the closest in my experience and thats only because-
1. The "main" discord jannies abandonded it years ago. The remaining players that aren't hypersensitive faggots about "mean words" can usually be found here.

2. The game is nearly 30 fucking years old and has primarily boomers as its operators and players. As such, no modern kind of reporting system exists, nothings been upkept and with a skeleton crew of staff members, GM's can't really action you unless they catch you in the act.

3. While I can't give you exact player numbers, the game has very obviously been on life support for years. Due to this, the moderation staff is very VERY frugal with issuing actual bans to subscription accounts. You pay to play and you get caught botting/scamming/ect? 3 day suspension. They need your money. I can tell you this from experience.

The main forums are a waste of time though. Its pretty much owned by 5 deranged boomers who repeat the same stupid shit endlessly, and any kind of criticism or complaint is met by the lifeless forum moderator actioning you because you criticized the fantasy world they've spent 30 years of their life living in, or being a passive aggressive dumbass and inserting themselves into the inflamatory drama instead if doing their job.

Definetly not a bastion of free expression, but you can get away with A LOT due to the circumstances. If you want to get in a slap fight, just wait till later in the day when the geriatric GM's clock-out and go to town. Most of these fossils barely know how to log into the game, let alone work OBS and send "video proof" to the right place. On the off chance they do? See #3. The community of candy asses don't approve of it, but it's ultimately a case of "what the fuck are you gonna do about it, BITCH!?". Their safe space needs income to stay solvent, they're a (literal) dying breed, its an incredibly difficult game to get into because boomers being boomers documented so little, and because the game has never been properly updated to keep up with todays standards, both on the backend and front end, it really only appeals to niche autists like myself.

Why do I play? Theres a certain itch that can only be scratched by running circles around boomers in a game that they've been playing almost as long as you've been alive, and laughing at them for it.

Maybe PS3's PSN if you have a compatible Bluetooth mic? I know people are able to report you on PS4/PS5. I don't think it exists on PS3.

I consider it behind enemy lines. They don't want you there, just by being there you disrupt their consensus work. That means their fake reviews, their curated fake boards, their fake narratives about usage data, etc, its all laughed at and mocked because real users are there and participating and talking about it.
Give games the negative reviews they deserve, but don't give them a piece of your mind. Don't get yourselves banned.
>developer sucks
>game sucks
>story sucks
>community sucks

and don't elaborate, just move on. they deserve those negative reviews though.
Steam boards end up in Google searches on game topics, and usually are a better result than Reddit so treat them like that's all they are. If you know an obvious answer to a question that's going to come up and someone will search behind you then answer it on Steam.
Until there is an active paid effort by factions of normal people to occupy unpaid janitorial jobs on large information spaces (like 4chan, Reddit, Steam), then jannies are mostly going to be drawn from groups that have political motives (including corporate interests). Any space that has significant influence (like Steam) is going to have political groups (that are funded) targeting moderation positions.
The information war is happening, and its supremely lame to have to participate in it but our politicians and bureaucrats are blackmailed scumbags, or the blackmailers themselves, so there are no agencies fighting all these special interests on behalf of the people.

Depends on the game. PS3 GTA 5 is where I caught a perm-mute for daring to call niggers what they are. But the 12 year olds calling you "nigga" every other word while their 'parents' argue/beat their sibling in background is acceptable, somehow. In a game like that, being muted for mean words is honestly far more insulting than being banned. Same game where the whole premise is living out your criminal nigger fantasy. Makes no sense.

Sure, you can send them inflamatory messages over PSN, but it just isn't the same as telling them "shut the fuck up, nigger!" and sending them to respawn.

the forums are up to the individual devs, not valve. it's like reddit where every subreddit has it's own "code", but unless something changed recently there are no superjannies trying to suck off valve admins.

there's also the argument that valve unironically monetized acceptable shitposting via jesters. you can say the most disruptive, outlandish shit, but have to conform enough to not get your post nuked meaning no more jesters.
downside is ironic shitposting is still shitposting which doesn't improve the discussion at hand. also steam being normalfag central you get the most reddit-tier opinions.

I've caught temp bans on the Yasuke Simulator community twice now, and I can tell you it sure as shit aint a shitposter like that dev doing it. I've also caught some on other shitposty games where it was quite obviously a Steam-trannyjanny with a hair up their ass. More than half the time other than having a singular insult, everything else in an actioned post is completely in-line with the thread at hand.

While devs can issue the bans, it seems Valve themselves have been doing them too as of late. What really pisses me off is if a dev or two have a particular hate-boner for you, permabanning you from a discussion forum can ban you from using the community options, including the fucking marketplace, entirely. No faggot game dev should ever have that level of power over my fucking Steam account. I know this because one of my tempbans on one had me locked out from even buying fucking cards until it expired. This seems to happen if you catch a couple in a short span of time (I think it was around when Dustborn and Concord released, so thats self-explanatory lmao) of around a couple days. While you kind of have to go out of your way to have it happen, with how insular game devs can be, pissing off the wrong vindictive faggot with a critique or laughing at them can end up in your entire account being gimped.

I've called people nigger on Dota 2 and have not been banned. It has been several years since I last played, however.
voice chat is 100% unmoderated in dota.

Yeah, Valve jannies tend to moderate at times, never understood the conditions for it. You see it all the time in the Suicide Squad forum where Valve jannies do all the moderation since Warner Bros abandoned ship.

While I praise Steam for most of the things they do, the community tranny jannies truly are the fucking worst. I got a 3 month suspension for posting reviews because I quoted a Sam Hyde rant about devs not being able to make games like this (it was in a review for Max Payne 2 that I've made) because they're too busy being sissies that make games for little kids.

When you're suspended from Steam, are you able to buy or access your games?

Webfishing was shilled by gooners for being pro-sexual grooming and by 4channers for being pro-free speech because you can write.. nigger?

Then the developer ditched his own official Discord once people started making noise about the fact he did nothing to moderate what became a lgbtq grooming grounds because most of the cosmetics leaned into sexual innuendos and people immediately made nothing but porn of the game (also ingame).

But hey you can say nigger, so based!
