He's blaming the whole thing on PTSD and a panic attack which is a giant red flag that none of this actually happened. Severe anxiety attacks will make you feel like you're dying and cause paranoia but they're not going to make you go on twitter and maliciously accuse your ex employers of crazy shit. On the extreme end of things, PTSD can cause full on psychotic episodes but you're talking war trauma or future serial killer levels of child abuse trauma to get there. He sounds like every other cluster B basket case on twitter that lies their way into legal trouble and tries to bullshit their way out of it with childish ideas of how anxiety disorders and PTSD work. There's no reason to feel sorry for his targets because they've spent their entire games "journalism" careers encouraging and enabling this kind of shit for ideological reasons.

Think there will be any lolsuit because of the sktizo ramble? Saying your boss is covering for sexual abuse of children is a really dumb thing to say on twitter. Especially against something with money behind it like Vox media. Then again, would they risk giving a win to anti-sjws? Because that would be reported on by the youtubers like Quaterpounder. Ben has been a high tier faggot for years, and i think this is just a general karma smacking. Him blaming the PTSD is just nonsense. I would bet he got piss ass drunk and he started thinking about Chris and seething about being out played at office politics and the firing. So he fires up his twitter and goes on a ramble thinking that he is the Commissar General of cancel culture and that by judgement of twitter rage he would be installed as Vox's new CEO to totally pwn Chris. Sobers up, realizes he may have said things that could get him served, DFE's it all and blames PTSD in an effort to dodge responsibility.

Game journalism was a great racket in the early-mid 10s, even by the standards of journalism which of course was also a great racket for zero talent spergy writers. They got free money from the government via their parent companies, even freelance journos were making like 30-40K/year to shit out abject garbage and (later) whine about Gamergate, and the bigger names at Polygon, Kotaku, etc. were making huge money also writing garbage. Didn't know or care about vidya? Great, you're hired!

But then Trump came along and cut the free money to the companies, Gawker got sued into oblivion so all the other companies had to be more careful, Youtubers stole the audience and the ad revenue, and the Gamergate Nahtzees just wouldn't go away no how many times they were told off in articles and tweets.

I don't think so, he's not part of a platform that is really running against them, he is just trying to get back on the train by potentially throwing other people off of it.
If he's got some horrible some truly gamergate-shit to unleash he will be sitting on it hoping that he will once again get 100k to look through game reviews or wtf he did.

Yea i get the feeling it was petty revenge, to get his job back. It is just the pedo covering accusation is really bad thing to say about a company PR wise. It was more me wishing he would stumble in to legal trouble so we could laugh at his depositions. Ben aint got shit to use like that. At most he could drop backroom chat logs of them sperging about GG, which we all know about anyway. We all know most of the faggots had chats where they wished all the GGers dead and all horrible shit. Nobody would care about that. It would have to be covering for rapists tier of drop, for Ben to have that and use it as insurance. After that absolute sperg out, they would know to not take him back. To do so would look bad on them, like he had something on them. Chris i would bet has a copy by now, and is using it to gain clout behind closed doors with Polygon. It would be a case of the journos burning the bridge with him i would bet. Erik Kain weighed in on the Kuchera meltdown (Archive) and pointed out that Maddy Myers took over a big part of his job in 2020 after freelance writers publicly accused Kuchera of the same editorial abuses he would later accuse Plante and Meyers of doing to him. It also recounts a lot of GG era hypocrisy from Kuchera that I had forgotten about. So yeah, he's clearly seriously mentally ill (either cluster B or full on schizo) in a way that has fuck all to do with anxiety or PTSD.

That said I wouldn't be surprised if one thing he said is true, that is, that his child was molested by one of the pedophiles he's associated with for years.
 
As someone that has been in the editor's seat as well as the writer's, I would say it's not uncommon for an editor to rewrite chunks of an article, especially if the article is sloppy or unreadable, and there is a tight deadline that makes it impractical to go back and forth with the writer. Especially if the writer is a freelancer - fairly or not, these freelancers are often seen as "lesser" and hence replaceable.

Given how Kuchera can ramble on and on incoherently on his social media, I can imagine his editors forced to take a proverbial hatchet to his submissions in order to get them into shape.

The general problem with these guys though is they rewrite stuff not for quality (because the absolute garbage they publish looks like it was written by retards) but to inject the personal politics of whoever is doing the editing, attacks on targets the actual writer didn't want to make, etc. and then the "writer" (who didn't actually write this shit) gets all the backlash for it.

I have no sympathy because if you work for Voxtakugon or whatever, you deserve to burn and die, but that's the actual problem.

Ah, but there's the rub. This is EXACTLY why you hire a straight white cis male. They're the ones you can fire with impunity. Polygon would be scrambling right now if it were a black troon making the same allegations. They'd be hitting the front page on Twitter. With little Ben, they can just laugh.

Also, it's extremely odd how he's shrieking "my kids are being sexually abused, I have documentation!" as if it were an ongoing event. Where exactly is this happening? Inside his own home and he can't stop it? At his ex's home, but CPS won't step in even though he has documentation? This sounds as credible as his articles about Pewdiepie belonging to the Einsatzgruppen.
 
Sadly for actual victims and survivors of abuse, these people misuse the word "abuse" (and "rape", "harrassment", "assault". "racism", "Nazism", et so forth cetera) so much and so often that the first reaction to these allegations tend to be an eyeroll and a muttered "Bitch, please."

Especially when it's coming from THESE people.
