He's blaming the whole thing on PTSD and a panic attack which is a giant red flag that none of this actually happened. Severe anxiety attacks will make you feel like you're dying and cause paranoia but they're not going to make you go on twitter and maliciously accuse your ex employers of crazy shit. On the extreme end of things, PTSD can cause full on psychotic episodes but you're talking war trauma or future serial killer levels of child abuse trauma to get there. He sounds like every other cluster B basket case on twitter that lies their way into legal trouble and tries to bullshit their way out of it with childish ideas of how anxiety disorders and PTSD work. There's no reason to feel sorry for his targets because they've spent their entire games "journalism" careers encouraging and enabling this kind of shit for ideological reasons. He said in one of the tweets that he provided the court documents, but I don't get how that factors into a reasonable argument. Even most bottom of the barrel jobs offer (unpaid) leave of absence if requested, no justification needed. Did somebody at Vox rape his kids, like on-site daycare? But if that's the case, I don't get how the editor factors in, there really is nothing Plante can do.
Of course, I'm probably thinking too hard and expecting a dipshit to not be one.
