I can't believe that it's been over a decade since Hulkamania ran wild over Nick Denton/Gawker and did what so many others like Quentin Tarantino, The Daily Mail, Condé Nast, and even the fucking Scientologists couldn't manage to do, and take down Gawker for good. Yet somehow these people and the various offspring websites keep popping back up like cockroaches, or those dumb little candles that re-ignite after you blow them out. Seriously, Gawker itself has been "relaunched" at least twice, Jezebel, Deadspin, and Kotaku have at different times all been in various states of "inactivity" and actively published off and on over the past half decade. And there have been numerous complete staff turnovers, layoffs, format changes, hissyfits, and other issues at all of their sites. Yet these same people are always in that circle, either through Kotaku directly, another Gawker offshoot, or through one of the other various media companies they've been involved with. One of The Root editors has deep ties with The Washington Post, and a cursory glance at Wikipedo shows that the whole online journoscum scene is, to quote a weird guy, "It's like one big inbred fuck fest (Sies!)"

You used to go on their site and be able to make fun of everyone, in any absurd situation, and you could easily laugh at something they put out. Nowadays, I don't think you could beat a sense of humor into their skulls if it were a railroad spike, and you had a 10lb sledgehammer. Seriously, maybe it's me, but I just find the endless and boring overdone one-sided political bullying just tiresome.
