General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Recent happenings with lolcow Rekieta and his friend Coomalot have introduced me to the world of vtubers. Since I am sad, lonely and crave a parasocial relationship with a female I think this vtuber thing could be what I'm looking for. Could someone please recommend me a vtuber to watch?

I like Pipkin Pippa's quirkiness and humor but her tendency to literally screech makes it impossible for me to just chill with her stream. Someone recommended Shondo / FallenShadow to me and I did find her quirky and funny. However, I am not a pedophile and don't want to listen to someone talk like a toddler while looking like a 1000 year old dragon.

Do I ask the impossible to find an interesting and funny vtuber in the same spirit of Pippa but doesn't screech and isn't some pedo lolibait honeytrap?

try kirsche? (she's more of a twitch streamer but puts content on youtube sometimes). she's like a crazier but calmer version of pippa.

The collaboration of some vtuber veterans is starting soon
Also Cover scheduled the first two advent debuts into the Holo Summer Swimsuit Karaoke Relay. I guess that's how they are trying to promote them to jp fans. The en participants are Kiara, Ina, Fauna, Calli and Irys

The eyes are something of a design quirk of the artist, you can see the trend if you look at Shiori's artist sister in Nijisanji Sukoya Kana

Anya’s 3D debut was today. It was absolutely fantastic. She had several guests, call ins by two seiyuus she is fond of, and showed off TWO orisongs. She performed songs with Kanata, Watame, and the rest of Holoro. She performed her first orisong, Unreal Veil, at the end of the debut and then teased another called Everlasting Knife. Unreal Veil will get an MV in a few days as well. The merch she showed off was a cushion of her face, lol.

I’ve been waiting to see this for a long, long time. It shattered any expectation I had for it - it was that enjoyable. I am so glad Holoro finally got their debuts after years of waiting.

Assuming I remember, I’ll add some screenshots and links later today.

I'll recommend sleepy project. One of Pippa's friends, plays lots of Escape from Tarkov on Twitch and trying out YouTube for some other stuff. Maybe a little less terminally online than Pippa. Likes guns and has done a few gun streams on twitch.

if you're entertained who the fuck cares? you wanna fuck her? no? then you're obviously not a pedo. look at it like an act, or a character (because that's what it is) and just roll with it. there are people who find watching vtubers at all cringe, at some point people need stop giving a shit what others might think. still a good idea to hide your powerlevel around normalfags tho.

pippa doesn't screech each stream (but when she does it's usually hilarious due to chat riling her up), imo the rare times she's on twitch it's usually more chill. lumi might be worth checking out too. for comfy parasocial there's THE chikafuji lisa. good idea to check the rest of phase, they all have their own niche that might work for you (or not) - also idol, eien or prism, the latter makes it very easy to watch: https://schedule.prismproject.jp

Pippa joined the Fediverse. Interestingly, this instance does not block poa.st, and they properly federate back and forth for the most part. She already followed Metokur & Gator.
