General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

i thought it was because she was a literal pro FPS player like 10 - 15 years ago, Maybe my memory is failing me
Was there even a legit pro scene in 2006? That issue aside, the stories she told about always losing racing games to her brothers and getting playfully beat up as punishment indicates at best shes in her mid 30s (the most likely racing game she's referring to being MK64 on the account of the n64 being the first 4 player console)

Based on the doc I got from the JP side she's late 30. I made an account because I got tired of everyone saying she's 40+.

I won't pretend to know all the details like if she mentions on home consoles or some detail like that but you seem to be neglecting Arcade, which I will admit to having no clue on if a 3+ player game existed in the west let alone the east, but for other means I remember this one (spoilered for image size) specifically that well predates the N64 as I owned it though never got to play it multi and I assume there were others for other systems using things like the Playstations multitap or other accessories to get around usual 2 player limit

Edit - A quick google shows yes there was an SNES multitap and at least a couple of known racing games compatible https://nintendo.fandom.com/wiki/Super_Multitap

Ill admit there are some really obscure options on the table, but them being so obscure is what eliminates them for me. Botan grew up in a bad part of town and pretty poor, so extra after market accessories and obscure stuff like above are very likely off the table.

I don't actually follow Botan that close. Is the part about her grown up in the "bad part of town" refer to her real childhood and not just part of Botan the lion lore? Is she growing up poor like Kanata?

Accounting for arcades, 4+ players racing was possible since before 1990. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Lap (up to 8 players, released 1987 in Japan)

2006 would have been in CS1.6's CAL aging but still hot years. CAL was huge in the mid 2000s, although obviously nothing compared to the post 09 boom all esports went through with the rise of streaming. If she was "pro" at the time, in an FPS, it was almost definitely 1.6, but possibly Quake/UT which also had minor scenes. Do note I have no idea if any of these games had active Japanese networks for scrimming at the time, but if they did, that would be it. Context: got up to CAL-M around 05.

I'm not sure why people thought Karen would give up on DD completely. Once she exits out of Holo she'll definitely want another online presence to fall back on.
Of course she was not gonna kill it completely but put it to sleep for the time being when she is still in Hololive.
I think the song is also about her old friends who left behind or had falling out for reasons unknown and saying goodbye to them.
It may have took time for her to get comfortable in Hololive but she finally has and i am happy for her.

Poor fox. Being subjected to Pippa's Fandom. I feel for her.

I've played lolisouls before for a little. I guess I'll need to revisit it now. I remember fighting Polka's boss but I don't recall if there was any VA or if that's new to the 1.0 release. That was also from before I knew of Hololive. So I could have just not picked it up :P
