It was a culmination of discovery of her old online identity on which she was a coombrain teenager spewing sex jokes (including about compensated dating) and her inserting herself into an old controversy with very... novel takes that went against what the alleged victim of the alleged black company Ichikara (yes, she called them that) said herself. The latter was used as a justification for dox and IRL harassment but idiots on reddit obviously dumbed it down to gachikoi getting mad about a sex obsessed teenager polluting their seiso holowaifus (even if some hololive members do "worse" than joke about sex, not that redditors would know since they willingly blind themselves).

I don't know if you've ever had a pet for long time, but as she's describing it Taco has been with her for much of her life. That level of bond is like losing a family member when they inevitably pass on.

I'm pretty sure she identifies as a woman, mostly because on the Dottovu Q&A she says that her gender is quite obvious to the majority but prefers to stay gender neutral online. Her saying it's quite obvious pretty much tells me she thinks of herself as a woman, otherwise it wouldn't have made sense to say that.
