Well the hypothetical situation is one where them being a vtuber is no longer tenable. Seems unlikely now but larger content creators and trends have come and gone during Youtube's lifetime. In my eyes the two most likely scenarios would be the lower end falling out of range of financial viability, and an idols voice being permanently damage to the point where they can't stream with it. In the former scenario a VA gig could happen if Cover has the right connections, in the latter I could see them assuming a talent management role if they still needed the work. I suppose there are also members with the skill to become Vtuber models, but I don't really seeing any of them being in a situation where they couldn't pursue a career without Cover's help.


I mean obviously we are all in our armchairs when it comes to estimating their income, so everything I say is just a guess. That being said I wouldn't really put much stock in them getting a lot of money from merch, selling a product is always gonna be far behind getting given free money, especially if we equate it to a year of Kson if she remains consistent or grows. Not to mention that Kson can sell merch too. The sponsorships I think would vary a lot depending where it is coming from. My guess would be that when it comes to the mainstream normie product stuff they may not actually be getting a huge pay out, even if they barely got anything you could make an argument that stuff like the AkuShubaPeko ramen sponsorship are still worth it because of the exposure and the way it legitimises Hololive as a brand. On the other side of things I could see them making bank on getting paid to play shitty mobile games and shovelware, but again this is another thing Kson can do is so inclined.

So in the end the only advantage I see the Hololive girls having is the salary and mainstream sponsorship. I think it is also fair to say that Kson has an advantage over them when it comes to game sponsorships and merch deals because she gets the full sum and doesn't have to give Cover a cut.

Kson will have 100% of her merch but she needs to pay for those first before they get produce no?

Edit: I want to say this: So what, does this mean that Holo EN can't even collab with anyone from Niji EN at all but Holo JP and Niji JP can collab just fine? This is kinda disappointing IMHO.

All things considered on this debate that came up, I think the simplest explanation is Niji has significantly more to gain than Holo doing a collab, so it's most likely Holo management being protectionist/bunch of faggots yet again. A Kiara/Pomu collab would be amazing content, and I'm sad it's being denied to us.

Looks like that screenshot was from the "unwrapping" death. Even Calli was horrified (well, laughing while horrified) by the barbed wire. I didn't catch Ina's reaction to the latter because her movie was a good 20-30 seconds ahead of Calli's at that point but she hadn't noticed yet.

It's possible that the employment contract makes actual streaming collabs and Twitter interactions two very different things. I could believe that IF Kiara was barred from collabing with Pomu, she still could and absolutely would tell management to fuck off about them tweeting at each other. I've seen it quite a bit actually, just had Luna's electone stream on one monitor while catching up on archives and she had subscription-only mode too. I think Pochi-sensei has it a lot. Sometimes it doesn't tell you with the popup, but if it says "Chat publicly as..." then that's subscription mode.
It's probably not very effective without active moderators to back it up, but I don't really see a downside either.

Marine is the kind of horny where she's openly needy but too modest to make any actual advances. Makes her thirst more endearing. Kiara is much more pushy and a bit of a disaster lesbian but won't really try anything. Matsuri is just straight up a predator and a sexual harassment scandal waiting to happen. Several of the girls have talked about her creepy, unsolicited touching and such which is why I generally don't like her and refuse to watch her.

Pretty sure there have been stories about Marine touching other girls without permission, it just doesn't tend to come across in a bad light. Maybe I'm just biased or high on copium, but I get the impression that Marine has the sense to understand who's going to be ok with what. No, she can be very up front about wanting to make friends and talk to people, which can be over powering, for example Ayame. The person that will sexually harass you is unironically Matsuri. It's been rrated so long that it goes back to /hlg/ on /jp/ that Matsuri scares away any Hololive collabs. There was even a clip where it was I believe Matsuri recalling that someone warned gen 2 about how handsy she can be.

It doesn't help that Matsuri's an actual menhera, with equally crazy fans and is really easy to poke fun at.

The issue with an FGO or Genshin style game is that it would pit the members against each other in a kind of ranking. Is Suisei an SSR and Matsuri only an SR? Who's just an R? Dividing up the members based on rarity would be seen as saying some are better and more valuable than others, and that would anger a lot of fans.

I'm sure a gacha thing could be done, but it'd have to be done carefully.

They could just do the same thing with Love Live gacha with limited arts edition get GSSR status and allow character had certain skills and perks in game play. They only need to not make the game suffer powercreep problem.

I think Hololive rhymes game + gacha is the way to go. They have enough original music for all members for it to work.

In all seriousness, if you don't know the basics of the language (especially one as different from English as Japanese is), you most likely won't get far with watching only anime. You need to know some grammar and other basics (and Tenma for sure had some English in school - English learning in Japan sucks hard, as barely any JP native vtuber can communicate fluently, with some notable exceptions, but at least will show you the basics) to get the ball rolling. After figuring out the general ideas you can (and should) read, listen and possibly speak Japanese as much as you can to have some results, unless you are some kind of language learning prodigy (or a small child).
