I think Tako more or less nailed why she has detractors.
Although I think the being the center of attention thing in the early collabs is a queer point.
I think the real issue was just that most of the girls from myth at the time were just awkward when they were all put together and we saw that with the Mori and Coco review.
Props to @Scuttle for pointing that out early on and when you're an extrovert and a group of awkward White (and Korean) introverts that's going to cause a lot of dissonance.
She's very much the Gonzo of the group if we're doing Muppet comparisons.

I dont think this is bait so I'll answer.
It's simple really.
Woe is me woe is me gets annoying real quick, especially when you have all the tools to fix your problems.
In the end I don't hate her or wish anything bad upon her I just find her annoying especially the voice. Honestly I dislike Gura more than Kiara just Kiara makes it easy.

Not everyone is to everyone's taste and unfortunately it just happens that Kiara has more filters than her peers, which means she isn't as broadly accessible as Gura.

There's nothing to 'redeem', though. She does her thing and she has her audience. Everyone has varying amounts of detractors and they aren't always willing or wanting to change what causes it. The people who call Kiara 'whiny' are offset by the larger number of people who find her 'honest'. The people who find Ame a difficult watch when she's playing games she clearly isn't enjoying is offset by the people who enjoy their 'toxic gamer gremlin xd'.

From the outside looking in, which is a perspective I feel I can offer as I haven't watched Myth in a while, Kiara is only ever brought up here when she's numberfagging, complaining about 'only' having 1.3m subscribers, offering what could be interpreted as passive-aggressive comments to her colleagues. So to me whose favourite V-Tubers are part of NijiEN, who celebrate every 10 and 50K milestones because that's a much bigger deal to people who grow slower, I find Kiara to be very sheltered, self-absorbed, ungrateful, and I'd be uncomfortable watching her if I felt she could sperg at any moment about how 'woe is me' her current problem is. Granted, Pomu has done this once or twice too, so maybe there's a correlation between idolfags and unreasonable expectations.

Even if she scrubbed away that part of herself I'd still struggle with the voice and humour. But that's fine. If every V-Tuber were to my tastes that'd be a sign there isn't much variety occurring.

I don't like most of games she plays, so I don't watch her too often, but I really like her zatsudans, especially those "let me tell you about my trip" streams, and her cooking streams always have a very high priority to me. I also don't think people here on KF genuinely hate Kiara, despite doomposting about her every other week. Even if someone doesn't like her personality nor her content, it's still a long way from an actual hate we harbor towards people like Artia.

That being said, I'd like her to sing in her normal voice instead of her Kiara voice. Other girls get away with it, why wouldn't she?

She really doesn’t do it nearly as often as some of her detractors says she does. It’s just gets a lot of focus when she does for whatever reason. That or it’s being taken out of context and rarely does anyone actually go check the VOD to confirm either way.

I'm not fond of her but I'm not particularly fond of HoloEN in general (I find them kinda boring). Even when I was more into Myth I never watched much Kiara - I mostly stuck with Ame and Calli - because Kiara's sense of humor and all the Takamori stuff just did not work for me at all.

She doesn't have to redeem herself. I am not a fan but apparently 1.3m people are. She's doing fine.
