General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Kawasaki Sui is a babiniku with a voice changer who hides the fact and pretends he is a female Vtuber.

Found this out after a talk collab with my oshi Kayamori Emma (formerly Yaezawa Natori of .LIVE/Idolbu) which got privated now. I missed the original stream and when I tried to look at the VOD in Sui's channel it was privated. Someone in the /jp/ Virtual Youtuber thread mentioned the fact with two audio links but they were already deleted. I did some searching and some japanese websites (Idolbu Anti thread, indie anti, and some Re:ACT threads in 5ch which are unfortunately in Japanese) and they came to the same conclusion as well and they are unhappy because he used the collaboration to ask Emma sexually charged questions (whether she has a sex friend, whether she has done one night stands, etc).

They eventually confirmed it during a Phasmophobia collab where one of the participants is .LIVE's Rurun Rururica and the voice changer glitched. The Phasmophobia VOD was privated after this but someone saved a screencap where this happened.
(I don't know if archive.ph can preserve Twitter videos, if it can't would someone please help guide me on how?)

There was a collaboration scheduled with Rururica but this was cancelled due to "technical issues" but was not rescheduled. This is only speculation but it is most likely .LIVE stepping in and put a stop to it due to the voice changer glitch (which is probably one advantage in being corpo so they can handle this kind of situation).

I don't watch the collaboration with Figaro as I was watching another stream but I hope what Emma experienced did not happen to Figaro (who is also a good singer). Figaro also rarely does collaboration so I don't want a bad experience turn her off to further possibilties.

Anyway for a less negative post, if you want to see how the (former) Idolbu member looks like, I present this site. Looks like .LIVE strengthened their opsec since I couldn't find info for their 2021 debutants Rikumu (nice deep voice), Rurun Rururica, and Nanahoshi Milily. Understandable since the Yozakura Tama incident led to death threats.
Looks like I finally got got. Feels bad man. Still a cool 24/7 stream idea though.

Edit: Is this how @Swingletonthesimpleton feels?

Jesus fucking Christ, if this site is understating the SC spending then God help this Calli Super Simp.

I thought I was exaggerating about this guy in earlier posts but I don't think I am anymore lmao.

he could be the schitzo who actually fly to Hawaii after DDK announcement just to do the same shit that one kiara fans wait after the con

also Amelia Simp (idk his channel yet) probably spend close or the same fair amount of money like that dude, because everytime ame thanking superchat, i knew i heard his name randomly

Does vshojo count as a large corpo now because of 11+ million venture capital?
Holy shit, I missed that story. Looks like it was only briefly discussed here back on the 16th, the same day as the earthquake in Japan and the non-smol HoloEN 3D performance, so I guess that story got buried. (I had the post open in a tab somewhere but lost it and don't want to find it again.)

So why does Vshojo need VC? Are they somehow not profitable despite having major stars under their brand and taking a decent slice out of all of their donos? I know they're not exactly brain surgeons over there but if they are somehow losing money in this arrangement, they truly are hopeless. Furthermore, what are they going to do with $11 million? What expenses do they have?

The whole thing seems kinda… money-laundering-y. I donno.

Yeah that's another one I'm looking into. There's another Calli pay piggy, Zekenator_77 whose dropped 12,300ish dollars so far. I wonder if these people know that they're paying these girls a fraction of what they're donating. If they want to spend on them, that's their business, but they're spending a shit ton of money to get a drunk wigger to say their name in a kind tone; and in Ame's case doesn't even seem remotely interested.

I don't know what goes through the heads of the people super chatting thousands of dollars. But as for small superchats, well I've super chatted Gura and Ina before, not because I have some delusional idea that they have some special connection to me and that I out the literal millions of subs especially matter to them. But I enjoy their content and want to support them, because if they didn't make any money then they wouldn't be making their content and I feel the need to do my share.

Granted I probably would drop a few thousand here or there if I was super rich and the thousands literally didn't matter to my finances, because if I have that much then why not give it away to content creators I enjoy.

If anyone's interested, here's backup of the twitter spaces broadcast Pomu and Finana did after the previous, infested by a penishaver collab. Just in case it's not released before the recording vanishes: https://anonfiles.com/1c14Y4R4xc/pomu_finana_packing_broadcast_m4a
Removing comments is gay but on the other hand I'm Pomu. Then again, I tuned out eventually because that dude was boring and ruined the atmosphere so I fully understand people being annoyed. At least comments are unlocked now - they probably panicked and locked everything down before sleep or something - but they're full of apologists and obvious fujos now.

Didn't get to watch it because I was busy but apparently Nina got really emotional during her comeback stream last night talking about her memories with the boys during their off-collab. It's nice hearing a more personal take on someone's experiences when meeting their vtuber colleagues irl.

Found this clip in particular from it of Nina talking about some personal struggles with talking online vs talking irl, and then saying how the experience helped her realize she got what she wanted from joining Nijisanji. I remember people talking a while back in this thread wondering why Nina's PL would take a hard shift from what she did before to what she does now in NijiEN. Not the main purpose of the clip but midway she hints towards it and it might provide some insight to those who are open to taking her word for it.

Hearing her say she's truly content with where she's at and that all she's want out of her career was to be able to find genuine friends is really nice. I'm glad she's able to find a place she feels more comfortable at.

I learned today that one of the few official covers Korone has done is POPPY PAPPY DAY with Miko, which is the closing theme of Pop Team Epic:

Pop Team Epic is a brilliant 4koma (4 panel) comedy manga and later a tv show that had an interesting twist where the show was repeated twice once with female voice actors and again with male voice actors like giga chad Norio Wakamoto (voice of Vega/M. Bison, Cell, Chiyo’s father, and everything else).
This includes music in the show such as the closing theme by Kenny Akabane and Shunsuke Takeuchi:

These two together also sang my favorite moment of the show and a good example of what to expect from Pop Team Epic absurdity:

The only other Pop Team Epic x Hololive stuff I found was the mangaka bkub drew a couple membership stamps for Kanata who is a fan of the show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiGocV8P1AU&feature=youtu.be&t=1046

Joining a circle of woketard doesn't give you money/opportunity, and actual friendship and happiness. News at 11

It seems pretty common, Hololive and Nijisanji have both had investment rounds in the past (eg. https://archive.ph/KJLKs). Looking at the direction of vtubing they will probably be using that money to develop new VR software/hardware, for funding events, etc. This article (https://archive.ph/oePlR) also mentions Gunrun's 'IRL Backpack' as something they want to develop further.

Also according to this clip, VShojo doesn't take a cut from donations - presumably they make their money from merch/events/sponsorships/etc. Maybe rainbow worthy (plus it's from 2020) so take it with a pinch of salt.

Just was suggested this video. It's a year old but it has Ayame, Shion and Aqua playing Apex together.

Not sure how I missed this stream, probably due to being on Ayame's channel. Her intro video is cute as hell tho.
