Well year of the snek gets the snek girl. Sara seems to have gotten her dream job in real life, and is going to take a 3 month break on planned streams to focus on the new job and she also said she's had burn out. She says she will be back and doing some things on the side and collab when she wants to, hopefully it's a Naki situation where she takes a break then comes back and feels better. She admits she was barely getting by the past year financially and that this will allow her the ability to treat streaming like a hobby ie more appreciation and fun with it.

This freakin' Italian woman... :lossmanjack:

I don't understand why vtubers post irl photos. Especially the ones who feature their literal face.

Doesn't this defeat the purpose of vting? Of spending all that money, energy, and resources on getting a model? The torture of getting artists to do their damn job?

Whats the point? Ego boosting? Engagement baiting? I can understand cosplay but half the time they aren't even cosplaying. Half the time it's not even au natural, they utilize fake boobs implants or otherwise, camera angles to make themselves seem thicker than they actually are, and lastly those horrid filters?

I have a question for God: "Why?"

You're asking why women and gay men do things that get them attention?

This line of thought requires there to only be one reason for vtubing (anonymity) Which just isn't the case.

It's a reason for some but not for all. Some also just do it because while they aren't averse to their face being known, it lets them side step having to get "done up" for every stream, or others just do it because they like the aesthetic.

None of this is particularly new to vtubers. Male or Female, Western or Japanese.

As for this that's just...... Selfies in general on the internet.

Both parts of your post I get not liking it and yeah it's cringe. But the confusion about where it's coming from just makes me think you've lived under a rock for the last 20 years.

Obviously any vtuber that is fat and/or ugly would not do this. The ones who do generally do it so they can essentially double dip on simp bucks… gooners who goon to 2d and gooners who like knowing the woman behind the 2d model isn’t ugly and therefore is a real human being worthy of money.

I know why they do it I was just wondering if anybody had any other ideas they would like to posit, upload to the collective consciousness.

Also its true I have been living under not a rock but concrete for the past 20s years.

Just some minor league news. Back in October, minor Japanese studio Univirtual announced the January graduations of three members, Ohga Ruki, Momotsuki Hagu, who were founding members, and Kohaku Nuino. They had a live concert in Tokyo on 12/28, which doubled as their graduation concert.

I've shilled for Ohga Ruki numerous times in this thread. She sings with a beautiful, operatic voice and frequently does kino flute karaoke.

It appears she's going to continue on as an indie using the same model. I think. I can't read moon runes, and the Japanese love making important announcements in untranslatable JPG format. At least she's still streaming today, and she's slated to attend a Japanese beer expo in April. Hagu and Nuino were enjoyable in collabs, but I never really watched them solo, so I'm not sure what they're doing now.

Enjoy your oshis while you can. Nothing lasts forever.

everybody hates on lewd twitch vtubers, meanwhile seiso cover idols:
For me it's genuinely the Flirting vs Harassment meme.
There's nothing wrong with flirting with sexuality and being playful but talking about cock and "getting piped in Canada" like Veibae did is offputting.
Guys like a tease, they don't like a hoe.
