General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Another change of subject: Kinda weird that they don't let the illustrators know about the upcoming graduation beforehand. I would think that any vtuber mama of a corpo vtuber would include the earnings from merch art in their yearly planning.
Business thinking, wise, it’s probably meant as a way to make sure it doesn’t leak too far ahead of time. Let the minimum number of people know until it’s public.

HoloRust is fun, but it was more fun when they could freely PvP like last time.
Some of the new girls make up for it tho, Vivi is a lot of fun.
So crazy about Aki, never used to see her and now i see her everywhere.
I don't think I've seen any subbed clips of FLOW GLOW girls. Are they just not popular with english speakers?

The Invaders concept was originally talents from other corpos left the old one and came to Phase with their models/identity like Lumi and Yuri. That went out the window with the second gen, where they got new names and models that are loosely based off the originals. I think the invaders concept should have been trashed. I'm all for new talents and however they come, but if they aren't bringing over their known identity, it's not any different than just a new gen. How are Dizzy and Ember different than Muyu and Saya?

I hope the concept goes back to its original idea and the new group is bringing over their previous identities.
Fishman has explained the difference between the Invaders and the standard gens before, I think most recently in an OOC convo on Dizzy's channel. It boils down to this:
  • Standard gens are developed and auditioned to be a group comprised of Phase designed characters, on-boarded and marketed as a unit.
  • Invaders is a mechanism to on-board specific, (and to date, already established) talents who the company wants to hire. These performers could be playing established characters (Lumi and Yuri) or new performer designed IPs for Phase (Dizzy and Jelly). Ownership terms of the character IP appears to be negotiated on an individual basis during recruitment/on-boarding.
    • They did nominally hold "auditions" for this new invader gen, but we don't know what that was comprised of. they may have had a pool they were thinning down, or needed a 3rd and didn't have a name in mind yet.
So a "standard' gen member (like Muyu or Saya) would be someone who applies to work at a company, while an "Invader" (Dizzy/Ember/Jelly) would be an established subject matter expert who was specifically recruited by the company.

Invaders are generally nepo hires. Cyberlive was going down in flames when lumi and pippa collabed.

I would be more impressed to find out that any of the artists do "yearly planning" on their finances.

It's a field where the norm is just working project to project with no guarantees. so this is just another day for them.

Riona's interactions with Calli regularly get clipped because Calli makes her act like a sweaty otaku (Mori is her oshi and the reason she found and joined Holo)

The only thing I know about Inis is she thought it would be a good idea to have a boy smell contest.

Her former (?) agency "socks" vetoed that idea.
I think that all this talk regarding Shondo & phonebooking was completly meaningless. Not only are you guys talking past each, you aren't even talking coherently or in good faith
At the end of the day, your opinion - your judgment - on this case is not rational. It's aesthetic. It's a matter of personal taste. My personal judgement on this is similar to that of @SteelPlatedHeart and @gaysexenjoyer. I regard this as tasteless even tho I dislike Shondo and her content.

I like most of this website but the Shondo thread kind of showcases the worst tendencies of some of its users.
People basically bullying a schizophrenic girl who lost her mother less than a month ago.
I think doxxing should be reserved for the likes of Nick Bate or Keffals.
I agree completely! Doxxing people I like is bad, doxxing people I dislike is good! Unironically! Principals are meaningless, Tribalism FTW!

Shondo is a gross loli baiting weirdo who talks like a child and deserves her thread. Her mother killing herself is bad and all, but that doesn't mean people can't talk about her. Reserving phone booking for people you don't like is faggot behavior. That implies your desire for the info to be out there is retaliatory and a punishment.
You don't actually believe this - or you are a faggot. Maybe a bit of both.
Why did you have start your post by calling out Shondo?
You dislike Shondo, you believe she deserved what she got. The language you use implies that the phone booking of Shondo was a punishment. She deserved it for being a gross loli baiting weirdo after all.
I understand - I even agree that she is a gross weirdo. But don't pretend like getting "phone booked" is something insignificant. As if you wouldn't care if someone you like was phone booked! If someone were to phonebook you and link your real identity to your kf account, would that be of no concern to you? When someone does it to someone you dislike its deserved, but if someone does it to someone they dislike its faggotry ??
No, it implies it’s reserved for people who deserve it. Shondo doesn’t deserve it.
Well according to @Nogg she deserved it. So it's perfectly justified is it not? Who made you the moral authority on this?
Again it boils down to "people I dislike=deserved".
Doing controversial things on the internet such as acting out rather fucked up fetishes may draw unwanted attention, but phonebooking, gossip and impotent rageposting do not bullying make.
Something that doesn't go away by just going outside and touching grass.[...]
Guys can we be honest.
Phonebooking may not be bullying per se, but it enables it and any attempt to cancelling someone. It enables real bullying and irl consequences, and life ruination.
At the very least its intimidation.
It's also not something you can just run away from by just turning off you PC. Most people can't just change their address.
Again some people may deserve it, and it may be justified against some, but lets not pretend it's a nothing burger.
She’s not my oshi, but that’s not the point; the point is there are a lot of people who deserve it and you’re picking on one of the ones who doesn’t.
Pippa is my oshi, but I don’t even mind the Pippa thread because it’s basically just a faildox and a hundred pages of seething and dilating over a pink anime rabbit who makes good money.
I am astounded that you can read the Pippa thread and missread the room to such an extend. The Pippa thread has its problems, from discarding useful info from fans to moralfagging and timelooping.
However when I read the pippa thread what I saw was not seething and dilating but people laughing at something. And that something was the reaction (overreaction) of pippas fans both here and from the TVA.
Yes for some it is a moral crusade against a loli vtuber. In general most people on KF hate anyone that likes loli/shota - this includes vtubers. They also hate their fans, especially when they are on the forum defending it. So when they "faildoxxed" pippa it was not just to spite her and laugh at her, it was also to spite her fans who defended her in other threads. Meaning it was meant to spite the people of this thread. And like retards people from here and TVA went into that thread and started stepping on rakes.

Would a vtuber mama ever risk that and become a persona non grata in the scene? Artists are under NDA all the time.
I would be more impressed to find out that any of the artists do "yearly planning" on their finances.

I was never self employed in my life but I'm sure that any contractor in my daily job does that. But yeah, an self-taught artist probably doesn't have a business background like a consultant or an auditor.
