General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I bet a percentage of the vtubers claiming to be lesbians or bi actually are. Maybe a quarter to a third.

I suspect the majority just say that to keep their retard unicorn fans from chimping out over the thought of BIG MALE DONGS being within 50 meters of the anime waifu they're parasocially obsessed with.
Which sucks cause I'd rather have women who have families and kids before their eggs dry up. Idc if my oshi has a boyfriend/husband.

You'd think these companies that wanted to get more into the vtubing market would actually make digital clientwares and get a bunch of SEA monkies to do it for peanuts and bananas.
If Cover had made a Hearthstone/Shadowverse clone instead of throwing all their money into the HoloEarth hole, they could afford to make trash like HoloEarth, wouldn't have had to go public, and wouldn't have to subject the girls to embarrassing, long-term brand-destroying shit like ads for vapes and food subscription services.

Hololive is like a card game. Structuring one based on it is very little work. Eventually they sort of did it. The Holo TCG is their most profitable thing now, and it's half-assed and half a decade late. They could easily have owned the digital cardboard market. No idea why they didn't do it.

My prejudice is to assume they're just shockingly incompetent, top to bottom, every single employee. The girls' job is to constantly save the company and get no credit for it.

They've rebooted the Vanguard game about 2 or 3 times now because they've botched the entire thing.
That's a dang shame.
I mostly played it in it's first run I guess?

The few times I replay it it's just with people at conventions every year or so and they just let me use my legacy idol deck.

Anything that isn't MTG, Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh doesn't tend to work out it seems in the West.

Honestly I feel like the issue with this is Nip brains not being very online and still being connected to the real world.
Markets like The Americas, not just Northern, but Southern America due to how everyone is drawn out would and do flock to digital card games and I agree with you about dominating the market if they wanted to.

But that Black Rock crack is just too good I guess.

They're a mediocre tech company that accidentally stumbled into huge success in an entirely different industry and somehow didn't fumble it, that's a lot better than most "competent" companies do.

Is there a lack of interest from Spanish or Portuguese speakers in vtubing world? For all the Filipinos and Malaysians able to stream as a job due to relatively low cost of living you’d think a serious business play would be getting Peruvians or Brazilians who speak English on the side to stream in US hours

I mean, how can one tell for that? HoloEarth began development in 2020 and Hololive went public in 2023. I highly doubt that Hololive lost a ton of money with HoloEarth production that they had to go public because of it much less the apparently long-term brand destroying ads for vapes and food subscriptions. I mean, Raden has promoted some vape pen shit a while ago and it hasn't really affected her given she has had more sponsors relating to museums which arguably are far more on brand with her.

I would see your point if Hololive were tanking numbers because of these things, or having reputational problems as well. But I haven't seen any cases of this, much less the notion that Hololive would have not suddenly gone public at some point.

Vtuber corporations are not cheap ventures at all, we have seen the price of advertising after all. We have also seen the likely costs of various things ranging from rigging, art, and other work here. 2020 Hololive was debuting Myth and JP Gen 5. 2023 Hololive meanwhile debuted Advent and RE_GLOSS which brought Hololive's member count to roughly over 80 talents who each would cost a ton on their owns, ontop of paying the workers & people they worked with.

I could not see Cover corporation realistically being able to stay in the green if they did not open to the market.

and her new song with an expensive looking MV
I watched it, I'll be honest. I was confused by the song more than anything. Not her best sadly.
, but Japanishit. Customer support is so bad I've seen customers contacting support and then contacting each other, lol.
The customers are contacting each other over issues? Bodes well for the game.
So the gist of it is all these games are scams to take advantage of vtuber fans.

It just seems like retards trying to get in on something. Either trying to milk tube fans dry or they are also retarded and don't know how to do things.

I think Japanishit did want to make a cool game and did have good intentions but they fail as a company in general, look forward to this company folding in the next few years once they fuck over the wrong customers or the wrong amount of customers. One of my clients affiliated for them and their tool kit was absolute shit, I've seen first time indie games with a better tool kit with like one guy behind it.
VCard is a scam, mechanically it makes 0 sense because some cards are just better than others. The worst aspects of Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh smashed together.
Weiss is legit since it's a legit card game to begin with and has very honest and fair pull rates.
Holo might be legit as a fun card game but might BTFO speculators which is honestly kind of based since they're a plight on the hobby and have utterly ruined it for the most part.

I have a cousin who does stuff for Cable TV.
The cases of talent fucking talent on shoots is through the fucking roof. And its not just talent, its anyone related to the set who is trust worthy enough to not blab. She did locations scouts for a nationwide restaurant show and realized after the fact that part of her scout for one episode was finding a place for one of the executive producers to discretely fuck the new head of catering.
A lot of B-list talent, if they have an SO their SO generally accepts that if they're away for longer than a week they're hooking up on set or the relationship doesn't last very long.
To quote her from one of the cucks "Who cares if they're banging? Its just physical and it'll be over by next year".

So I generally believe the "if they are hanging out, somethings up" - if they aren't banging, the hangouts are being used to cover up some banging.
I mean it checks out, but at the same time my issue with it is the sheer amount of antagonizing the japanese are capable of when their Oh so Kawaii seiso desu ne ~ turns out she has a husband and kids. and you see this antagonizing in weeaboos, too.
