I've had this in the background for a bit now. I don't think I've seen much of her gaming before. Does she usually get this angry at the game? I can't tell if she's playing it up, but it sounds like she's about to Wings her controller.
I would not be surprised, she has admitted on other stream chats that she feel a little jealous of her other gen game skills, but instead of picking something more basic she went balls to the wall with the hardest on them, at least i would not recommend Blasphemous to a beginner like her, the most amusing part is that she is doing a first run in Stir of dawn so is little easier than before (some pixel perfect jumps were removed)

What's ARK appeal again?
It's a shitty survival game with shitty crafting mechanics that runs like absolute shit.

I honestly cannot fathom why coco and co like it so much.

For a while after it came out I lost about 75% of my GTA Online crew because everyone wanted to play Minecraft w/ Dinosaurs, which is more or less what it is. You mine shit to craft so that you can get better shit to craft more and sometimes you fuck with other players.

That being said I get more enjoyment out of watching Miko play it than I'd ever get from the game itself so it has in some way provided me with entertainment even if it's secondhand.

She's admitted that she didn't really play many games before joining Hololive. Normally it's not as bad because she either plays more casual stuff like Crash Bandicoot or stuff that chat can coach her through (Minecraft and the like). I dunno who suggested Blasphemous, but it was obviously the wrong choice. I think she was trying to pick up something that was close to an IGAvania (since she likes SotN) but accidentally got something with a difficulty level out of the 16-bit era.

Interesting. She always struck me as a gamer but not necessarily a skilled one. I had the impression that it has always been something she's done for fun but not really competitively or hyper seriously. I mean, she was definitely Aya in AyaMina Games. I haven't seen much of her gaming as Miyasuke, though. Maybe now that she's in Hololive with people who are really good at certain games, like Fubuki, Botan, etc., she feels like she's amateur-hour and wants to boost her skills and take on bigger challenges.

Wait, not Artia? Cos you know, you'd think maybe she doesn't want to be associated with her past identity anymore or something?
That would be my assumption. Especially since she mentioned "due to contract."

They are talking about Calli.

Korone also is in that bunch, it took her like 2 sessions i think to beat the game and she still did not get the "good" ending, well to be honest the game doesn't tell you AT ALL how to do it, believe it or not i discovered it because i was calibrating my controller and destroyed a statue that removed the penalties from dying by accident and used the pearl while i was passing a hard as shit part to get a rosary bead did not even noticed that the pearl changed color until i beat Crisanta of the wrapped agony i thought i was unlocking a power up so i destroyed the other statues but did not get anything then i supposed it was a achievement for the not!pirated version

Edit: before i give my opinion i will watch her stream, could not see it because it was a 3 am here but in the first minute she mention that Korone contacted her and told her "do your best", so she was already debriefed in what is coming to her (for context you CANT access the Stir of dawn content until you finish the game once)

I think Lyger has more chances of getting a thread considering his unhealthy obsession with Matsuri, he is a western gachikoi, the worst kind
I honestly thought the guy was from Thailand since I know plenty of the big translators are from there like birdkun. Then again, I've heard birdkun speak and he's admitted to where he was from. Lyger really hasn't and I don't really trust his twitter bio to be 100% truthful.

It's more along the lines that all the games she is good at and wants to play are currently barred becuase of Cover's permissions issue. Chances are if the whole Ghost Trick shit didn't happen she'd be playing SotN and Bloodborne. She still isn't the best at those games but much better than what is on display when she plays anything new. Someone chalked it up to her music career taking precedent so she just never actually took the time to sit down and play games. Even when she would stream gameplay as Dice it wasn't all that good, so I'm told.

People recommend her stuff like this because she enjoys the horror aesthetic, even if she is bad at the game. That's usually the way with her, anyway.
I don't care if you fancy yourself an ebin discord spy, is it really that hard to add some context to posts like this, instead of pretending everybody is a fellow chan lurker in the know?

I would say you'd need to lurk more, broheim. Not sure how many pages back it's been when the CN closure was the order of the day, it became crystal clear what Artia's alters were. Garlic is one, and Hecatia I think is the other that she goes under. As to answer "what contract," it's probably Cover's stuff that she can't talk about their intellectual property under her new name and she at least respects them that much to honor it.

Youtube recommendations showed me a rock/metal vtuber.. can't lie I'm intrigued. Hololive has too many jpop singers, I'm kinda bored of all the Renai Circulation and other anime song covers. Calli's rapping is nice I guess but really not my type of music. The band in the background is pretty neat.
Blame copyright for that. If a performer wants their stream to be archived they have to go by an approved list so you'll see a lot of the same songs done by different performers.

If they go unarchived then everything's fair game. Coco's streams run the gamut and even though she sings the same songs time and again, it's stuff she likes. Calli spent like 45 minutes singing MCR.

If I were to audition and become a holostar, I'd probably go with some oddball shit in unarchived karaoke just because. Shitsinging like Everybody's Circulation and Trololo, boomer songs like Fat Lip or anything by Blink 182 and Offspring, and actually train myself to perform the song that plays when Caesar dies in Jojo.

Her Discord link is somewhere out there. Lurk for a couple of days minimum and you'll figure out what her handle is. Her Chinese alters have been dropped either here or in documents linked here. The info is out there.

Or, you know, you could ASK NICELY who they are talking about.

They are talking about Calli.
Ah, gotcha. The post with the link mentioned Korone, so the convo was a bit confusing. Makes sense now. Thanks.

boomer songs like Fat Lip
Ouch. You make it sound like it was the Rolling Stones or the Eagles and not Sum 41 that wrote it.

Unless you're talking about the 1980s Robert Plant song from his post-Zeppelin solo career. If so, then yeah, boomer song.

I wonder if Calli is going to sing any Fake Type ever. Or has she already? I haven't watched all of her karaoke streams, so I might have missed it. If she hasn't, I wonder if she is even allowed to, or if she doesn't want to simply because of how close Fake Type are to Dice. During the Trash Taste podcast, the topic of her influences came up and I really felt like she wanted to blurt out Fake Type but was holding back for some reason.

Regardless of the reasons, I would like to hear her karaoke Tsuki, just for the fun of it.
