I honestly had never even heard of senzawa until the belle delphine song and even that amounted to "am I supposed to know who that is?". Seeing her stuff after knowing her as Gura I don't think any of it is funny at all.

on the bright side for me at least that image of the farms is exactly what led me here like a month ago thinking. "well if anyone's outted their identities surely it's the place known for doxxing" and I was just super curious.

then I lurked the thread for weeks before finally joining because the discussion here is generally just less autistic than any of the other big discussion hubs and no one here gives a fuck about "maintaining the illusion"

Same. I think i started lurking around here during the Pokimane shit. Schadenfreude has always been my guilty pleasure but i was always intimidated to come here. At first i didn't wanna say anything, but this place is relatively chill compared to the rest of the farms

I haven't really seen vshoujo on youtube but I follow some "out of context vtuber" twitters that post them a lot and it's always something along the lines of "nyanners: it's white christmas cause santa saves his jizz all year and cums on the christmas tree"
I'm not sure which account you are referring to but I know there's a gimmick account named "VTuber Struggle Media" full of "struggle" posts from some EN indies and occasionally corporate VTubers. The admin is someone related to Domo, so that's something.
I have been seeing zero clips on YouTube regarding VShojo members lately despite making no effort to curate my recommendations. I used to have Nyanners and Artemis clips recommended to me all the time but since the launch of VShojo, they've disappeared completely from my feed.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I think that clippers tagging them under #VShojo has negatively effected their exposure by making the algorithm realize that holo and niji watchers actually don't give a shit about EN chuubas at all. Before, it would be difficult to filter all of them, but now that they're all under one tag, YouTube's malevolent AI realizes that if a user ignores one #VShojo clip, it's likely they'll ignore other ones.
Several days ago there's some clips from Froot in my recommendation but obviously I didn't click it. Today, there's no EN indies in my YouTube recommendation, which is great.

Politics make people miserable.
Vtubers are (for the most part) removed from them, thats why people are relatively chill on this thread.

The out of contexr Vtubers is also connected to Domo, if I'm not mistaken, especially after the account changed hand

Also, anyone know who the fuck this guy actually is?
I used to get recommended his videos after Coco's West Taiwan incident, before I realized his entire gig is basically making clickbait videos about Holo girls ala Narukami or sjw/anti-sjw news reaction videos. He seems real sus to me, especially with his troon avatar, possibly a grifter trying to cash in on the Vtubers boom like Domo did

I've only been on this site since like May and even I know that most people on here would never have noticed this person if they hadn't specifically mentioned KF so it would turn up in a search lmao no one here gives a shit do they?
People only give a shit if you're really, truly, melting down constantly over stupid shit or in the halls of the rat king, from what I've seen. People are just trying to get noticed by having KF give free advertisement for them. Personally, I only care about watching (amusing) small indies who are more like a small close-knit community where people shoot the crap or play games together, or the really high value production ones where you're just watching an entertainer. Never fell for the simp meme.

The account's current owner is Kabukiibuki. Are they connected to him?

Also, lately i've been thinking...what's even the point of making "Vtuber news" videos unless they're translated clips or something like Asacoco news? If you wanna catch up, it's best if you look up shit yourself

I think "the bubble" will burst but we'll see stock market-like behavior where it'll stabilize after the crash and hopefully end up as a pleasant, small community of streamers who sincerely give a shit. Or maybe it'll just be forever tainted by dishonest people willing to suck dick for 5 likes on twitter, but I hope not. The idiots are rushing out their indie debuts to make quick bucks or to get enough experience to "make it into hololive" (won't happen), but the smart ones are the people working on their trade and planning to debut later.
That's kind of why I started doing it but I also am more or less just doing it for the sake of it. If they ever open up EN Stars I'll give it a shot but I will wholly expect to not make it in and instead just keep focusing on what I like doing in the meantime.
But m-muh JP streamer culture! Twitch streamer culture is t-toxic and annoying!

I'm all for doing your own thing irrespective of, or downright in spite of, what works for analytics and capitalizing on viewership, but, from a purely business standpoint, what works for a target demographic, works. Adapt and thrive is the name of the game.
It works to some extent but dipping your toes into that side of content creation is really just miserable. This is why I'm such a big supporter of just having fun with whatever you're doing because the second you start clout chasing you never can really stop. The content creation game is basically a treadmill that just keeps getting faster and faster with no end in sight. My entire vtuber thing started out with me actively shitting on Cyberpunk by playing Deus Ex instead and I've been having a blast doing it.

The one thing that makes no sense to me is seeing a community full of EN Vtubers who are "pre debut" and they don't even have a plan for a model or they have a basic character sheet drawn up. Like...just get someone to make you a basic vroid or make one yourself and start. You don't need a rig and L2D costing hundreds of dollars to get into it, and hyping up your debut when you're just gonna be another bog standard streamer in a sea of other streamers, even if your initial viewership somehow catches on. Honestly I still don't get how Artemis got so popular; I was watching her Fall Guys stream with Hornet earlier and they both seemed very bored to be there (well, Hornet seemed more nervous than bored.) So many of these kids look at hololive and think they need a big debut in order to make a splash in the community when half the time nobody remembers a fucking thing about your debut. They also overlook the fact that hololive is...well, fucking hololive with a ton of money and effort behind every model out there. I put as much work and time into my shit as possible and it's basically jury rigged. They just need to shut up, hook up a camera and facial capture software, and start fucking streaming. That's seriously all there is to it.

I don't find Gura all that entertaining either, at least not a full stream of hers. She does have a lot of really good standout moments but nothing I would consider absolutely hilarious.

I just started watching Ame's stream and... Is she using creative mode on the HoloEN server?

I noticed she seems to hop between her own private, Creative world and the Survival HoloEN server when she streams.

Last time she was doing it, she was testing some kind of musical contraption using redstone wiring and note blocks for making something similar in the server.

Yeah, she ended up making a switch which plays that eight-note celebratory tone from the original Zelda game. She also used offline mode to plan out her XP farm thing. I missed the early parts of this stream but right now she seems to be planning out some sort of carnival funhouse thing with traps and mazes. This kid has become addicted to this game.

Gura is not as funny as a drunk Senzawa for sure, I think with Gura she is on to much of a leash for her standard drunk shitposting humor for some reason, maybe she just doesn't want to give a bad impression of cover I'm not really sure, I do kind of miss her casual swearing, she's way more family friendly now for the most part which kind of takes away the funnier side of her. I still enjoy her streams mostly though.

(I only knew of Senzawa after Gura though so maybe she wasn't always like that even as Senzawa)

I'm really not into Calli and don't watch much of her but most people here seem to dig her, it's whatever. people will like different shit and that's why vtubers are awesome.

Literally "English VTubers Out Of Context" I used to follow "struggle" but more often than not it was "tfw I don't get to drink another vtuber's piss" and I got tired of it.

Leeching, 100. It’s for the casual audience who like but not love Hololive, where they won’t watch a full stream but instead clips of notable moments. Like Gura’s first solo minecraft where she died an infinite number of times was pure suffering; a clip of her emerging from the mines into a pillager raid and swearing for the first time on camera? That shit goes into the news vids.

2+ months of predebut hype by the ENTIRE fucking ratking, nothing else. Interacted with literally every single EN indie. Japs see the cool design and Twitter banter and make fanart, ignoring the terrible streams.

Please, for the love of GOD do not bring HERfaggotry here. Contain it, for fucks sake.
The teehee alcoholic random xddd gremlin thing was a complete act, her streams were a more tryhard, awkward version of Gura. I vastly prefer the current iteration.
