Hmmmm.... I can see this being a major thing. Parents, whether in Japan or elsewhere, can be really powerful when it comes to their kids' decision-making. Now that Pekora has outed herself as a Vtuber, and also hit #4 female streamer (it was #4 right?) worldwide on Youtube, they may start expecting their little girl to pull in some serious cash. Coco's expensive bed may have more to do with her no-nonsense American negotiation tactics (we're often encouraged to bargain for a higher salary after the employer has agreed to hire us) than saving her pennies. But there's no real evidence of that, one-way or the other. If Mom and Dad Peko think their daughter deserves a higher percentage of her superchats and memberships, there could be some serious friction.

Also, on the black company front... yeah, Cover may be all thumbs with some of this stuff, but it doesn't seem to be all that bad. And it also looks like they're willing to learn from their mistakes.

Not everyone in the En Domo cabal is a talentless hack. I've watched some of her stuff, and she doesn't need to constantly hornypost to entertain her audience. She also did a Calliope remix Of R.I.P.
In fact i've rarely seen her hornypost.

There are more talents that have been screwed over by the industry working with Hololive, but the point is if these two are even just able to pretend they're happy at Cover it speaks volumes about Cover being a decent company. In situations where they've fucked up, incompetence or inexperience is the logical explanation and I've never seen a whisper of even circumstantial evidence to back up speculation of Cover being black.

I knew all that shit about Kiara, and that's why I cut her a lot of slack and roll my eyes when people shit-talk her. Girl has legit been through hell. It's no surprise she's a touch menhera, honestly.

I knew a lot of the stuff with Nobu but I didn't know all that, holy fucking shit. I knew upd8 had it out for her at the end but just yowza, how unprofessional can you get? I love Polka though, and I'm very glad she's out of all that and working for a good, albeit at-times dunderheaded, company now. upd8 can rot in their grave.

100% agree on all the shit that goes on with Cover/Hololive chalking up to inexperience in this kind of industry. CoverCorp was a proprietary 3D tech company and had absolutely zero plans to be a fucking talent agency of all things at the beginning, so the transition was bound to be pretty goddamn bumpy, and it has been.

Lastly, for now, I found someone who seems to be a level-headed dude who has the details on Pekora's situation. There's obviously no way to confirm anything from anyone but the things he says checks out and makes sense, and scrolling through all of his stuff and vetting a bit, he's a genuine Holo fan, not a schizo, so this is what I'm going with for now-

But regardless, it's bold of Pekora to want to turn off superchats every so often now. It's kinda like a challenge to management, as her doing that obviously puts a direct dent in their wallets as well. Hopefully her doing that doesn't cause management to retaliate, and escalate things further.

On that subject, I recently found out that wrestling video that goes around with her in the Asuka cosplay, the only reason she agreed to do it was the organizers lied to her and said it would be an all female thing. Then when it was obviously not, they lied and said they would do their best to treat her gently. Then that guy humped her side and rubbed his crotch all over her face.

It makes me wonder how much shit do we NOT know about that she's had to put up with over the years. Clearly, that's not the kind of glamorous jobs you would take if you weren't in some way slightly desperate. Heaven knows she was probably used as the token attractive Gaijin in bullshit like that all the time. As you said Mister O, I'm surprised she's even giving the Japanese entertainment industry a chance still to this day.

So she had some kind of thing planned that she had been working on but got denied, and she essentially felt guilty because it was her way of “paying back” everyone for the SC.

Honestly that seems the most reasonable explanation without vilifying someone. But, like you said, no real confirmation.

Actually, from a business sense, this could be good. I’ve kind of noticed that people super chat more on a stream after one they couldn’t, and sometimes more than they would have. Not saying this is Pekora’s intent like some people on another board might think; but it might make management more acquiescent. Just a thought. But I get where she is coming from; making ‘free’ streams as a way to give back.

Not sure how 'in' domo's cabal she is as she was gaining popularity before he really did much. She probably owes more to her collabs with nyanners than anything domo did.

I mean what would they do to her? Force her to graduate? Ban her from streaming for weeks or months ? Either way they will lose out. If they force her to graduate i can already see alot of vtuber company pursue her.
