It took me longer than I care to admit to piece together what #fintuber implied, thought it was a fish thing until I saw that she is a wolf.

Look, I know the collab's result is mixed at this point. Some like it, some hate it, some...find it indifferent to it.
But can we at least agree that the collab happening, with almost no disruption from the bugmen as a very good thing? Coco finally collabing with EN is a good thing and should be celebrated. Regardless of the result, this is still a victory against the West Taiwan antis
Actually, Coco's stream has been (almost entirely) free from Chinantis for quite a while, like, last couple of weeks. In fact, her chat hasn't been locked for member only by that time.

Whats the Calli Meme Review symbolizes, no matter how it sucks, its the fact that Coco collabs are now pretty much at better state now for potentially wider range of VTubers or streamers.

Also didn't feel like Calli roasted their audience. She's done this to ENVYtubers, remember? She's been like that since forever. That's what r(e)appers do, dog.

maybe the other EN girls would benefit from a more casual stream with Coco to get comfy before they do a meme review.
IIRC, that's the point of a big offline/non-streamed "Among Us" collab between the EN girls and some of the JP talent a few months back. Ina/Ame mistook it for a streamed collab and talked about it onstream, and one of them even had it on their schedule.

In other streams, scared-shitless Subaru screaming and getting chased around by a giant monster baby should be a great palette-cleanser for y'all:

also Marine is doing 10/10 impersonation of Angie from RE: Village

Get that formal "oh no can't offend senpai" mood out of the way
Actually I kind of like that they got that out into the open and stated it outright. A lot of the stream was not fun to watch, sure -- but the highlights (for me) were definitely when Coco was verbally poking and prodding Calli and backing her into a corner.

Unrelated point: Didn't Calli say Coco was the Holomember she looked up to the most? Could add to the nerves for sure, although not at the level of Kiara meeting Pekora or anything.

Yes.

She even say it the night before collab. She say Coco is the one she look up to even before she debut, and she want to be someone like her. It's on the level of real-respect-real and not like meeting your idol of Kiara-Pekora. I think it might contribute somewhat to the nerve, but we do know they talk a lot already behind the scenes. Personally, she's nervous mostly because she's the first and her action and what she say will affect the collab in the future. I think the TL in live chat outright say that Mori said "I have to be careful for future collab." or something in that effect. My personal rrat, the EN manager coaxed the higher up to allow this collab, but as the first, all the management's eyes are on this stream from start to finish. That's why she's so afraid of saying anything at first, only to ease up into it at the end. In that case, the "fuck 'em" isn't address at the bugmen, but at the management..

Hypothetical dialogue
Coco : (muted) "You said a lot of shit at the end like fuck Yagoo and MF. You sure your coward managers will be alright with it?"
Mori : "Nah fuck'em. Fuck'em."

BTW, nobody talking about the news that Gen 4 will have an original song, paid for by Kanata's overslept fine of 1 Million yen?

I think the main takeaway is that maybe the other EN girls would benefit from a more casual stream with Coco to get comfy before they do a meme review. Get that formal "oh no can't offend senpai" mood out of the way and get them more comfy before subjecting them to Reddit's limited meme pool.

I think Ame and Gura would have a great time, but they also tend to be a little shy at first. I do think people are overthinking how this went, Calli originally used to be off because she burned both ends of the candle hard post debut with roommates day job,. In the hot mic she was quick to excuse herself for being a bit off, so she clearly sensed it wasn't her best showing and sounded like she enjoyed her time with Coco regardless.

It is something she needs to work on but I don't think it means she doesn't care or anything.

Just give it time guys, EN is likely nervous cuz getting the chance to do things with Coco was off the cards thanks to the bugmen. I think they just really want it to go well and maybe are worried about doing anything that might make management put their foot down again.
Still haven't watched the collab yet for myself but considering the thread's reaction to it so far, maybe it would've been a better idea for Coco and Calli to have had a personal, one-on-one testbed session over a private Discord call or something, throwing Reddit memes at each other and seeing how they gel commenting on them before announcing some kind of collaboration. Just seeing if the talents really mesh well together and can work with the material in an entertaining fashion.

Kinda pointless to spitball an avenue for improvement after the fact, I know, but still.

I feel like the awkward tone was unfortunately bound to happen due to how Cali usually is.
It's that awkward time that Western culture overlaps with Japanese culture that makes you feel kind of uncomfortable imo.
Even Ame has the Senapai thing when she's collaborating with a Japanese Talent and tones down her usual antics.
I think it's going to take time before things feel natural

This is true 2 years ago but now you can actually get shitload of subs because your in hololive, weve seen it with HoloJP gen 5, holoEN and HoloID2. 100k subs before debut is like normal for them at this point
Shame that the boys don't get the same luck i just want all of them to reach 200k

BTW, nobody talking about the news that Gen 4 will have an original song, paid for by Kanata's overslept fine of 1 Million yen?
Thanks angel a shame your oshi got drilled but there is not bad that doesn't come with some good

Tbh my biggest fear for the meme review was Calli forcing laughs out. Her not doing that makes it an overall good stream tbh.

Coco isn't just an inspiration to HoloEN, but the literal catalyst for their existence. I think the weight of sitting in a call with the person who pushed for you to inevitably get your lucky break in life is going to create a level of nervousness we haven't seen from a guest before, and with that in mind I'm willing to not be harsh on Calli.

I don't think Gura or Ame, two people who invariably go missing during most collabs with their own gen, would be able to casually play that off either.

I like how Coco is older than Cali yet is still less of a boomer than Cali. Her slang is literally from 00s - 10 era it's so cringe if she came back to the states and talked like that with the current rap/hip hop scene she'd be laughed at so quick.
Her lyrics and music don't suffer from it though so props to her on that.
