General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Alright fellas, I think I've downloaded all of Coco's membership streams, but I'll have to cross check tomorrow to see if I missed anything. Right now I've downloaded 8 of 755 videos starting from latest. I still haven't taken a screenshot of all of her membership posts though, but god damn there's some cute shit like this:

Fuck this shit, I'm off to bed. Maybe it's all just a bad, bad dream.
If you run out of storage space man for archiving coco's streams let me know (sadly I don't have membership) . I'll take over for you.

Perks of being in the IT industry, I have access to alot of spare storage and I know 1 hour @ 1080p can take about 3-6GB and it quickly adds up.

It is the least I can do in these sad times.

“Hey, there’s been over 30 pages posted since last time I checked the thread. Did someone graduate?”
It wasn’t just someone...

I think the truth will come out eventually, but it’s going to be months or even years. We probably won’t have anything but rrats until we’ll after her graduation.

I would like to say that as sad and depressing as a graduation can be, at least it's happening with someone who has other public accounts that we can continue to support them on. It's not like we're literally never going to see her again.

But on the flip side, imagine if it were someone like Subaru graduating. We have, at least to my knowledge, not found any of her alternative accounts. If she graduated, it would be likely that we would never see her again.

Point being, enjoy your oshis while you can. And if possible, always try to find their other accounts. Being a doxfag isn't always a bad thing.

I'm not sure if it was public knowledge. Miko, Suisei, Mio, Choco, and obviously Kanata knew, but HoloID seemed unaware and Kiara seemed like she was bamboozled.
If the bullying rumors are true, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a concerted effort to keep details of it from reaching the foreign talents. That sort of behavior might be tacitly accepted within the Japanese entertainment industry, but most foreign talent would probably start making plans for their own graceful exit if they found out about it. Calli might be the only one aware since she's the only one who still lives in Japan and she's somewhat internalized how shitty middle-management can be. EN is a big cash cow right now and having the talents bounce once their initial year is up would be a big blow to Cover (especially since it would kick off a massive shitshow just as EN2 starts to hit its stride).

will some of EN2 candidates pull out after they know Coco graduate?

My reading of their tweets is that Calli knew. I also think Amelia did too. Working from machine translation for a lot of these, so it's hard to get a true read, but some of the Holomem seem actually devastated. You can tell how much of an impact Coco had especially on later generations.

Depends on if the rumors are true or not. All I can say is that if I was part of Hololive and I found out about that kind of abuse, I'd probably make plans to leave as soon as possible. There are contracts in place (which have conceivably already been signed) but it's easy enough to just use the Hololive connection as a way to build clout before bouncing.

I don't honestly think they're really going to be able bury this. If it doesn't go all the way to the top, I expect we'll see a lot of shitcanning of middle-management at Cover just because it's going to cost them too much money to churn talent like this if the bullying rumors are true.

EDIT: I'm also not sure if Rushia, Flare and Noel knew either.
Kiara definitely knew, a lot of the ways she was talking about her planned Coco collab make more sense given this development.
Rushia also had a member post saying that she did know before but the announcement was a second shock, which I'm pretty sure is the case across the board for all of them.

Also I remember Coco saying that she was talking quite a lot with Kiara, Mori and Gura behind the scenes.

Unless, of course, they try their hand at the CN market again to recoup losses.

not much use if they decide not to continue. if coco would've quit streaming for good, knowledge of her other channel would do nothing. and the other way around subaru or suisei could quit tomorrow, start a completely new channel the next day, and people would figure it out sooner or later, even more when the talent itself drops hints left and right to skirt any contractual obligations (and to get some fans to move over)
it's probably the most public-facing job there is, and considering how much of their own personality bleeds into the persona, if they continue there's no way people won't notice at some point.
