She broke the news about getting a new live2d in august, but from a different artist, because nachoneko/amashiro is supposedly ghosting her.

What has Nacho actually done for Gura that makes her the "favourite child"? As far as I know Nacho did Gura's emotes after her first artist was caught tracing or something. And then her new outfit.

Shitty Japanese business practices sucks for Kana though. Nacho should have just told her directly instead of stringing her along for a whole ass year and expecting a foreigner like Kana to "kuuki yomi".

While Kana doesn't give a good enough argument on Gura being the favorite child, look at the level of fanart Nacho draws of her and Gura along with the effort she goes to with Gura as opposed to anyone else she draws for. There's plenty of fuel to argue she's the favorite, but I also think elaborating it wasn't Kana interest, she clearly didn't want to make an enemy there, just try to give context to her fans on something as big as changing artists.

It's not even shitty Japanese business practices, it's just the Japanese can be absolutely shitty people when it comes socializing, ironically in the name of social etiquette. We just don't get to see it, as we're their fans.

I'll be honest I'm taking most of the accusations there with a pretty big grain of salt.

We don't know what their initial deal was, for all we know it was just a one time contract for her initial design with nothing set in stone for continued support, meaning any future requests would be like a new commission.

Meanwhile she's likely in contract with Cover to do Gura's stuff meaning it will always take priority over commission requests.

Not saying that's 100% for sure the case but it's honestly just as plausible. Maybe Nacho is ghosting her, or maybe Kana is acting entitled when her agreement with Nacho never guaranteed any sort of priority in the future.

But when Kana left Tsunderia saying she felt "Estranged" from the group, and now she's saying she feels estranged from her artist. You have to ask "Is everyone being mean and avoiding her because Japanese/business people are mean." or does she keep doing something behind the scenes that's causing people to distance themselves from her" happening once is a sad story, happening twice though starts to raise questions about whether or not she's done something to cause it. And given her poor choice of airing all this dirty laundry in the open like this just makes me feel like it's even more likely she's done something unprofessional behind the scenes that's causing people to back off from her.

As for the Nacho-Kana thing. I agree with Burnt Fish, there's a lot of factors we don't know and probably won't ever. The thing about it is, none of the reasons put forth are mutually exclusive, for all we know Amashiro could be passive aggressive and focused on her meal ticket and Kana's a bitch behind the curtain.

I do think ghosting someone you have no intention of continuing business with is honestly inexcusable even when you argue culture, the fact that it's business means culture should be second to money. Amashiro had a year to make clear any feelings or lack of responsibility she had on the matter and it's amazing she even got a year. This is actually a good news, not just for us who hates the antis, but people who use Youtube in general. It means Susan is serious at improving their streaming feature. With Youtube's global popularity and reach, and Twitch's many blunders recently, I can kind of see Youtube taking the spot of global streaming platform

To be fair, making a living as an artist has been tough for, well, centuries lol! Living with her parents doesn't necessarily mean she's a loser, she might be very well financially independent but still living with family for personal reasons, also the housing market in Canada is beyond inflated!

Canada has/had a huge problem with chinese investors coming in and offloading as much money as possible by buying property in their major cities.

And people, especially the rich ones, want to mover theri money out of the country. That's why you see the chinese buying up sports clubs and entertainment companies. Hell, one of the reason crypto mining is (or soon, was) big in china is because people want to make/turn their money into dollar and moving it out from china

Only reason I'd disagree there is that all that you need to say to prevent those questions is "I'm going with a different artist for personal reasons"

If you're not trying to drag the other person there's no need for "I subscribed to her on twitch and she didn't say my name" and the tangent about the other rigger.

After Amelia and Gura rise in popularity (after Gura hit 1M), I remembered Amashiro and Nabi (before live2D debut) both post on their Twitter about how they are not accept request from individual (understandable since artists are poor af and they probably rather commission with group or company so they can guarantee get pay especially during the covid year).
Then we have Uto who was “indies” yet get to have Nabi model and later discovers how she had been under some shady company umbrella before decide to break off and take her Uto persona with her (this also reinforced Nabi and Amashiro stand on supporting corpo Vtubers more than indies). Now time change and I imagine they also start to support indies as to grow their own brand with Nabiface Vtubers become more akin to Saberface while Amashiro brand is having cute factor (especially the eyes) yet only Gura is the golden child.
Kana might be laidback while streaming but who know how she was behind the scene. Ghosting maybe little unprofessional but it seems either there are some thing on the contract or it just a one time commission only on the artist. We need more info on this.

Pretty much. I know when Gura broke records to debut the weakest costume in HoloEN people were essentially guessing she didn’t ask for much since she doesn’t do much with her model anyway. But now I wonder if Amashiro just isn’t good at the whole being a mama thing.
