r/VirtualYoutubers isn't too bad, many of the posters there aren't the biggest fans of Hololive or at best neutral and are more about the Niji/indies. That's where I go when I want info or honest opinions on what's going on with the various Hololive scandals without the official subreddit hugbox or the rrrrrrrrrrrat nonsense and autistic weirdness of vt and sometimes this thread.

Oof. Well, if it's any consolation things can change fast, even in countries where the government builds the networks instead of leaving it to private ISPs, not that those do much for the consumer either when they're allowed to form regional monopolies. To give you an example my parents, who aren't at all into new tech, went from 3 to 20 Mpbs ADSL then to 600 Mbps fibre and finally now 1 Gbps in the span of 5 years. As for how it works tbh at first it's kinda shit because your computer can't keep up with those download speeds, particularly if you still use mechanical hard drives. And you also have to start spending money into your home network if you want all your gadgets to benefit from the speed increase.

I actually didn't know yanks had access to those speeds even in urban areas, good for your pal. I wonder how much he pays though, in Japan or my country you can get them for about $60/month.

Agree with all of this. Personally the only thing I really said about them was that it sounded like they were whoring out disabilities for marketing. But seeing a little more of them, I'm thinking it's at worst tone-deaf, not an intentionally cynical cash grab. Either way I'm glad they retracted the KF accusation so quickly.

Anyway, some people on the internet really need to learn that harassment coming from an individual is the action of that individual, no matter where they claim they heard about you from. (It's different if it's coordinated groups like bugmen from NGA).
Related, some people on the internet really need to learn that us talking about them here in our communication channel, is substantially different than going to their communication channels and talking shit directly to them. Unrelated note, why are indies and smaller companies able to add one-off props that are anchored to their L2D model and move with it, while Holos always add props directly to the screen and they stay static? You'd think at least Ame would be able to figure it out, unless it's some stupid contract/licensing thing with the riggers, like not being allowed to "modify" the L2D.

I forgot Ina recently added that pen prop that moves with her actual pen tablet strokes. It's not something that's anchored to her L2D but it is pretty cool and innovative.

It's innovative for hololive, but not for her, since she did the same when she streamed as nagu. Really, it's just like as Amelia using the 3D model and "surprising" everyone, but if you think she was already using home-3D before joining it doesn't come as surprising anymore.

IIRC the group not only moved their office location but themselves moved apartments/houses and they found either affordable or foreigner friendly places. Foreigner-friendly places in Japan are incredibly hard to find and that Paul Brother who mocked the whole country didn't help them much either but from what I've *heard* if you're sponsored by a nice company, you've got a much better shot at getting a good apartment so maybe it's more of a coincidence and Cover have sponsored her move.

So people are speculating that Nijisanji EN wave 2 could be revealed this week based on the "Special Nijisanji EN Event" that each member has listed on their schedules. Wave 1 of Nijisanji EN was revealed on a Wednesday, and then debuted on the following Saturday at that exact same time. But this isn't just speculation based on the timing of past events - it's also speculation based on this odd visual seen in Pomu's schedule image:

That strange static in the corner is being interpreted as a reference to the three unknown figures hidden in the background of LazuLight's first promotional artwork:

As a bit of a recap, some have speculated that these are simply alternate outfits for wave 1, but when Nijisanji announced auditions for the next wave of EN, it was discovered that one of the images teasing the designs people would be auditioning for has "3rd wave audition" literally in its file name, making it much more likely that these three unknown designs are actually wave 2. That image can still be viewed here (it's the one labeling the designs as A,B,C,D, just open it in a new tab if you want to see the filename for yourself).

Also, note how the event is being referred to as a Nijisanji EN event. If it was something smaller happening involving all three girls it would likely be referred to as a LazuLight event, as they have done in the past with similar celebrations, like the 100k stream and one month anniversary collabs.

There doesn't seem to be anything as interesting as whatever this weird static thing is going on in either Finana's or Elira's schedule images.

Initially I thought it would be them opening memberships but after realizing they could've just said "Lazulight event" and also the fact Elira is apparently being a lazy NEET about commissioning her emotes and genuinely doesn't know what to do for memberships, it could be wave 2. I'm tempering my expectations and assuming some sort of merch/voice pack or a new single from them.

The answer is relatively simple. Hololive and Nijisanji have their own proprietary Live 2D capture software while companies like Kawaii 5 Productions or Phase Connect are probably using something like (ie: )Facerig or something which probably has features like adding jpegs onto yourself as props.
Why Anycolor or Cover haven't invested into adding that feature to their rigs is either a mystery or just being Japanese Companies.

Which is, unfortunately, very real and not all too uncommon.

Considering that Calliope was the Muse of epic poetry (think stuff like Illiad and Odyssey) and Erato was the Muse of lyric poetry, I guess Calliope was not really the "correct" name for the Reaper Rapper.
