Feel like I should throw my 2 cents in this as quite an avid watcher of TT and their main channels now.

How can you stand them? I watched a few minutes and they all seem like enormous shitheads.

Her voice sounds painful to hear, it's like she almost lost her voice. Probably she forced her vocal cord too much lately, especially since she loves screaming or talking loudly. That or perhaps the changing season took a toll on her health. Summer in Japan is unbearably hot recently

Apparently she has vocal nodules, like callous on your vocal cord. The doctors said that because her nodules are small enough, she didn't need any surgery, just medicine and rest are enough. I'm going to miss her baba voice

how come we still debating this IRyS thing singing no English, when we already done it pages ago. this has the same energy with those indonesian complaining "why HoloID speak english when they represent Indonesia they should speak Indonesia".

is it? I don’t really give a damn if they sing Japanese, Indonesian, or Islamic content. The problem is it gets boring when the entire Hololive sing the same selection of songs with no changes in arrangement.

Coco is an example. If her singing voice is just generic like the rest, I wouldn’t bother tuning in. It was the screeching sounds and her failed attempts at trying to sound good but ended up like Mickey mouse are what entertaining. I even threw SC for the first time when I heard her singing Spanish despite not knowing an ounce of what she was singing. Even the priestess and Marine are more entertaining when they sing than IRyS.

The bottom line is that you start sound like certain orange man who trash talk Korean movie that got award due to its story and content. The reason being “it’s not even English” or “I don’t want to watch movie while reading sub” etc.

At least I watched the doggo playing Dragon Lair for 2 days without any sub.

As stated above, it’s the personality and variation in singing that matter. You guys do not get bored listening to 10 different Vtuber sing angel’s thesis? Did anyone in Hololive besides Gura and Suisei even sings songs outside of their niche?

IRyS is a EN “singer”. She should be able to sing R&B, jazz, blue, rock, or Jrock besides your stereotypical Jpop right? If not, she would just be another AZKi that can speak English.

She can, but copyright is a bitch and hamstrings a lot of things. Marine will sing Jojo openings but unless a karaoke stream contains exclusively pre-approved songs, it doesnt get archived. Nearly all of the girls have done stuff outside the jpop niche but it's not our fault you can't use fucking google to find stuff they've done "outside their niche."

I think someone have posted the summary, but not the video. I'm confused by the way (a minecraft pleb here), what does connecting the servers mean, and what would happen then?

Hope editing still tags you, but basically, it would put them on the same server. My understanding is it would be something like JP's current "Resource Server" that they go to via the portals they have set up, I believe there's a Tori gate and a water tunnel that teleports them there. I imagine once the EN server is added, they can also make portals that go to and from there.

Well maybe but they still allow Garnt to mentor her in Shadowverse and allow Ollie to do one of her weird escapades with all kinds of random streamers. It all depends on context.

Given that they need to preemptively state that they don't like 'Idol Culture' when talking about Hololive, and dunking on relationship paradigms that exist between viewer and streamer, it's probably best for them and future business relations that they don't talk about members - especially Calli - directly, as saying things like 'Well idols are X but Calli isn't like that and we love her' or 'Calli does things differently' may create a sense of Othering that she and the company don't want. And we know for a fact that TT isn't exactly professional when it comes to expressing opinions.

On top of that, these guys are much closer to members of VSHOJO, so I imagine if they're going to talk about V-Tubers at all it wouldn't be Calli anyway.

It really depends on what they plan on doing. I'd like to preface what I'm about to say with the fact that I'm not a know-it-all about Minecraft server maintenance and specifications.

By all accounts the ability to actually fuse two worlds together is doable. Your mileage may vary on how the finished product looks, and it will require certain 'tools' that I'm sure they'll need individual permissions to use because of course they would, but it can be done.

However, can it be done between two servers that are running different patches? Who knows. Mechanics included in the EN version don't exist in the older JP server, so things would be broken to the point that it's a waste of time to attempt. I'm pretty sure there were a few reasons the JP girls initially did not want to update their server version, too.

So the most probable outcome is that, by some means or another, the EN girls will potentially be giving up their newer version of the game to merge.

Spoiler: My own sperg opinions on it

I personally find this decision understandable is albeit very disappointing. The JP Minecraft server is just a heavily bloated theme park of stuff: trapped in time due to lack of updates, with the pool of things to do long since sapped of water.

Ever since the Kensetsu War antics died down, every Minecraft LP just became 'The Pekora Show'. Everyone, save for a small minority, builds what Pekora wants, and I just find it really uninteresting nowadays. I watched Towa slave away on an overly elaborate trap for about 6 months, only for Pekora to not humour the hard work and die to the obvious trap like most people do, before 'recruiting' her to build her Pekoland with her.

The EN girls giving up all the bullshit they could get away with in their own server to be probable tourists in the JP server just feels a bit lame.

That said, I think the opportunity for interaction between members is now a lot better, obviously. Gura and Ame normally get fucked over when it comes to collabs because they don't speak Japanese, but in the MC text chat it's basically a Wild West of broken conversation that could make HoloEN feel less like a generation of two halves.

But as HoloEN continues to grow in members I wonder if having this merger on such an old version of the game will just pop the bubble of intrigue. Their best bet would be to keep the server as a legacy thing but merge the branches together on a brand new server and make a huge event of it all.

She could be on Sydnap show for fun and giggle (the last time Sydnap was having a talk show with a porn star I believe). It will be funny for sure plus. Topic could be anything from everyday life as a foreigner in Japan or how Karen convince authorities to continue her work visa, etc. as being a songwriter and “streamer” definitely not qualify for work visa under Japan law.

Thought id make a diagram as it much easier to see now. TAKE IT WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. This is just the "most likely" outcome i think how they would go about it. But the principle still remains the same

Some key things to note

- There is a "Bedrock Torri Gate" on each side of the server. So at the moment Torri gate on the JP server is where the Miko shrine. The "Resource" server one is on that beach bit where the famous Moona x Peko first interaction happened. Where they will put it on EN side is unknown yet.

- You ask why is this even happening as EN can get on both their EN and JP just fine. But the way this works is so they can bring their inventory's and stuff to ANY of the other servers. For example: Kiara goes to JP server, uses Pekora villager shop to get some high level enchantment books, is able to bring them back and store them in the EN server.

- EN cant get to the "Resource" server AFAIK and I think without going to the JP one first. They might make 2 gates on the EN server so they can choose to go to JP or Resource but that is kind of weird and a lot more awkward to do.

- Reason they have to do Ender dragon is because I believe the way this plugin works is part of how you get teleported to a different world when to visit the "End" and the plugin just points to a different server instead of going to the end. Hence why EN cant do any of this until they defeat the dragon and are technically at the same story point as JP.

- This was also technically impossible when the EN server first came around as that was a "Realms" server and not a "Dedicated" server which you can manage and change yourself. It only because of good ol Ame this is actually possible as she the one AFAIK hosting the dedicated server for EN

Yeah I read through and realised she didn't mean 'merge' in terms of using the tools to actually put the contents of two world maps together, which is what I assumed given that they can access the JP server by similar means as it is, so I didn't think it would be a big deal to announce the Torii Gate connection etc.

When did they update it? I'm pretty sure I recall Haachama talking about not knowing what a lot of stuff they were using was.

IIRC, they updated from 1.15 to 1.16 (the version EN server started with) at December 2020, and updated to 1.17 at June 2021
EN is at 1.17 right now
