Well, at least we don't go "hunting" and sperg out like Zax does, anon :story:

Sorry to interrupt the Pippa thread.

Anybody remember Lyrica? Yeah, me neither. But she's doing a charity stream. She's playing some form of modded Minecraft, and Superchats (which go to the charity after Youtube's cut ofc) are hooked in so that every SC spawns a random mob in game.
She's up to almost $1000 in monopoly money so far, so about $750.

To change topics from the hugbox and numberfag a little. I think ~3 months ago someone had posted about a vtuber who goes by Alicegawa Inori
She'd gained a bunch of reddit whiteknight subscribers over a post that got popular, which of course didn't really translate to viewers. She had a bit of a breakdown on youtube:

Ended up looking into what's going on with her these days. It's an interesting case study for what happens when someone gets boosted without getting the opportunity to build up the dedicated audience gradually. Since then she seems to have gotten to trying to replicate that initial bump in popularity with lots of short clips. Despite her subscriber numbers being pretty good as far as Japanese indies go, her views seem to struggle hard. Given her trouble growing since then, looks like it just shows that sympathy subscribers seriously hurts growth and she's only just barely starting to recover

Makes me wonder how this sort of thing would apply to the phase connect vtubers, since so much of their audience is just from the attention here and on 4chan. Admittedly they're a bit different in that the interest is actually for their regular content rather than the vtuber hugbox circlejerking to feel like they're helping someone.

I heard often about how pity and ghost subs actually hurt the channel, but how does it work? What's the mechanic that make it a bad thing for the channel growth? Does Youtube stop promoting your channel when it passed a certain threshold or something?

Probably because after the bump, the decline as it returns to the usual number made the algorithm think that the channel declines in quality. Also if I remember correctly, the more subscriber watched your videos, the better the algorithm will be

One of the only Pippa streams I dont watch and its a fucking gold mine

TFW no moth pussy.
People say that doujin was cursed but I thought both versions were pretty wholesome when you think about it. Well mostly wholesome

For fuck's sake, just yesterday I wrote that I refrain from posting too much in Pippa's chat so it won't turn into kiwifarms central and of course immediately afterwards we get a Chris Chan explanation stream, a direct farms shout out and a yab on twitch. Shine on you crazy rabbit o7

Also @thhrang thank you for your work, dude. I'd put you in a dictionary under 'parasocial relationship' if I could.

First time seeing this game called Pico Park where you have to work together with up to 8 players. Luna played it but I hope Pekora plays it with her Nousagis too, pure chaos and bullying incoming

Actually impressed you managed to watch a Luna stream long enough to find the game its streaming entertaining enough for others to play.

I like Ayame and I hope she's just doing it for the money. She tends to stream a lot in a short period of time if a game catches her attention, like Rise did. I honestly always felt like she's more focused on the Idol part, dancing on stage and performing live for an audience. With the virus going around Hololive can't really perform as they did prior to it, for better or worse.

I legit don't understand why anyone would mod someone mid transition. They're pumped up on enough hormones to rival a teen in heat and are genuinely undergoing a second puberty with all the emotional disarray that comes with one, coupled with all the other trans shit like gender dysphoria to boot. Except they're hopefully an adult which makes them that much more dangerous than a teenager.

I've been watching Tenma's streams and she really is a kind hearted person. Even her twitter is wholesome.

Tenma is a pretty emotional little gal all over. She tends to oscillate a lot and feels pretty genuine. She's really nice sometimes, other times she can wig right the fuck out and go nuclear with minimal warning, like against morons such as Kyle. I remember her very nearly going full yandere when somebody called her a 'knock off Pekora' in Discord, but then immediately 180'd and became extremely apologetic when somebody explained they meant it as a joke.
