don't think she planned to either, but tbh that's usually the normie reaction when you confront them with "funny" cringe from the depths of the internet, just had that last week when a mate irl thought it was a good idea to namedrop chris' deed in front of a group and then tried to explain it.@ZMOT Yeah, I'm sure Pippa never intended to broach serious issues when she started the Chris-chan stream. It's just that Tenma's reaction was something of a reality-check for Pippa and the rest of us. We've been hearing about Chris-chan for years now, but for Tenma, seeing it all laid out at once must have been horrifying. She could see the tragedy of the situation more clearly than we could because of our familiarity with it and our expectation that anything involving Chris-chan would be fucked up.
Tenma could have played along with the joke and made fun of Chris-chan like everyone else, playing up her reactions for the sake of entertainment, but instead she chose to draw attention to the seriousness of the situation, which I think shows admirable integrity.
it's worse when you're not the type for it and like me don't really care about it in the first place (so not funny either). of course there's a german word for it (which apparently was the word of the year 2010 in austria, to give you a sense of the scale), in english according to wikipedia it's called
Vicarious shame: refers to the experience of shame on behalf of another person. Individuals vary in their tendency to experience vicarious shame, which is related to neuroticism and to the tendency to experience personal shame. Extremely shame-prone people might even experience vicarious shame even to an increased degree, in other words: shame on behalf of another person who is already feeling shame on behalf of a third party (or possibly on behalf of the individual proper).
imo not the best description but you get the drift. that's why mii-chan's reaction didn't surprise me at all and I halfway expected for the whole thing to make that turn. trying to joke about it when you don't feel it would've been pretty obvious and cringe on it's own, her reaction was just natural.
now, as a palate cleanser an elite shrine maiden clapping without moving her hands (at 0:57), getting loud and showing some sideboob:
genki, gloriously chaotic and giving no fucks, what's there not to like.she must be a very likeable person irl
you're not alone, said pretty much the same back then, think it was along the lines of what that "freedom to do whatever" is worth when she's missing the rest of hololive, especially since a lot of people wanted to blame cover.Given my nickname, I might or might not get extra hate for saying this. But I had very high hopes for kson, and as much as it hurt to let Coco go I kind of figured that she might of had some sort of greater picture in mind that I wholeheartedly supported. But now that we're a month and a half later I'm going to be entirely honest and say that I'm a bit disappointed in what we've been offered so far. Granted, I know that we still don't have Daikou v.3.0. But considering that apparently the main thing we're missing out of with that are collaborations, I'm a bit iffy on whether or not that is going to make it all worth it.
And also, please don't quote me with shit I literally was the first person to say on this thread, I know. I can still have a different opinion with that information.
don't get me wrong she'll always be who she is but collabs and indirectly working with the others was a huge part of that and was to a certain degree what made her so popular. others might have more rose-tinted goggles or hope, but it's pretty much what I expected (no hate or claiming she "needs" hololive or whatever, she'll always be our kaichou, just being aware that it won't be the same and what's changed).
sure, she can still collab, but with indies there's still the... let's say "cohesion" and recognition missing you automatically get from hololive. getting into melody memes only works for people that watch melody enough for example, same for others (edit: niji suffers a bit from the same issue). she could built up her own loose group to get back into that state, but that takes time.
TLDR: things change, everybody has to decide for themselves if it's better or worse.
