Hell, I don't even think they particularly care about people thinking bad thoughts. This is just an artillery shell fired at the enemy trench, as long as it lands close enough it's doing something. The guy could manage to crowdfund a translator and editor and release it as an e-book, but self-published e-books already have a lower status and the nature of the book itself being verboten from print means less sales and lower prices. He could probably get a higher percentage from each sale, but sales figures would be much lower as now he lacks access to Ian's fanbase. And even if he managed to get more money from the e-book than he would from a cut of the physical sales, it's still a win to them because it's also an issue of "platforming". Forcing Carolus underground is already a major victory even if they fail to defeat him financially. Lastly, this creates a chilling effect. Ian was probably stoked about this opportunity and the piranhas tore him to pieces. Now Headstamp and other niche publishing houses will be more risk averse.
The guy loading the shell into the breech doesn't think it's going to end the war. But it's going to fuck up someone on the receiving end, or at least force him to keep his head down.

A thought as I look at my books: This guy needs to go to whoever prints most of Bush War Books' catalog. Floppy slotting memoirs all day long from them.
 
With the book being cancelled and some people voicing interest in first hand accounts, I would recommend "The Freedom Fighter: A memoir of a member of the Donbass Militia in the War in Ukraine". It's written by a pretty exceptional individual with some spergy views, but it does feature some great insights into the early days of the conflict, and what the actual day to day activites were like. You can find some exerpts in this twitter thread.

I saw Ian's book announcement and the the announcement that it was getting pulled and that was all the info I had. From the way he was talking I almost had the impression that the author was a fake vet, not that people just didn't like who he fought with.

The "conservative" larp company is running a more niche business model as their entire existence is based around capturing the remaining portion of the market that's giving up on the "woke" shit. They survive off the grift, so if they weren't an already established company with a conservative bend that got swallowed by the market, they're newcomers who smelled blood in the water and decided to profit off the leftovers big corporations don't want to touch.
The "progressive" companies are often well established and often part of conglomerates, meaning that they can take gambles and in some instances may even want to purposefully manipulate stock prices. They also don't have the startup mindset and their offices are full of indoctrinated college graduates who pretty much do nothing all day. A smaller company can't afford that. There's also other less visible ways where their actions are being influenced by things like ESG scores.

Sound? he is a weak faggot, he collapsed under pressure from a whole 50 asshurt autogynephiles. He practically sucked all their girldicks with that faggy apology video. Around 1700 people were interested in that book at the time the fundraiser was shut down and it was not even a day old, but Ian the cucked faggot felt that the feelings of troons on the internet were more important than delievering a product people actually wanted.

If I was Ian, I'd want this book to be published and get a positive reception. If it remains unpublished or is published in some bastardised form, people are going to be able to keep on claiming that it was some Nazi's manifesto.

He never should have organised a kickstarter for it anyway, if he had just kept quite made the investment himself and then promoted it a year from now, he would have easily recouped his cost, I mean he got over 1800 pre orders in the space of a few hours.

He would have been in a far better position defending a finished published book that was available for anyone to read, than the version that only exists in the minds of drug addled trannies.

Also with r/forgottenweapons to use an expression from the Soprano's he should "make nice or make dead". I think one of reasons they jumped all over him is that he never engages with the Subreddit, and make no mistake they're the ones responsible for this, they wanted him to notice them and they suceeded. If he's not going to engage with the reddit he should take steps to get it shut down.

Also does anyone else think in retrospect it's a pity this didn't make the happenings thread?

Again, it wasn't a kickstarter. They were doing straight up presales through Backerkit, who's just a fulfillment system often associated with KS.

They they didn't do classical crowdfunding tells me they knew darn well this was going to be a lightning rod.

I don't think they expected the mob to go for the throat and attack the presale provider directly. I imagine Backerkit gave them assurances that it would all be fine, get get this all the time, but then balked when the sheer scale of backlash hit them in the face.

Backerkit is run by people who worship blacks and transsexuals. They offered no such assurance, and caved the moment they heard about it. It's probably the same story as GoFundMe stealing the money from Canadian truckers. They'll take your business and then break you when it's convenient.
