I used to like Demo Ranch back when the guy was grounded. The bullets in microwave videos were funny. However, it seems to me that he shifted his videos towards vlogs and silliness. Seems to me that it’s geared towards children and people who can’t own guns. I have long called him “The McJuggerNuggets of guns.” for that reason
I just call him the PewDiePie of guns instead. People tend to get it when you phrase it like that.

I think he has to share that title with Brandon Herrera.
Brandon has got the meme review, sure. But he's more dudebro and less "family friendly" than Matt. Plus he sometimes digs into slightly more technical stuff, while Matt tends to be pretty firmly planted in the zany "ISN'T THIS COOL?!" side of gun culture.

That's an incredibly concise description!

I didn't even know about his channel until fairly recently, but the whole "let's shoot this thing with progressively larger guns" schtick got old real fast. I don't get the appeal at all, aside from him seeming like a nice enough guy.

His Vetranch channel is way more interesting, but he shows actual veterinary procedures on there so if you don't like watching animal surgeries it won't be for you.

I know a couple of people who have interacted with Matt in the past (one for business reasons, the other in one of his events), and they tell me he seems like a really nice guy in real life as well. His videos don't do anything for me, but he does sound like he's got his head screwed on straight for the most part. That he's got a seemingly happy marriage and a couple kids to his name is a very rare thing among successful youtubers.

That's not his channel anymore, unfortunately. I think he stopped working as a vet so he passed it along to the rest of the crew who featured in it. The doctor running the show now (Kari? Kerry?) is pretty good, though.

Obviously I haven't watched it in a while, thanks for the info.

Just buy a kit off North American Rescue. They're probably cheaper than anything that shill would sell and actual quality gear.
It's a good thing I waited until now to purchase a med-kit, apparently North American Rescue is having a Halloween sale of sorts.

I live smack-dab in the middle of the Alaskan Bush- so while obviously this is marketed at a discount for "Frankenstein attacks" the stuff inside will be really useful for the very real risk of animal attacks.

Oh boy you'll hate Edwin Sarkissian. He did the "how many X to stop rounds" with stuff from PUBG like frying pans and replicas of the Altyn helmet.
There was one video where they pretended they were tossing a live grenade into a digger but they clearly just packed a dummy with tannerite and shot it.

I know this is a bit late, but I wanted to ask anyway. If I was to buy one of the rifles, how much of my $1700 dollars would go to Karl? I like the idea of the rifle and I’m sure it’s probably really good, I just don’t really want to be giving Karl a substantial amount of my money if I’m going to be completely honest.

I don’t know the exact percentage Brownells provides to InRange which is then split between Karl and Ian.

We sell rifles to brownells. The details of their licensing/endorsement agreement with Brownells is between them.

I found an ex-Foreign Legion soldier with his own channel; Thomas Gast. Unfortunately my German is incredibly rusty, and he's got tons of content.

I think I've mentioned it before but at least for me, the point about watching Karl is that if you have nothing to do and you're eating something or you need background noise, he's usually the best channel for that. Sure his content can get repetitive, but he's charismatic enough to make it entertaining. If he was edgier and didn't worry about monetization I'd enjoy his stuff more though.

EDIT: Meant to say Brandon

Yet even with content that's long been in his wheelhouse, the lack of enthusiasm & interest is palpable:

A lack of success comparable to his peers probably has something to do with it as well; maybe he should've thought better of going ad free, instead of virtue signaling for socialists & subversives.

Ah for fucks sake. I had a feeling I botched something up. I meant to say Brandon. I don't like Karl.

I expected little else from the FS2000, it's sealed up like a fucking diving suit. Lazy presentation? Perhaps, but what else can you say about the FS2000 on this point?

Drama has erupted on AR15.com!

how it started.PNG

Pretty normal for a boomer website like AR15.com. this is the place that the boomer meme sig line that you sometimes see on /k/ and other places originates:
USMC 1981-1982 ONCE A MARINE ALWAYS A MARINE
2 SONS DEAD IN IRAQ SAVING YOUR ASS
NRA LIFE MEMBER
MONEY DONATED TO ISRAEL SO FAR: $5,826
The thread was tame really. Some light debate about whether america was loved and respected or respected out of fear etc. read it for your self its just one page.
The first reply was OK BOOMER, it got 2 replies.

Some butt hurt but not so bad but it must have got to one of the arfcom jannies "BRASS" because he locked the thread!

"OK BOOMER" apparently causes discussions that do the site harm or causes harm to the community! He got completely ass-blasted over a meme like so many of them do. we've all seen it before.

in response users posted several threads about the lock but the main one is this:
https://www.ar15.com/forums/General/The-most-ridiculous-thread-lock-I-ve-seen-yet-/5-2500579/

Eventually the mods were summoned to give a reason why the thread was locked
Capture.PNG

He states that the "entire 1st page was insults" which is not true at all and implies there was more than 1 page when there is not. His justification of the lock is that it would take longer to individually remove posts than to start over "especially in long threads with dozens or hundreds of pages" the offending thread had but one page.

people called him out of course

he called for backup:

But none of the mods he called were online

Context: over the last few months more and more threads have been getting locked for seemingly no reason. especially Covid threads. If a thread even mentions COVID it is either locked or banished to the COVID forum where it promptly dies from lack of posts. this has ticked users off. less and less is allowed to be said on the forum, and more and more is said to be "harmful" and against the code of conduct. Arfcom is a dying site anyway (literally when you look at its user base's age) but heavy handed mods are speeding it up very quickly.

its too bad, Its a good place to get inside info on new guns/industry drama. lots of connections have been made to that site in the last ~20 years.
