I'm not sure if he's truly southern. I did some light googling and one comment said his "southern" accent is missing from his older videos. Another says Beau admitted he plays up his accent.

It actually has to do with the original Spanish flag, but there is historical debate about it due to a lot of the Southern States changing flags during Jim Crow. It can go either way, some insist it is a call out to the Confederacy, others say it isn't. During Secession, Florida didn't even have an official flag. I personally like the Bonnie Blue, but eh. The midwit redditor assertion is that the flag as is, is entirely racist.
I like to agree with it just to piss retards off but in all reality it really could be either or.

Not really scandals for the most part just him saying stupid shit. Supposedly his armor isn't NIJ certified anymore though, because the standard was updated and he just never got his armor recertified under the updated standard.

They almost had the Texas flag when they seceded. But it's extremely based and heritagepilled to have the Burgundian Cross on their flag in honor of the Spanish Empire. Most of the east coast colonies have flags that reference their founding, or used to at any rate. It's good on them for not changing it (except recently to update the coat of arms in the middle).

Well the democrats are still punishing the South one way or another. Latest being by renaming several bases. Fort Bragg to be renamed Fort Liberty among Army bases losing Confederate names While completing missing the reason why the bases were named after Confederate Generals in the first place. Or why the Confederate weren't considered traitors as their loyalty was to their home (nation) states first and the Federal Government second before and during the ACW. Which President Johnson in the 1868 pardoned all of them rendering the loyalty to whom question moot.
