Honestly, he's pretty middle of the road (as you'd expect) and a bit extra rambly especially for the first 0:45-1:00 or so. I don't want to influence anybody's opinion more than that.

Might be worth archiving since he's deleted controversial videos within a day or so in the past. Can't do it myself right now cuz phone.

That video is 4.3 gigabytes I ripped a local copy but I don't have any video editing software on my PC to segment it with.

Paul also has a Rumble (this video on Rumble), Odysee, and Full30. Rumble seems to have the most videos, but Odysee has the most views.

Despite all the memes, it's clear Karl is actually intelligent. Whenever he's not sperging about politics he can put out good content. Problem is, he's become an ideologue. And an ideologue's brain immediately shuts down and reverts to monkey-banging-sticks-and-throwing-shit behavior the instant their ideology is challenged.

There's nothing that says smart people can't be wrong. In fact, when smart people are wrong they're often even more wrong than dumb people because they become very good at rationalizing away their mistakes. That's a common thing with a lot of lolcows. Some are dumb as bricks, but many of them are very intelligent people who will not dig themselves out of the cognitive holes they dug for themselves. And we make fun of them for it.

Ian has had a long term plan in mind from the start, and that included a certain sense of branding. Even 10 years ago, when politics were not nearly as toxic as they are now, he was aware that politics were, by their very nature, divisive; further, he made the conscious decision to make his public persona that of a firearms scholar, and just that. People know what to expect of him.

That's exactly the issue with Karl: no one knows what to expect from his content. I was subscribed to InRange for a while, but then noticed that for every good gun video, another 3 completely unrelated to the topic came out as well. Independent of my personal leanings, I don't go on YouTube to be lectured about what's right or wrong; I just want to watch cool shit and learn. That's why I unsubscribed from InRange, and continue to follow Ian in general.

The Old West Vignettes series was pretty great, despite the low production value. It's a shame that they took so much time and money to make for such a low return on investment. I'm fairly certain that constantly arguing against the legend of Wyatt Earp probably burnt him out on the whole idea as well.

He could provide some pretty nuanced coverage, too. One of my favorite videos in InRange is this one:


Karl doesn't immediately go "bigoted rural cops bad, black urbanites good" on that one, he takes the time to explain the relevant points of view and mostly sticks to the facts of the whole clusterfuck. Man...
