General GunTuber thread

I've been following the AR15 thread and someone brought up the "Community Defense Rifle". Maybe I'm late on this but, I know we had discussed the "Civil Defense Rifle" a while back but when did the "Community Defense" come about? Was there a marketing shift to get more lefties?

"Community Defense" has a very specific meaning to leftists. Strangely the "Civil Defense Rifle" isn't even on KE's website anymore.

Can't talk about the word games (good catch) but they're two different specs. The Civil Defense Rifle is cheaper than the 'WWSD' but still has a cassette trigger and a Faxon pencil barrel, etc. I also bet the branded "Civil Defense" one is Brownells exclusive like the mainline WWSD, and looking there, it's still available.

The "Community Defense Rifle" is even cheaper and uses a milspec trigger, different barrel, etc. Questionable word choice, sure, but they're two different guns, not a rebrand. I recall an email a while back when they came out with this talking about how they did an exercise for the cheapest complete KP-15 they could come up with and I guess it got productized.

Oh and look what ARFCOM drudged up in their Karl thread. It looks like a list of members of an LLC that also, perhaps, looks to be the initial investors of the KP-15 tooling costs Ian mentions in this video (timestamped)
. Looks like it's made of owners of KE Arms, Ian McCollum and Ian Harrison the bong from RecoilTV and matches with the timeframe Ian was giving in his video. If that's true then when bong Ian was reviewing the WWSD2020 lower he would have had a financial interest in doing so and not just doing it "for free" and "as a friend" as Russel said earlier. Does Ian Harrison get any proceeds from KP-15 sales?
Knowing the editor in chief for 15 years and being local and accessible to dump 1000 rounds through a machine gun has nothing to do with it.

cheapest complete KP-15
KE Arms lower, DPMS lower parts kit, PSA upper.

I probably just saved a couple hundred dollars over the community watch gun. If you're gonna call it the cheapest go whole hog, don't give me a free float handguard with MLOK and a full length rail, and don't give me the fancy schmancy slick side upper. Sell me an actual shitrod or GTFO of here with your fake ass "cheapest" bullshit.

carbon polymer lower that may or may not rot from UV radiation from the sun or heavily blemished lower receiver, bear creek arsenal upper, UTG everything else.

True poverty fag build.

Honestly a stripped Anderson would most likely be the same amount of money.

Ian made another video explaining some of the details of Midnight Brutality. Notably, he discusses the comment that it is very expensive for a night match.

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume they don't have a lot of sign ups for him to do this. I felt like his first video may have dissuaded a lot of people because he did mention if you haven't been to a brutality style match before, don't show up due to the safety difficulties. Of course, maybe Karl's sperging has lead to an issue of alienating people that have the kit to participate in such an event.

Pro Tip: commies, SRA, John Brown Gun Club, and Tenacious Unicorn Battalion types don't have the money to afford good weapon setups, let alone $3000+ NVG kit.

My understanding is that the complaints started in the discussion phase before the official announcement.

It's my belief most of the complainers don't have nods. IIRC it has a white light division so maybe that's a bit valid, but still, git gud. Night matches are hard to put on. I doubt they'll have much of a problem getting entrants.

You can build a lighter and less expensive 'budget' KP15-based rifle yourself still. I actually like the KP-15, but anyone with the remotest hint of mechanical aptitude could save a fair bit of coin by building at home.
The KP15 lower and the Faxon barrel are like the only two parts of the WWSD that I actually think are worth the money.

Agreed. Everything else is up to the buyer - the most important (and weight-saving) parts are just those things. Just use a semi-lightweight handguard (I used a 12" Atlas S-One) with those and you'll come in comfortably under 6#.

Honest to god I'd just do an M4gery but with the KP15 lower and pencil barrel. But even then I wouldn't really be saving much weight at all wince the M4 stock is pretty much the lightest stock you can put on an AR and the KP15 lower isn't that much lighter than a traditional aluminum lower with a buffer tube and collapsing M4 stock.

Fair. I think we can all agree that more people should build at home - the country would only benefit by having a larger population of AR builders than it does now. :)

I think I recall this dude getting mentioned in the thread before when he met up with Brandon and that group, so I'll post the drama. It's got YouTube and guns in it, it counts.

Two weeks ago he published a video on another channel demonstrating lax gambling regulations in New South Wales, where gambling revenue is tax-free and is used by organised crime to launder money with the knowledge of the gambling industry. The video features a guest named Troy Stolz, a gambling whistleblower currently being sued into the ground by ClubsNSW for exposing their complicity in large-scale money laundering. He's an authority on the subject, as he managed ClubsNSW's anti-money laundering operations for ten years. ClubsNSW are also suing the other guest star of the video, a YouTuber/journalist called friendlyjordies for publishing an interview with Troy. Also this guy's house was firebombed twice in one week.

Curious that the police decide to show up, over four years after the video was made (and ignoring all the other documented lawbreaking on his channel), right after a video criticising the local government comes out.

Interesting idea. I wonder how long the testing will take before he releases the .stl files.
Test fire @ 15:00 and 17:30(in hand)

Saw this video from Alaskan Ballistics where he tests the armor penetration capabilities of various 5.56 projectiles loaded into full pressure 22-250 loads. Very interesting results, far better than I expected, but still not a true armor buster. Thought you guys might like it.

Sounds like a mighty big cohencidence for our boy down under, but I can't muster much sympathy. Faggot craves boot to throat and he got it. I'd find it hilarious if he ends up doing time over breaking one of their insane "gun" laws, even if its just punishment for calling attention to corruption.

Calls for regulation and then gets regulated....

Solid copper bullets do a wonder at being civilian grade armor penetrators (California doing something gay ended up actually being a positive). Issue is that most of them are cucked hard by the hunting boomers by having polymer tips and serious hollow points. SIG jewer copper elite and surplus M62a1's, and it's 5.56 equivalent, are the only solid coppers I know that aren't cucked. They won't punch through level 4 plates in one go but the amount of energy dumped with how far it does make it through will be enough to break a fuck ton of ribs and the chest bone if using .308 solid coppers.
