Fill me in on URGI?What’s the odds M4 urgi will end up becoming the true M4 replacement?
The Spear is definitely not going anywhere far, it's simply way too retarded on paper and in practice.
In my opinion, the only way that ideas from NGSW could have made sense would be to transform the concept from a standard issue infantry rifle (and MG) into a true DMR, and there could be some potential in some of these ideas:
- Conventional 6.8mm rifle cartridge, no plastic bullshit or bimetal case crap, loaded for much more normal chamber pressures with a hardened steel core/tip.
- Bullpup design so you can have an extra long (probably fluted) barrel to increase velocity a good bit, reversible ejection and all that.
- Conventional action, like a rotating bolt and short-stroke piston (but maybe a modified Stoner "DI" could be devised, as to make the action as in-line as possible).
- Semi-auto only, together with a long barrel this would be a less gainly gun for entry but this isn't the doorkicker's gun, this is for extending the reach of the squad.
- Free-float and then bipod. Possibly grip-pod.
- Doesn't need to be a true sub-MOA sniper's rifle, as long as it could maintain 1MOA for a good while it'd be good.
- Supposed magic optic might actually make some sort of sense in this role, but even then just a good conventional optic goes far here.
There's always that positive, and this is a ball which they simply can't stop the rolling on (I was gunpilled by Goldeneye 64), but I still worry for the status of gun content on YouTube as a whole. This will make guns cooler to zoomers. Same way call of duty and battlefield made guns cool for a whole generation.
Paul is really distinct in personality and presentation, but in fairness Roy is also in the process of building up to and adapting into this role. He's not as good, but I'm willing to give him a shot for a while and see if he'll git gudder at this.I don't enjoy Roy as Paul's replacement.
