That's cast lead bullet stuff. For a hollow point frontal area doesn't matter nearly so much as how fast it opens and if the expansion is controlled enough that it doesn't loose petals. There's all kinds of ways (expander plugs, and clever jacket/core design being the prime two) to ensure fast and reliable expansion in a bullet that isn't some 1990's flying ashtray.might be good for feeding but its worse for effect on target. the flatter the nose and the bigger the meplat the better a slug will work on a animal or person.
