General GunTuber thread

That was never going to happen lol
I'm pretty sure allied troops engaging the soviets in the winter war would mean the realignment of the Soviet union against allied forces.
You'd get a Berlin-Moscow axis for certain.

Tangentially related to guntubbers: MajorSamm had a gay breakdown and deleted everything:
He was starting to make some good documentaries, but I guess attracting the "wrong" crowd scared his British/Australian ass off.

They are just unlisted, not deleted (yet). These were the only two I had access too

Fucking shame. Loved his stuff

One of the most frustrating things about Ivan is how he seems to be incapable of treating people with civility on the internet.
Civility is gay. You should verbally abuse people for being wrong and throw shit at their head for being fucking monkeys who can't understand something. It's not my fault these monkeys can't learn to wear shoes. In the words of Ronald Reagan.

Nah, you should always be civil until you can't reason with that person anymore.
I like focustripp because he calls out bullshit and shits on people in a subtle way.

Meanwhile Sydney Sweeny is shooting sandvipers with Taran Tactical.

I wonder if Taran Butler is making her show the EDGE of her PRECIOUS or if she's too old for him.

ETA: Since @fuddMOGGER is a nigger-dick sucking faggot and is obviously offended at me making fun of Taran Butler of Taran Tactical, I'll remind everyone that Taran Butler of Taran Tactical is sicko who preys on young women:

I had to unsubscribe from Paul H's channel because after his brother took over when he died it's like watching someone try to wear a Buffalo Bill skinsuit of their own brother.
Honestly since the above is the average guntubber now what is left? Hop and his friends? MAC? C&Rsenal? Forgottenweapons when he isnt shilling or being cringe in those crossfit with guns shit?

I find myself watching much less guntube stuff. I think it's because I've pretty much settled on the guns I have with the attachments they have. I'm not particularly interested in whatever new shit is coming out. There's very little reason to watch most of the bigger channels because all they tend to do is shill some new bullshit gun or accessory. I also don't care about most of the prepper LARP shit that channels like Dirty Civilian and Barrel & Hatchet jabber about.

There's way too much consumerism in the guntube space. You need to have an EDC pistol, a duty pistol, an SBR, a GRP, an SPR, a DMR, a PDW. You need a battle belt, a chest rig, a plate carrier, ballistic helmet, NODs. You need drones, thermal imaging, e-bikes (lol). Don't forget to get an IAR and ARPK now that FRTs and Super Safeties are everywhere. Make sure you take a CQB class so you can improve your footwork.

It's all become incredibly tiresome.

I remember the first time I saw Garand Thumb. I thought he was utterly baffling. I got into watching guntubers via Iraqveteran8888. That made sense to me. Bunch of hillbillies selling guns in a pawn shop. It was a bit like reality TV. Honey Boo Boo for men. And I'd watched Hitchcock45. Enormous ex-school teacher who liked shooting six guns on his land. Again, it was comprehensible. Then there were those guys who were trying to flog training like James Yeager. He seemed crazier than a box of frogs, but I understood his motivation.

But who was this guy, dressing up and playing soldiers in full battle rig? I initially assumed he was some kind of mall ninja and when I found out he was actually a real soldier, it seemed even weirder. Who's watching this shit? Can't be other soldiers. That'd be like taking coals to Newcastle. So I assumed he was just catering to that mall ninja audience, but if you want to play at being soldiers, why wouldn't you just sign up and get a paycheck for it? Who's spending thousands of their own money to larp at being a soldier? I know, as men, we're mostly just little boys with more money but wouldn't you be embarrassed?

It all seemed completely mystifying to me.

I still tune in just to pass the time. Once you kind of get to a level where you’re established with guns and gear it’s more just mindless slop. Occasionally someone like Blue Jean Operator will do an interesting video or have a piece of kit I’ll be interested in due to it being Russian oriented, but you watch so many basic videos on set ups and gripping pistols and go out and shoot enough it just ends up being background noise.

The commercial market is practically in free fall right now for overlapping reasons. This has meant guntubers have had to push harder or change out advertisers. Every time they oversell or just plain huck garbage or gimmicks, a largely silent cohort lose trust and interest in their opinions. Same is true for decent luxury goods, but for other reasons: "I am better than you," might not be what they are saying at all, but it's what a lot of people hear.

I have noticed too many of my peers say "well if they pay enough." I have been mocked for refusing good money on harmless, but overpriced products. Here is the problem though: if I recommend you buy something that mostly works and costs 3x what it should... That buyer's remorse is going to come back to affect an intangible currency I have been banking up: Good Will.

Sure GW isn't money, but it is a relationship modifier. It gives a skill buff to everything I say. It helps people feel OK with direct, honest marketing like merchandise or donations. Every falsehood diminishes GW in your viewership. How much and how easily depends on the viewer. When they go quietly it is a loss, but I think you guys have seen time and again that once they get jilted, they start actively eroding the rest of your base.

Now all of that is just the business argument. More personally I really just couldn't sleep at night if I pushed something I would not use.

If you ever need to supplement the C&Rsenal income, you could write a solid intro to marketing textbook. Just stretch this comment for a few hundred pages, throw some review questions in, and you're golden. Maybe we can get a new crop of marketers who understand that half-truths, technical truths, and outright falsehoods are bad for business in the long-term.
