I thought the semi dp-28s were prats kit guns? Those kits were only like $500 with a Spare barrel At one point.

I think they're probably referring to the SMG Gun Store ones. They offer a service to reweld the receiver and they also offer complete guns. They've also made a conversion device that lets you use PKM belts that goes for $2500 just by itself.

The prices are really steep, but they do good work. I'm doing a semi-auto Bren build at the moment and I am almost tempted to send my kit in because it's a pain in the ass.

I just want a FAMAS that doesn't cost me my internal organs guys....

My dream gun is a Type 64. They're probably shit and supposedly use downloaded 7.62NATO but I want a modern replacement for my Arisaka.

00Shawn is so fucking funny to me, I miss the era of delusional boomers yelling into their phones out of pure anger/spite/whatever. These days it seems like people only make videos like this to grift donations or whatever.

00Shawn is right up with Yankee Marshall with being these retarded left wing gun guys. Like, I get the fat left commie gun guys, they think they will get an AK for the peoples army or whatever but these boiler plate Democrats who are gun guys are bizarre to me. They pretend like Democrats aren't always trying to take their guns.

feel free to disregard it and substitute a term of your choice to describe Austin’s parasocial followers who engage in harassment of Shawn—or any of Austin’s other targets—on his behalf.

It's daft to suggest that the morons who harrass YouTube creators do so 'on behalf' of whoever is using them to create content. The retards who do that shit generally don't need any encouragement, but the losers on the other end of the harrassment love to play victim and accuse the people who use their videos for content as somehow being complicit with the victimizers.

In my view, pretty well all YouTube creators are retarded. You don't need additional invented criticisms to make them look bad. Most of them look bad enough without making stuff up.

In this case, Austin has made four videos so far this year directing his audience to harass Shawn, and he personally encourages his parasocials to do so in the comment sections.

Speaking of rewelds has anyone given it a try for themselves? I picked up a couple full original VZ.61 kits (minus barrel) with cut receivers a year or two ago and have been dying to have it attempted on one. This guy has a helpful how-to series and I even bought one of his jigs.

They were clearing out these kits for $150 a year ago: https://max-arms.com/product/vz-61-kit-32acp-matching-parts-kit/

I'm learning rewelding at the moment. I started off with zero idea of what to do, I took a local community college class on welding to learn some of the basics, started off buying some cheap PM63 and Vz61 and went from there. I started with TIG but now I'm looking at learning more MIG for this Bren I am working on.

If I'm being honest it has been a money and time sink, but it's a lot of fun. If you have your own equipment I would definitely say give it a go, but if you're starting from scratch it's not going to be as easy as you might think (or at least that's what happened to me).

Is Yankee Marshall still a commie? Only thing I remember about him is when he went to CHAZ to see how wonderful the antifa/BLM zone was without cops, but got assaulted and his phone stolen.

If he has done that, then that's genuinely retarded. I watch his videos and haven't ever seen anything like that though. The stuff you posted just seemed like he was being ironic to me. If he was genuinely encouraging parasocials to harrass Shaun in his videos, I'd have thought it'd be the easiest thing in the world to get strikes against his channel.

Given how retarded YouTubers tend to be, and how much worse their paypiggies are, nothing would surprise me. But I'm pretty sure genuine campaigns of harrassment would be an easy takedown.

VW might have been being ironic or whatever he should still understand how that can be perceived and the chance if his fans taking shit too far. That said from what I've seen of 00shawn, he is a complete piece of shit and probably deserves what he gets.

I haven't, but it is my policy to aggressively encourage people to just try shit they are interested in. Most things aren't as hard as you imagine they will be. I bet you're gonna have a great Vz61.

If you're getting into welding, you should practice and start small. Most people get into it hoping to be a savant but end up with a lot of voids and blobs if they don't just burn clear through material. Don't be the meth head.
I have a lot to learn about these sorts of things. I had no idea people re-weld parts kits, I always assumed they just make new receivers. I am pretty experienced in welding. Does anybody know what parts kits are cheap these days? Once I move to America maybe I'd like to try my hand at this.

The best place to get cheap parts kits is 2006 before the barrel ban. You missed out on the $50 Yugo milled AK parts kits which is how everyone got started on welding kits. Back in the 80s and early 90s the parts kits coming in were only cut up with a saw and not blowtorched which made it even easier. If you're willing to spend a lot of money on old AK parts kits you could still do it but a stamped receiver is only 1mm thick so unless you're master welder I'd not bother. Milled parts kits are super expensive. Unless you want to collect rare AKs and know how to match finishes it's not worth it.

Sorry man, you're like a decade late to the party.
Yeah that figures, seems to be a pattern the more I learn lol

I spend a lot of my time welding and finishing sheet metal so actually this seems right up my alley. Fingers crossed that I can actually do something interesting and cool when I get out of here.

start with a sten kit. you just have to weld the trigger pack, barrel and stock on. receiver is steel tubing. the sten was made to be easy to make and not require a factory.

Watch Apex and GunPartsCo(Numrich), they have some that are relatively untouched. Madsen and Bren guns are usually on the low end that people buy and sit on, PM 63s are rising in price but still around because people think they can do their own semi-auto conversion and AKs are ridiculous as are most subguns. It's difficult these days.
