General GunTuber thread

I'm a bit of a purist and I don't like to modify my guns all that much. Mostly because I have a policy of only holding on to three guns at a time so I tend to trade my guns semi-regularly. It keeps the wife happy, and keeps me from sinking too much money into the hobby. But so long as the gun works and it's not completely heretical (like ruining a rare gun) I'm fine with letting people have fun with their property.

In Ian's case I can see where he was coming from, and I can't even too mad because he's clearly embarrassed by his own past work. 15 years are plenty of time for someone to improve, after all. I imagine if he tried to do the same project today he'd do things substantially different. And again, he's clearly having fun. I've seen a couple bubbas in my time that insisted their guns were great, all the while gritting their teeth whenever they pulled the trigger on their cut-down Mosins or "lightened" SKSs.
That kind of shit is depressingly common in my particular neck of the woods, a combination of injuns, rednecks, country bumpkins, and the land rich but money poor tends to breed that sort of thing. With that said however, I cannot begrudge someone modifying their own property even in a way that I disagree with because at the end of the day it really doesn't affect me, I can still laugh at them being idiots though, and if they're happy with the work then that's all the better because when I'm done laughing at them being idiots I can be happy right along with them.

Here we are, talking about idiots going for the newest overpriced gear they don't need... meanwhile Ian is pulling his old bubba guns out of the safe again.

That "flashlight" holder is nothing short of hideous, and the scope despite being technically functional makes my head hurt, but I'll grant it to the man: he does look like he's having a blast firing that damn thing. And it might not even be the concussion.

Call me fucking late, but god damn, would it be fun to see a dude who goes out of his way to collect and shoot the bubba'ed as fuck guns. Like, all the shitty hacksaw marks, JB weld, and sweat rings on the wood of a bubba M1 "sporter" would be fun.
Just a good five minutes going over all the proclivities and minutia of a jacked Mosin.
God I would kill for that content.

"Sup guys, bought this bubba'ed SP-1 from a rambling 70 year old man at a local gun show. The stock has a worn down homemade side saddle to hold an extra mag, that's rotting. The "free-floating" handguard is just the handguard sawn roughly in half. Every shot causes the thing to jiggle and I'm %80 percent sure the thing is going to spontaneously crumble to pieces in my hand sooner or later."

"This is a Chrysanthemum Arisaka rechambered in .269 Wildebeest (7x78R) with a AKM underfolder stock and an M14 rear sight brazed to the back of the bolt. Let's give it a whirl."

I'd watch the hell outta that.

I knew at least two guys through the years who collected bubba guns. Unfortunately, one is paranoid about privacy and the government, and the other has a face fit for radio and a voice fit for Charlie Chaplin movies. Even if they wanted to run a channel like that, the problem with those guns is that they're usually either dangerous to fire (the mutilated AK Brandon Herrera fixed could have really injured someone if the gas block had stayed on for more than 3 seconds), or the most "unique" thing about them is how much dremel and blu-tack the bubba used on his masterpiece compared to all the other bubba'd samples of the same gun.

I'd watch a show like that, for sure, but it's not as easy to find good content for it as one would assume. Even more so if the guy running the show only featured "safe" guns. And then you'd have all the "why are you encouraging people to fuck up their gunnnnnns?!?!" hate mail...

Fellow AK74 chads what do we do? Nigger lover Biden banned the further importation of Russian ammo and as far as I know they were the only ones making 5.45 for the US markets.
Reload or sit on your stockpile for at least a year and hope '22 elections congress turns R and they repeal it. Or pray domestic manufacturers pick up the slack.

I'll be honest, I'm surprised it hasn't happened sooner. The frenzy about Russian collusion really made me feel those restrictions were going to be put in place the moment Trump left office. Regardless, I love AKs but I like to stick with things I can buy ammo for locally. Can't wait to see them trying to find a justification for restricting the sale of .223, though. The way shit is going, it's got to happen sooner rather than later.

We'll start importing more ammo from Romania and other eastern european countries. Same shit happened in '94 when Clinton banned chink ammo because Norinco was trying to arm LA gangs with RPGs. Give it a year or so and it'll be back to some what normal.

lol at anyone that thinks the republicans will do anything about this. They're run by the same jew rats that run the democrats.

Imagine relying on Republicans for anything but rolling over for proglib dogma while putting up a 30 year play fight to make it look like they actually oppose the agenda.
Ah Smokey’s corollary to rule #1. If something is a core value in the Republican Party they will role over at the drop of a hat.

Lot of ambiguity on what is/isn't a new permit as it applies to import ammo, and the fact some of its coming from Yugo and Ukraine. I'd pick some up while you can if you're light but if you're solid don't give into panic buying.

Edit: Ammoseek is down. Fucking biden.
