archive.org didn't get past a login screen

also I added a poll for fun
Voted Another Fork. The Tenacity maintainer is clearly in over his head, and as funny as it would be for Sneedacity to win I can't see many serious contributors with real-name GitHub accounts willing to contribute to it.

Oh man this is starting to get good.

lol that's that Gizmodo journo who made the article about KF and byuu
:story:

Soooo... the retarded trannies that bought the Byuu ruse cruise last week are riding Cookiengineer's dick this week. Never change, Twitter.

I don't know if I'd call The Register MSM. Though they've been a running joke in the tech world for a couple of decades now, so they have about as much credibility as the MSM.
The Register have always been snarky buggers, but they used to have more self-awareness and once published decent articles. They're basically the Cracked of the IT world.

Everytime I think sneed has gone stale they manage to pull of stunts like this :story: Godsneed, /g/
FTFY

And now this thread turns into a softwarecow.
So is SneedaCity just the latest version of Audacity without the telemetry gunk? Has anyone tried it? Does it have a cool program icon? I have a years-old version of Audacity installed, but will definitely upgrade if there's a cool icon.
Yeah it's pretty good. Pretty much the same as regular Audacity, just without the spook behind the scenes (and some other funny sneed memes).

I remember a talk given by a Microsoft developer about how they created the Ribbon UI. They used usage statistics to determine where to put stuff. The stuff people use all the time got placed behind fewer (or no) menus. Meanwhile the stuff people almost never use can be more hidden. I thought I had it saved on my computer (since the presentation wasn't on YouTube when I watched it) but I can't find it. There may have been more to it, but I can't remember since it's been so long.
This? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tl9kD693ie4

Tantacrul, the guy who is leading the UX changes for the pozzed Audacity, mentioned this talk in a video about Sibelius. Small world.

Just to be clear, he or someone else claimed to get stab, an illegal dangerous act from a clearly deranged autist (if it even happened (which I doubt( and doubt would work because most people are smart enough to change IP on image boards))), and he wants to piss off random anons who he already claims to be insane with the knife incident, by showing off their IPS if they didn’t have vpn and virtual machines, doxxing them (which is illegal), and letting them be found or their details shown alongside it under the assumption that’d even work.

For such a supposedly smart contributor, he sure is a retard at litterally anything else. Holy cheese balls Batman. And giving out his phone number too, does he want to be ACTUALLY stabbed? Because I’m confident that there’s enough autism in this world concentrated on the boards to get some retard to go after him in some way, shape. Or form.

As someone who semi-regularly contributes to some very very autistic FOSS projects and cares quite a lot about FOSS and music, I gotta say, I was never bothered by the telemetry in the first place.

It was clearly opt-in, and was only very basic user data. They also offered compile options that removed it completely. I understand, and appreciate the principle of not having at all, but that's why we make forks! If you don't want it in, just use a fork. If you don't want it in, and are too retarded to find a fork or to remove it yourself from the codebase and recompile, you really lack the requisite knowledge to be discussing the whole thing in the first place.

Lotsa people on /g/ are just people who have installed linux once, maybe use it on the daily, maybe they're also "IT technicians," but know jack shit about actual software development or the philosphies surrounding it. Same thing with a lot of the trannies. Sure, there are some great programmer trannies, but most of them as well are just retards who like video games and want to pretend they know anything about software. I can guarantee most of these retards had to Google what telemetry was in the first place, and their eyes glaze over when you ask if they've taken a look the the PR.

>Decide to code a fork for Audacity, creating a free and open alternative without spyware thereby improving the world.
>Get threats from /g/ for not naming it after their favorite /tv/ meme.
>"Nah i think steamed hams was the superior one".
>Go to bed.
>hear "SNEEEEEED" from the corner of your room.
>before you can react you feel a sharp pain.
>colon and organs splash on the floor from being sliced up with a balisong.
>wake up in the ER.
>nobody believes you, not even on twitters.
