I agree there's strong correlation, I just don't think it's a trigger for trooning out. More likely you already wanna troon out and then you start watching a bunch of anime that has androgynous (if not straight-out trap) characters and that feeds into your delusion that you too can be the kawaai neko gf, but the desire has to be there to begin with. It's similar to how fat nerds used to escape into superhero comics and live vicariously through all the ripped badasses in those; guarantee you if it was as easy to go on a juice cycle as it is to get on titty skittles there'd have been a bunch of roided out Comic Book Guys in the 80s and 90s just like there are a plague of troons now.
You could say the same about vidya: Games like Rapeplay and Hatred exist, yeah, but the vast majority of people who play games have no interest in that shit, so I don't think it's fair to point to its existence and the niche of degenerates who consoom it as proof the entire orchard is rotten.
I think autism is the strongest, most consistent factor in all of this, combined with the growing trend of parents allowing their kids, sperg or otherwise, to be raised by the internet. That's a breeding ground for all forms of extremism, it just happens that trooning out is the easiest and carries the most benefits, so the path of least resistance wins out.
I wouldn't necessarily discount a different order of operations; imagine being an impressionable teenager watching anime. Going online to discuss it with fellow fans. Tranny goblins pounce and lie him into the cult before anyone can think to warn him. It's not the anime that did it, mind you, but it brought this hypothetical teenager to troonery. I wouldn't blame a forest for containing an ogre cave, but I'd tell passers-by that something hideous made its home there.

I don’t think it’s so much the anime, as the fandoms around the anime? Presumably people are watching anime in a variety of dubbed languages/subtitles through SE Asia and beyond, but the countries with escalating troonery are either English speaking or those with a near universal high standard of English as a second language (eg Scandinavia, Germany, The Netherlands).
I’m a gen Xer so I’m mostly learning about this stuff from posters here but I think, for the boys at least, video games are a bigger factor than anime, specifically, playing as female characters. Making ‘friends’ in game leads to setting up social media accounts that reflect your game character rather than your actual self (which might well be an autistic neet shut in) and if that character has more social life than you do (even if it’s just online) it almost makes sense to let the character take over.
The kids that are attracted to this stuff/likely to spiral into it are the lonely nerdy ones. Sporty kids live in material reality, they have team mates, rivals etc.
Porn also plays a role, teenagers are getting their dopamine via porn/games/online likes and retweets, rather than snogging and getting felt up behind the bike sheds (and shoplifting/hitchhiking/going to gigs or whatever other stupid shit teens used to do).
where are the up and coming bands that used to facilitate new subcultures for youths? I’m actively looking for it but all I see is kids mining musical history and reenacting long dead subcultures (how come all these mullets?) is this post modernism (there is nothing left that hasn’t already been done) or capitalism (rising property prices been the shitty little gig venues and punk pubs got bulldozed). Or are kids just not picking up instruments, and thus not forming bands because it’s easier to play guitar hero than it is to learn to play guitar?
It’s almost as if there is no way to be non-conforming without that non-conformity being somehow related to LGBTXYZ, whereas punks had blue hair just for the hell of it.
Family structure changes, such as more lone parents, two-home divorced parent families, blended step families or simply both parents working outside the home must have an affect too, even if it’s just the lack of a full time stay at home parent - leaving kids indoors alone, gaming or roaming the internet, getting groomed. Paedos have always been everywhere, but accessing children/teens used to be a lot harder (hence joining the priesthood). Housing costs getting increasingly disproportionate to income is massive reason why kids are less likely to have a stay at home parent.
Back in the day, teens used to get occasionally get flashed at by pervy old men, but now the flashers are sending dick pics online and it’s almost normalised. Wtf is that doing to the developing mind?

I’ve noticed over the last few months that teens are starting to put their Myers Briggs personality test results in their bios, alongside pronouns. What’s that about? Why are they all identifying as having rare mental illnesses? Is this just because ordinary white kids aren’t coping with IDPOL and desperately need to feel special/not be branded as oppressors due to some trait they can’t control? Almost no one feels ‘privileged’ in puberty (except physically gifted jock types) so flooding our schools with SJW BLM stuff is inevitable going to leave them looking for an ‘I’m not like other white people’ exit clause.
