Culture Gilbert Gottfried Dead at 67

Famed comedian and actor Gilbert Gottfried has passed away at the age of 67. Actor Jason Alexander shared the news on his Twitter account with the message, "Gilbert Gottfried made me laugh at times when laughter did not come easily. What a gift. I did not know him well but I loved what he shared with me. My best wishes and sympathy to his family. #ripGilbertGottfried" Fellow comedian and editor Emery Emery also shared a message mourning the passing of Gottfried: "On the morning I'm releasing my latest film, I discover my friend and colleague, Gilbert Gottfried has passed. I am so so sad. Gilbert graciously lent his voice to the "Science Friction" project and he will be dearly missed but never forgotten. This is his hilarious contribution."

Gilbert Gottfried's official Twitter account later confirmed his death.

NO
WHY
WHY WASNT IT ANDY DICK
WHY IS IT NEVER FUCKING ANDY DICK

We fucking lost Norm MacDonald, Gilbert Gottfried, Bob Saget, and Trevor Moore, and yet Andy fucking Dick is still drawing air on this earth. IP2 needs to do the world a favor and finish what Jon Lovitz started, preferably in a more violent, degrading and rapey fashion, as Andy Dick deserves.
I first saw Jon in A League of Their Own and his voice reminded me of Steve Buscemi. I thought he was kinda funny but just meh. Then I discovered thanks to Kathy Griffin that Jon almost murdered Andy for getting Phil Hartman and wife on drugs. I loved him after that. He did a bad romcom with Michelle Pfeiffer and Paul Rudd. All three of them were the best parts of the film. THEN I found The Critic. An underrated gem.

Gilbert was fantastic in everything. He even did educational stuff too like a fire PSA and being in Cyber Chase or whatever its called on PBS.

(BTW Steve Buscemi is king shit. He needs an Oscar)

We really are losing all the good ones we got left, boys. Kinda sucks, ngl :(

So far, Doug Benson has had the best send-off, imo:

I'd like to share one of my favorite moments of Gottfried's career: that time he roasted George Takei

And someone made this nice little tribute video to some of his best moments, for added nostalgia:

Rest in peace, you legendary funny man. Thank you for never cucking out on your humor. :feels:

I swear to fucking god, Bill Cosby must've made some fucking deal with the devil because his black rapist ass is still alive despite him being ancient af while every other decent, non-rapist, and relatively young comedian have been dropping dead left and right.

RIP Gilbert Gottfried, Bob Saget, Norm Macdonald, and rot in Hell forever Bill Cosby if, and when you ever fucking get there.

called him being next when Bob Saget died, where's my no-prize?

edit:

don't worry, going off the Norm guest list hypothesis, next up is probably either Andy Dick or Todd Glass.
Andy Dick will outlive us all and Todd Glass is too easy to expect. My guess is either Letterman or Swardson.

Has there been anyone cheering for Gilbert's death, given some of his non-PC takes?

worst news.

I used TikTok because he was on there the last year or two. Hostage videos from his granddaughter.

He's always been funny, I'll miss him.

Yes, because of course there is.

She's really saying she's glad he's dead because he put the word "eskimo" in his twitter bio once.

"It's only okay to tell these jokes about people I don't like because it's politically righteous!!"

Of course, she turned off replies. This stupid fuck is missing the point because she's not even making "jokes" about him dying, she's furious that he was celebrated as a legendary comedian while he was alive, and saying she's glad he died without even an ounce of irony or sarcasm.

Take a gander at her mutuals circlejerking in agreement that Gilbert was the most horrible human being alive for making meanie no-no jokes that social media says is bad. https://twitter.com/della_morte_/status/1513976156889960450

Zoomers really can't fucking tell the difference between what a "joke" is and how a person really feels without a reddit tone indicator like /sneed or /j, or one of those stupid ass sped up gif memes with a caption on it. It must be so soul sucking being a part of a generation that's growing up so humorless and hyper politicized.

Seriously, how the fuck does anyone take a comedian saying he's "sentimental about old-time lynch mobs" as a 100% serious statement? Zoomers are somehow raised to always think that if you joke about something, you are something.

Anyone who thinks Gilbert Gottfried making offensive jokes made any living human being more racist or homophobic or bigoted is genuinely mentally ill and needs to log off immediately and talk to other human beings.

also lol at this bio
