It’s only a matter of time before someone unearth’s TheReplySeeker’s r9k posts.
This entire situation reminded me of how I got fucked off the Internet until I was a teenager though. I remember going into those AOL “KidZ Only” zones, and talking about Doom and cartoons in the chat rooms. I decided to ask my mother, “hey, how do they make sure these chats are for kids only?” and immediately got my computer taken away from me. I was pissed off at the time because my life revolved around shareware games, but in hindsight, I was likely 7-9 years of age at maximum, and probably had creepy old dudes messaging me to which I would be oblivious of. Thankfully, this being the mid-90s, webcams and shit were very uncommon and chatting with someone usually led to annoying chain emails, or having them “scroll” your chat session with bad ASCII art.
Big ups, mom. Wish other parents would eject their children from the Internet .
