Meet Graham Linehan, also known by the screen name Glinner, an Irish man that is semi-famous as a successful comedy writer in the United Kingdom. He has worked on critically acclaimed shows such as 'Father Ted' and 'The IT Crowd', among many others.

Recently though his life has taken a downward spiral. It's been a while since he's done anything worth talking about on the tele, so instead he gets his attention online. Glinner is currently most notable for whining about "Gamers", "GamerGate", and ironically enough "Misogynists" on the internet. I say that this is ironic due to the fact that well...

A) He 'face shamed' singer Dolly Parton
B) He uses words considered to be misogynistic slurs (cunt, bitch, slut, etc) about people he hates and/or disagrees with
C) He believes all women who don't think GG is a hate group are too stupid to think for themselves

This guy first came onto my radar more than a month ago while reading twitter, but I've got caught up with other threads (like Luke McKee/@VGB-OPSEC's friends and the Norasphere Rat King), along with school and hobbies (like Just Cause 2 and Fire Emblem, among my current favorites, but that's really off-topic) to bother with this guy, but I recently checked in on him again and he's still up to the usual twitter bitching in between his retweets. Almost all of it related to DANG, DIRTY GAMERS and their #GamerGate, and also Donald Trump. Because, similar to David S. Gallant, Brianna Wu, and Nora Reed, he can't stop thinking about things that he hates.

ah lineham. the guy tends to have a MASSIVE twitter tard-rage every month or so as he jumps onto the latest outrage bandwagon. Best ones are his outrage and desperate denial when he encountered women in gaynalrape, him going full stalker on some guy for calling him a cunt (complete with finding pics of his mom on a private facebook page and threatening the guy with them), Jontron/OneyNG/a few other vaguely famous internet celebs discovering he blocked them for "heresy" and collectively cringing at how embarrasing the guy is, and his recent twitter crusade to ban Sargon of Akkad for saying he doesnt want to rape some MP

Aye, it has been noted how very ironic it is that the guy who near obsessively writes women as brainless children is trying to pose himself as the great defender of women. That said, he has made a couple of rather creepy tweets in which he says the reason he is so obsessed with going full CWC at trolls is because (and I quote) "they make little girls cry". So it looks like he is just a middle aged chauvinist (with probable dementia/altzeimers) who has about as much self awareness as he does sexual magnetism

Don't have the links/archives at hand but I remember two cases where he applied his strange ideas that all of his critics are men and that all woman are feminists to two woman (one of which was shoe0nhead). He insisted they were men running sock accounts. He was proven wrong in both cases and didn't apologise. It is funny that he fucked-up in this way twice rather than adjust his conception of the world.

Oh Linehan, Linehan, Linehan.

Man, talk about a comedy writer who's best days are long behind him.

I love how he called Adam Baldwin a "failed actor" considering Baldwin has been in consistent acting work since 1983. (Taking one year off in 1999)

Baldwin was in some pretty high geeekdom roles just last year, and held down a five year recurring role in Chuck, which... in acting terms is pretty damn successful.

Sensible actors will frequently find a role and stick to it like hell because they know any film offers will be very fleeting.

Of course, Baldwin went on to play Vance Astro in two Marvel Cinematic related products and got paid pretty decently for them.

So where's Lineham's career right now?

His current show, Count Arthur Strong started off on BBC One (where all of the BBC's top flight shows live) before being downgraded to BBC Two. Typically shows go the other way and go from BBC Two to One. Which shows that it was either up for cancellation, or its viewing figures were just tolerable enough that BBC Two's controller picked up the show.

Roll back the clock a couple of years and we get this steaming turd called The Walshes, which aired on Irish RTE One, and BBC FOUR (documentaries, foreign drama) which nobody watched and then got a re-airing on BBC Two after Linehan whinged a lot at the BBC, so they shoved it on BBC Two quietly and quickly and got rid of it.

Linehan was pissed at how the BBC treated his shit 3 episode show and when they (unsurprisingly) cut it and refused to fund it further he blamed the BBC for its lack of promotion.

This is the same BBC which kept The Sky At Night running as a weekly show when Sir Patrick Moore was alive when the show was running on less than 200,000 viewers and still keeps it going now as a monthly show on BBC Four. The Beeb will always keep a show running if they know there's interest. And there was no interest in Linehan's latest turd.

This is the same Beeb that thought All About Me was a good idea, the same Beeb that gave Ben Elton another chance after Blessed, the same Beeb that seriously thought a Chris Evans fronted Top Gear would ever succeed.

In short, Graham Linehan fucked the Hell up.

This is just heartbreaking for me. I can't believe I used to respect this hypocritical loon. The tweets that have been shown in the thread and his response to his detractors come across as the insane ravings of a person who knows he's been cornered but just wants to keep going anyway. After all this, he deserves to have his career in tatters. This is behaviour I would expect from an angry teenager, not a grown man. But then what do you expect from someone who looks like an overgrown child?
