GLITCH Productions - From the guys that brought you the Super Mario 64 bloopers

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Do you guys think they have a show after tadc
They announced a new show during GlitchX 2023. If I remember correctly it's called Gaslight District and they haven't said anything about it since. They are probably going to try and finish Digital Circus first because that is probably the best business decision considering how much Murder Drones delayed the development of Digital Circus.

I have seen a good portion of people just straight up admit the fact that they just enjoy the show super casually, never thinking too hard about whats actually going on.

Maybe thats why the standards were set so embarrassingly low.
Casual fans don't make money, as well. You really need some autists on board to do that.

Someone who watches every episode of Murder Drones once only makes Glitch around 3% of a cent. A single autist can buy multiple plushies and subscribe to their subscription service that doesn't have anything of value.

TVTropes often flies under the radar, but the number of smug libshits on that site is nauseating.

So while having a conversation with a friend earlier I just had another realization regarding Murder Drones.
That's right folks! I found one other thing to say that I don't think I brought up before.

I guess throw this into the pile of "Things that would have meant something in any other series." correct me if I'm misremembering something but in the first episode the show goes out of its way to show that Uzi has pretty good engineering abilities from being able to build her own rail gun to hacking into another drone to remotely control them. Most people would see that and think especially because it's the first episode most people would think 'Oh! Being handy with mechanical stuff must be part of her character! I'm sure it'll come into play for something important later on in the series!"

And then she only utilizes those abilities one other time that being Episode 5 when she jacks into N and V's systems or whatever. I still don't get why anyone thinks Uzi is a strong female protagonist. She basically does nothing for a majority of the series come to think of it. Outside of her final battle with Cyn the other characters do most of the work. Honestly the more and more I think about it the more I question why she was the main character in the first place. It just doesn't make a lot of sense the more and more I ponder the story itself what little of it there was.

You can describe Uzi's entire personality as "edgy snarky goth girl with powers and she also likes N" and there wont be any nuance that would have been left unmentioned, they dont even play around with it, its more or less a secondary trait over the fact the she has the spooky solver abilities.

The whole solver power scaling just fucks with the dynamic of the show's worldbuilding, it reminds me of DBZ where at some point the power system just gets so horribly incomprehensible and who wins becomes arbitrary.

That's TVTropes for ya, this entry wasn't even referring to "non-binary" Zooble lmao, its referring to universally-acknowledged-as-a-woman Ragatha, whoever edited this must have misread and did a knee-jerk reaction to "correct" it

Scratch that, its actually referring to a faceless mannequin NPC that was talking to pomni, not ragatha.

A pretty good way to explain it actually. There are a few examples I can think of where this happens. Though the thing with those is usually they have something else to compensate. Like, most of the time people don't really care or pay attention to the power scaling if the story or the characters are good enough.

Come to think of it I guess that's the shortest way to describe what's wrong with Murder Drones actually. It tries to do everything but doesn't really do any of it particularly well. It tries to make you care about the characters but fails miserably. It tries to make you care about the story for some reason even though it's almost non-existent. It tries to be serious and fails, it tries to be funny and fails.
Again the only thing it does that's good is the animation and the soundtrack. It fails at almost everything else it tries to do.

Anyway so I don't just resume ranting about Murder Drones again because I'm sure people are tried of reading this shit at this point, you think we're ever going to hear a peep about that other show they revealed at GlitchX ever again? I think someone else said it in the TADC thread but my guess is they're probably focusing on TADC for the time being and won't really work on that show until it's over because TADC is the big moneymaker so far. We don't really know how big they actually are or what their budget and resources look like so it might be they literally only have enough to work on one show at a time.

Considering the release schedules of new episodes and how TADC's production immediately sped up once Murder Drones ended, it is safe to say there is one department. If Glitch is smart, they would finish TADC as quickly as possible to surf on as much hype as they can in order to maximize viewership.

Even better. It's referring to the faceless mannequin NPC that orders the burger. That's how anal these people are.

I say this to any Kiwis reading this that happen to write things, either as a hobby like me or as a job. Have some faith in your own creations. They're gonna be shitty and that's fine. Accept it and simply try better next time. Don't insult it and thus the viewers by just giving in and becoming a modern zoomer writer. We will all thank you for it
I avoid Glitch's shit like the plague, glad I did because this thread (mostly you and @BigJoey41X) was incredibly entertaining and insightful. I also want to thank you for that quote right there because it makes me feel better about my shitty writing and is encouraging me not to be a perfectionist. Cheers and keep doing God's work.

Well, at least my autistic ranting somehow helped someone. That's about all you can ask for.

On the subject though.
I will say I know I sperged about Murder Drones a lot but I would like to clarify it's all born from a good place in my heart. If I well and truly didn't care I probably wouldn't have bothered to go so into detail with my criticisms I would've just said "Show bad, lol." and moved on. There are exceptions as always but 9 times out of 10 when you get in-depth criticisms such as mine it's probably from someone who wanted to see you do better. So that's something to always remember too.

These days it's an unfortunate trend for writers to just write off all criticism as worthless which is probably why so much of modern media is trash.

It will never happen but it'd be pretty funny if Murder Drones ever got a game(probably a hack and slash or action since that's clearly what the showed wanted to be) and it pulled a Samurai Jack Battle Through Time having an alternative ending compared to the show that got canonized instead and probably a better story

Potentially new Murder Drones behind the scenes tidbit.
I don't know where this comes from so take it with a grain of salt, I assume probably the behind the scenes Glitch server stuff or something but apparently it's been said Thad was originally going to be a main character instead of a side character?
Honestly, yeah, that tracks. Again it explains why they made him the one character who didn't think Uzi was a loser in the first few episodes.
Like he was the closest thing Uzi had to an actual friend before the series events so it always struck me as odd that they barely did anything with him after making that distinction.

As long as it doesn't become so blatantly overbearing, none of us should have a problem with it right?

something much more egregious to me is the vore shit, I don't know if you people are aware of this but Goose has THAT fetish where people getting eaten/swallowed whole is an unusually common thing that happens at least once in his works, even here in the Digital Circus, fucking disgusting.

sometimes I wish nobody told me about that, but since I now know this, you will all share this curse with me.
Maybe late, anyone else super uncomfortable with the Stupid Sauce from the latest TADC episode? It was so obviously a fetish of some kind, I'm not even sure what I'd call it and I could see it from a mile away for what it is.

No because it was clearly a joke about fast food workers getting high/drunk on the job. Something that happens fairly often in the real world.

What the fuck mind do you have to see a fetish out of that???

I saw people's kids watching """fan animations""" of the characters doing... very questionable stuff, and those videos had a minimun of 1M views each. So most of those views are probably children watching it on repeat
makes too much sense, troons are using the show to groom kids, wouldn't suprise me if the majority of fan animations were made by them

There was an extensive rewrite going on involving Khan, MD being more self-contained episodes instead of the Absolute Solver Cyn plot and some other things.

First episode is before the rewrite and you can see Doll in the crowd cheering when Uzi killed J.

I believe that Doll was just gonna remain a background character, Thad being Uzi's friend or boyfriend and Khan would've been the first villain.

If a Game ever were to be made it might have a more coherent plot than the episodic crap that ended up happening.
